This includes the ones I come across that I have yet to review including locations in Palm Bay, Historic Downtown Melbourne (formerly), Viera, Port St. Lucie, and Stuart. However, there is one Kavasutra that stands out simply because one of their workers there makes it a location I say goes above and beyond the typical Kavasutra experience: Kavasutra Melby (Melbourne, FL). And that one worker, the "Kava Queen" (maybe I should remove the quotations because she really pushes her moniker), Shannon. First and foremost, everything from my initial review is still in effect in general, but let me talk to you about Shannon. She's the kavatender with the most tenure at this kava joint, and she holds it down. Very friendly and approachable and as mentioned earlier, able to hold a good conversation and be civil. Shannon is also a fantastic kavatender. Unlike some who just sling shells, she actually did a great job with the mocktails, which seems as if not many of the patrons order them by how it seems. The first one she got me was by accident called the "Elder Drop" which consists of pineapple, elderflower, lemon juice, ginger ale, and Shane's Addiction, their kratom blend. Though it was a screwup, it was fantastic. So delicious. Now the one I wanted, the Key Lime Pie Drop, consisted of French vanilla, peppermint, lime juice, ginger ale, and Shane's Addiction. It as so good! Overall, well for me, Shannon is the main reason I am giving this location not just its fourth star, but a rarity fifth star for a chain business. If you ever stop in, enjoy the tropical vibes, the EDM playing in the background, and make sure to order a delicious mocktail from Shannon, but take note that the other kavatenders, Paige and Marty, are great too. **INITIAL REVIEW**…read more Some of you know that I am often brought to historic downtowns and villages in hopes of "letterbox seeding" them. As I get close to concluding Historic Downtown Melbourne/Melbourne Main Street, I am moving both south to Sebastian Riverview Area and north to the Eau Gallie Art District. Today, I decided to further check out the Sebastian Riverview Area and it looks like I'll be getting more done here as I discover more "mom n' pop" shops. One of the restaurants in the area I've been to before is Cafe Latte da. Located on the northside of the Sebastian Riverview Area on the riverside of US-1 (across the street from The District), Cafe Latte da is a smallish shop ran by two women. It is a quaint coffee shop that looks like stepping into grandma's house, well, at least the view you'd think seen on classic television, especially on Lifetime. The women are very kind. Very friendly and admirable and I had such a nice conversation with them. As for the food, it was delicious for what they have. Definitely a place you want to support. Now for the overall criticism. As much as I like this place, I most stress critical points that may be a factor for other patrons. For starters, the two women seem to be the only ones running this place, so there is a layer of grime often associated with homes ran by older people. Each menu had a bit of stickiness to it. For me, not a problem. But I know it can be an issue for others. It is quite evident things need to be wiped down. You can especially see crumbs on certain displays. Next, the food menu is good, but can be limited given the limits they have. Take that as you may, but so far, everything they had served me was delicious which is the more important factor in my opinion. Ultimately, I am going to give an overall rating of three out of five stars. It is good to go here if you can be graceful on some things. But there are some, especially some of my friends who are germiphobes and get uppity if a restroom doesn't have a means to open the door without using your hands. Still, give these ladies and their coffee shop some love. They are pillars in expressing and progressing the community with all the local artists displaying their art, events, and activities they support. Not only was the ice cream absolutely delicious (we tried it in both a cone and cup!), but the staff--especially the German owner--were beyond friendly, warm, and welcoming. They made us feel like more than just customers, and that personal touch elevated the whole experience. The shop itself is clean, stylish, and modern with fun, cozy touches and a perfect pink aesthetic that invites you to stay a while. There's a fantastic variety of desserts, and while we haven't tried their famous waffles yet, we absolutely plan to return for them soon. After smacking it on the side a few times and shaking it, I found it to be working correctly, so I proceeded to Carmen's Restaurant and Catering in Palm Bay, FL. What a world of difference! Carmen is the proprietor and a one-woman show and boyo, let me tell ya, she sure shines. I found Carmen's menu to be a joy to behold, as eclectic as my vinyl collection. As such, I decided to go in a different direction today and steered away from the traditional Jamaican fare such as Jerk Chicken and Curried Goat and went with an order of Carmen's Fried Chicken with sides of rice, beans and potato salad along with an order of her Bang Bang Fried Shrimp Tacos (the same name as the drek at the horrid Bonefish Grill) with fries. As Carmen got to work on my eats, I took in the interior. I found it to be open, welcoming, bright, and cheery, not unlike the owner! Carmen was out in no time with my foodstuffs. Taking a few before pictures, I got to work. I turned my attention and palate to the Fried Chicken. The first thing I noticed was the crunch of the coating. If you look at the picture I've attached, you can see what I mean. That coating was slathered on without care for conservation. It wasn't too much, it was just enough. The chicken, blanketed in a tender, juicy, succulent coating, tasted superb. The rice and beans were well-cooked and seasoned with love. The potato salad, like everything else, I assume was made by Carmen and if your Grandmother makes a better potato salad, I will eat these words! I can't speak for you, but when I hear or read the words, Bang Bang, I immediately think of three things. First, playing cops and robbers as a child and "shooting" the bad guy with my finger gun while shouting, "Bang! Bang!" The second is the Bollywood bad remake of a worse film, "Bang Bang!" The third thing I think of is Chinese Street Chicken. None of this has anything to do with Carmen's Bang Bang Fried Shrimp Tacos, other than the Bang Bang sauce is loosely based on the Chinese Street Chicken tossing sauce. Carmen's Bang Bang sauce was a mixture of mayo, spicy stuff and it was mahvalous, dahling! The shrimp were coated with the same love and care as the chicken and were just as tender and juicy. Got Dayum! Carmen knows her way around a kitchen. I can only assume these are her recipes as well. She should open a restaurant and share this with...oh, wait. Never mind. With this meal and the success of the Fried Chicken at Cajun Soul, my hopes have been raised considerably. The Big Boy says, "If you want good eats served with love and a friendly smile, visit Carmen. Tell her the Big Boy sent ya (it's safe this time)!"

They have signs that they do a Sunday brunch and will have to give that a try. If you use credit or debit cards they do add a 4% fee. Have noticed a lot of places are doing that now. Just another reason to carry some cash. But even if you don't 4% really isn't that back as their food is worth it. Stop in give they a try.
