**INITIAL REVIEW**…read more Out of the three kava and kratom houses or bars located in proper Palm Bay, FL, Kraken Kava - which I will shorthand simply to Kraken for the remainder of this review - is probably the one most-centralized in the area. Being the sibling bar to Pau Hana in Melbourne, they both share a lot of the same, but they also have distinct differences, thus making Kraken stand out on its own. Despite Kalea Kava House being my "home," I will admit when it comes to being well-rounded, Kraken is the go-to pertaining to Palm Bay and the kava community, especially the Space Coast Kava Community. Though an address is provided, Kraken is located in Interchange Square, in between Goodwill Palm Bay and Brown's Jamaican Bakery and Kitchen. The first things to take note that even though Kraken is two-years-old, they still don't have a proper moniker showcased at their storefront. You'll see the Kraken name painted on one of their window panels, but not Kraken sign. There was one once, but I am unsure why they don't have one right now. Prior to entering, there are a small contingent of tables and chairs outside for people who prefer outdoor seating, but inside, it is definitely much roomier, with more space to work with than the norm kava bar or house. From the entrance, the left (west) side is the bar in which one of the bartenders (kavatenders) - whom I only know about Sage, Fitz, Jay, and Haze - will take care of you. They have a wide selection of kava and kratom mocktails plus straight-up shells for those who just want the purest taste of such. They also have a good selection of both coffees and teas. I actually like this as one of my rules to not to drink kava or kratom until after 2 p.m. Ergo, I will enjoy cold herbal green tea with flavors. My personal favorite is mango and hibiscus. Food selection is limited to chips and candy bars, but Kraken does offer more food during certain events, and will allow you to bring food in especially Jamaican from the bakery next door. Finally, the rest of the floor consists of two pool tables for patron enjoyment, a lounge area, four regular tables and regular chairs for patrons who prefer to sit normally instead of elevated in bar chairs, and a stage for events which happen both weekly and on special occasion. So far, I have attended the Craft n' Kava bi-weekly event and one of their trivia nights. Poker seems to be the one event that gets the most attention, at least when I was there. And of course you can go in to relax or do business. I have written a many Yelp reviews at Kraken. I also played many board games with friends there, too (in which they have a shelfcase loaded with games for your enjoyment). Probably the only criticism I have is the fact there is only one unisex restroom. If the place is full, you know you'll be waiting to use the toilet if your bladder suddenly goes into emergency evacuation mode. For everything mentioned within this review, I am giving Kraken a solid four-out-of-five stars. Excellent place to go, excellent kava house to compliment not only Palm Bay, but the Space Coast, and a lot to do, and a lot to enjoy for those who enjoy kava, kratom, or other preferred beverage. If Kraken continues to stay consistent, I will definitely update this review and rating, granting them their final fifth star for consistency.

**INITIAL REVIEW**…read more For many years, the Planet Fitness located in Palm Bay West - the strip mall located in the southwest quadrant of the Malabar Rd./Minton Rd. intersection in which the longtime-operating Winn Dixie is being upgraded into an Aldi - has been my go-to gym. Best price, open almost 24/7, and access to all gym locations via the Black Card, it was a perfect fit for my travel and work schedule. The one business missing in relationship to Planet Fitness was a health smoothie/drink shop, which was remedied when Smoothie Social Cafe opened up about three years ago (?). Gabby, the owner at the time, saw an opportunity, and it worked. Sadly, Gabby wanted to go back to hairstyling and the future for Smoothie Social Cafe was in question, until the new owners took over and updated it to Luna Dayz Cafe (which I will shorthand simply to Luna Dayz for the remainder of this review). I have to say that I am thankful Gabby sold her smoothie shop to someone she would trust, but also the fact that Luna Dayz is actually "better" than Smoothie Social Cafe is something I must attest to, too. On the outside, Luna Dayz fits the overall outside aesthetic of the strip mall. Nothing really stands out unless you talk about window art, advertisements, and a reading-simplified menu on the glass. There is also a specials sign that feature the specials of the day, too. Inside is where the aesthetic is more personal. To be frank, the indoor decor is very similar to Smoothie Social Cafe with modern-day art and pictures on the wall, modernized furniture, and an ordering counter and kitchen in the back. The two big changes I see is the inside of the front of the restaurant has become visual bar seating so anyone there can work but also enjoy people watching, and the kid's play area. Lianna and Kyra do an excellent job running as the kitchen and front staff of the cafe. They make excellent smoothies in which I usually get their Golden Glow smoothie which primarily consists of bananas, peanut butter, and whey protein. They also have fresh-baked bagels daily with cream cheese options, and a kid's menu that includes cheese sticks, wraps, and hot dogs. On a sidenote, Luna Dayz has one single-serving restroom that is unisex. Primarily, the staff does an excellent job keeping it clean and stocked. Ultimately, I am going to give Luna Dayz a four-out-of-five star rating. They have an excellent presence with an excellent menu that caters to who they are and what they serve at a fair price, and their active outreach into the community, especially with children, should be well-admired and respected. If Luna Dayz continues to be this good on a consistent level, I will return and update their rating with a fifth star.

I also asked for a cup of water (which I've been given before) and I was told they're supposed to be selling the bottles of water. But I didn't want to buy a bottle of Costco Kirkland purified water... also, I needed a cup with a lid because it was for my toddler. Weird experience today. I love this place though. Usually really good food! Just extremely slow service. Friendly staff. But maybe they should consider having additional people working...and give egg options for their sandwiches...scrambled, fried, or I guess...boiled.

But I feel the management needs to do a little customer service training. When I arrived, no one was in the restaurant including staff. I called out a few times and finally an attendant came out. She greeted me and asked me what I wanted and when I started to tell her, the phone rang. She did say excuse me, but then started to take the order on the phone while I just stood there. You should always place the person on hold on the phone and help the person who arrived first. It was rude and I was so turned off, I just left and went and got boba by my house. Not sure if I will ever go back, but I know it will be a while.
