Very satisfied with the level of professionalism, price and rapid response time when I had a water emergency at my home. I woke up to no water and the realization that I had a frozen pipe somewhere due the extreme cold temperature. I quickly searched yelp for a nearby plumber and DeCola's came up with a 5 star rating. Coincidentally, upon consulting with my condo management company, they also recommended DeCola as a reliable company who has done repairs for them in the past. Upon calling DeCola, I got someone on the phone right away who was so pleasant, gently calmed my fears and gave me suggestions to remedy until a repairman (Marcus) could come out. Well, he showed up within the hour and fixed the source of the frozen pipe to the best of his ability. He was knowledgeable and reassuring to me that everything would be fine. He also was nice enough to replace a minor part on my toilet that I mentioned was broken and didn't charge me. I will definitely use them again--they do plumbing and heating for gas furnaces, which I have. Highly recommend! read more

If there was an option for ZERO stars that would be my choice based upon THE ZERO service I received. First of all, I did not hire this circus. My realtor did after the home inspector broke the seal on my toilet. The performer arrived at my home, and THOUGHT he could raise his voice and be utterly disrespectful to me in MY house. I asked that he lower his volume and ge went out onto my sidewalk called someone, maybe his boss and was yelling and using the F BOMB, a neighbor who had 2 little kids outside asked him to watch his language. Having recently moved into an older house, we found there were a number of plumbing issues that needed to be addressed -- none of them catastrophic, but several of them significant. Rich Decola came to our home, and carefully walked through, examining each problem and patiently explaining options (even noting for my wife how he could readily move our stackable washer-dryer to provide a little more needed pantry space. He provided a detailed estimate of costs, which allowed us to make informed decisions about what we wanted to have done. The young plumber who came to carry out the repairs was terrific: timely, skilled, patient and good humored -- even though some of the repairs called for an awful lot of sheer muscle. We were especially pleased by the fact that, unasked, he took care to lay down drop cloths everywhere he would need to go, protecting our hardwood floors and leaving us with zero post-repair clean-up. (He even did a quick minor fix of a shower handle free of charge!) The total cost of the repairs was exactly what Rich Decola had told us to expect. No surprises, just work very well done. I had contacted another company but they never returned my call. I then contacted Decola's since I wanted a local company. While I had to cancel the first appointment because the plumber was running much later than expected, he actually not only showed up on time the next time around but it was during the aftermath of a blizzard and the streets had not been totally cleared!! That's service! I knew I would need a new Saniflo system that was going to be pretty pricey but Rich called me, told me the price, and asked if it was okay for Marcus, the plumber, to purchase the part. I really appreciated the call (although I know it's because they don't want to have to eat the cost of something that customers don't want to pay for once they find out the price!). I thanked both Rich and Marcus for their professionalism, prompt service, and letting me make the decision as to whether or not I wanted to spend the money on a pricey repair (I did!). This is a review based on 2nd hand observation of what the house owner I know and am related to went through. 1) First time they were supposedly over, nobody was home. The thing is they never called before they headed over AND we WERE home. 2) We then scheduled an appointment (3 hour window); he called 45 minutes AFTER the 3 hour window saying he cannot make it and that he needs to reschedule. No apology for not being able to call earlier (while he was within his 3 hour window) nor an apology for the inconvenience. Issue remained unresolved until this morning when I just took care of it myself on behalf of the house owner. As it stands today, I would never recommend them. So, based on all this, I have to give a low rating. If anything at all is done by service provider to remediate all this, will be happy to reconsider a revision to this review. read more

I never write reviews but I was just about to be without heat for my baby's first Christmas at home. My pilot light went out while they were preparing for asbestos removal in the basement and I called in a panic since the next day, the basement was going to be inaccessible for over a week. Rich Decola had someone at the house in less than an hour - someone who was supposed to be getting out early the Friday before Christmas. Absolutely Do NOT recommend this company! I called them regarding a leaky faucet. A guy showed up 2 days later, took the faucet apart, announced he will not fix it because it is Home Depot brand (and they don't like to work with these parts), put it back together but now the faucet does not work at all. The best part is he charged almost $140 for 15min of his time and fixed NOTHING!!! Actually, made it worse... I'm reading other posts with disbelief! Do not fall for these ratings!!! read more

I needed a plumber at my house on a Sunday for an emergency. I spoke with Richard who was very nice. He said there would be a licensed plumber at my house within the hour. George arrived 35 minutes later. I ran off a load of laundry in my washing machine in the basement and shortly afterwards, heard the sound of gushing water from the first floor. Soapy water was overflowing from my washing machine drain pipe and created a flooded area. What a mess! In no time, George had snaked the main line and removed the clog. He was very professional, answered all of my questions, explained to me what he needed to do, cleaned up after himself and was very nice. I would not hesitate to call them again and would highly recommend them. read more

contacted office and described in detail why gas fireplace was not working. company sends someone out..he presses ignition button which doesnt stay lit . he then writes out invoice describing problem which i told the company before they came out. charged me $65.00 for knocking on door and pressing ignition button. then leaves and says he will contact fireplace company for information on unit? he never even took anything apart and this is what passes for a service call?! read more
