Amazing company! They installed windows in three bedrooms and two bathrooms, a total of 10 windows. The installation was completed summer 2024. This afternoon, I called Mr. Carney to say one of the windows was not locking properly. He asked me to call the office and ask to see if someone could come out today. Rachel, who answered the phone, said Frank would be there about 230 PM. The time was 143 PM. Frank was here by 155 PM! So from my first call to when Frank got here was less than half an hour! It was seamless in choosing tile, cabinetry, countertop, vanity and flooring with the help of their decorator; they had everything available and coordinated accordingly. The only issue I had was because the vinyl flooring was varied, it really would have been better if the flooring guy consulted with me before actually laying it! I wasn't happy with the way he did it. They came back to re-do it, but didn't coordinate when I would be home. It's better, but I should been consulted first. Overall, I'm very happy! read more

Without question, having to deal with Baybrook was one of the worst and most aggravating experiences (if I could give them zero stars, I would). Save yourself the trouble and find a contractor that will actually do the job right. A 6 week master bath remodel took almost a full year (and it had nothing to do with supply chain issues or problems caused by the pandemic). Our project was filled with poor workmanship, a failure to read blue prints (causing them to have to "re-do" many aspects of the job), improper measurements and employees that either never showed up or would sit in our driveway for an hour and then leave etc. etc. Their project management and responsiveness to a customers' needs, is sub par at best.....questions and price quotes would go unanswered for weeks. Please know......they are extremely responsive when they want their payments and will even drive to your house to pick up the check. read more

I had an awesome experience remodeling my bathroom with this team! Starting at the beginning, they showed me everything I needed to see at their showroom. The options available were great quality and value, and the staff there were friendly. Two gentlemen came to my home (very polite about wearing masks etc) to take measurements and explain the process to me. I received a quote very quickly. The construction team was extremely neat. They covered my floors and cleaned up after themselves. The electrician was efficient. The plumber was friendly and took extra time to make adjustments that I asked for. The carpenters stopped to ask me how I wanted certain pieces of trim installed. The job was overall really well done and it was done on schedule! Finding a good contractor is ridiculously difficult, so we are very glad to have found Baybrook. Short version: Baybrook has been excellent for our project and I would definitely recommend them. Details: We dreamed of expanding our garage for more car room and storage space. We now have an expanded garage with flat roof patio/deck on top (EPDM membrane and pavers). We started with another contractor who was priced very well, but wound up making mistakes and not being able to finish the job he started. We wanted someone more established and reliable, and while we had never worked with them before, Baybrook seemed to fit the bill. Definitely pricier than the first guy, but when it comes to construction projects it seems you often get what you pay for. Having worked in construction myself in the past, I recognize good work and people when I see them. Baybrook is as close to a "Make it Right" kind of outfit (if you get the reference) that I've seen. Baybrook answered all of our questions throughout the process, and were even agreeable to letting us do portions of the project ourselves (to save some money). Even though we were pretty set on what we wanted from the get-go, we worked with one of the designers (Dan) and owner (Ken) to look at different options, and did actually change our plans a bit. It was great to sit down and visualize different options using 3D software to see what our house would actually look like in different ways. Even if we didn't go ahead with Baybrook as the contractors, this design process was great and gave us some printed plans that we could have used with someone else (or ourselves). I definitely recommend doing this, especially since you get a credit for the design cost towards your project if you do go with them. The project went ahead at a steady pace, and there was good hand-off from each "team" to the next (site/concrete first, then framing, then roofing). Communication via text and phone was great. Ed was our project manager, and was incredibly nice and helpful. I liked that he talked with us a lot about what we wanted and offered suggestions about what might benefit us. We did make a few small modifications to the project (for example removing a column support to give us more car maneuvering space), and we are very glad we did. As with any construction project you have to be prepared for a few inconveniences (living with a dumpster and portapotty, debris, rain delays, etc.), but Baybrook is by far the best outfit I've worked with so far, and we will definitely be working with them in the future and recommending them. Baybrook just finished my 2 bathrooms and I'm really happy with the job they did. Right from the beginning they have been very professional. All the workers did a great job and every night my house was left clean. Even when they gutted to bathrooms, which had 50 year old plaster, they really took the time to protect all our stuff. My kitchen remodel. I had Baybrook do my kitchen and I could not be happier. They had the right people every step of the way. My last remodel project did not go nearly as smoothly and I think a big difference this time was communication. Baybrook stayed in constant contact with me and everyone involved in my project. They provided the electricians and plumbers, everything. My last remodel I had to find my own electrician. Try finding a good one, it's easier said than done. They worked together seamlessly then Baybrook handled all the inspections and paperwork. My cabinets were great. I love my granite! so beautiful. After many years of thought and planning I decided the time had arrived to completely remodel my 1959 ranch house in Orange, CT. Knowing the project would involve all aspects of renovation (electric, plumbing, windows, siding, painting, kitchen/bath demolition, etc.) I knew a design/build team would be a smart investment. With all the decisions involved in the process the very best one I made was to select Baybrook Remodelers for the transformation of my home. Baybrook's strength is the depth of service received from the initial consultation to the final creation. The advice and patience of Bill(salesman), Dan(design/estimator), and Maria(designer) was invaluable, they listened to all my questions, looked at all my inspiration photos (egads!), and then helped guide me through the details without pressure or judgement. There was some trepidation on my part as I would be living in the house with my two dogs during all the work, but my fears were unfounded. The project manager Pat came to the site every day to update me on the plan, always inquiring if there were any concerns or problems. The crew arrived on time every day and always made sure all was clean and safe before they departed. John (painter), Percy and Josh (carpenters), Gilson (demolition and more), Wonderson (tile artisan), and many others made each day a pleasure as I watched old become new! I thought I was doing the right thing, I checked references. I should have checked the courts. After they damaged my home and accused me of lying, they came back for years doing sub-par repairs on the poor workmanship. When i was fed up enough to look into suing them, I went to the law library to find out how to do that. The law librarian told me that Baybrook is in court all the time with people suing them. After my experience, another person in a nearby neighborhood was so fed up that they had a sign made that reads " I do not recommend Baybrook Remodelers!" I wish that sign had been up before i got screwed over by them. read more

My house was destroyed in a tornado and my public adjuster recommended Baybrook Remodelers for the job. My insurance company only gave me 6 months to have the house rebuilt. I was so impressed that they finished rebuilding the house by the deadline! I was very happy with Baybrook's architect, Dan Haslegrave, and his ability to maximize the space inside a 782 square foot house. We now have an open concept kitchen/living room, a pantry, a larger bathroom, larger bedrooms, and much more closet space in both bedrooms in what used to be a small cottage barely enough for two people to live comfortably. Now the house feels like a cozy bed and breakfast! I was also impressed with the owner of the company, Ken Carney. He took charge of the project making sure that communication was clear among all of his workers. If anything needed to be fixed or re-done, Ken took full responsibility and made sure the job was done correctly. The contractors were always available for me to call anytime I had a question during this major project. I was able to reach Ken and his workers even on weekends! The quality of the materials are top notch and the house came with a 10 year warranty along with an electronic manual of all the details ( paint colors, siding choice, cabinet choice, etc...) we chose to refer to in the future if need be. Had a very bad experience with Baybrook Remodelers. Had water coming down my walls & ceiling In October after a heavy rain. I called Baybrook immediately because I have known the owner well for years & truly respected him. That is why I chose his company. He sent someone over on Oct 1st. Gave me a $1600,00 estimate & contract without ever going up on the roof. We gave him$800.00 dome 1/2 deposit. Called the owner & asked how he could do an estimate without going up on the roof or in the room where water is coming in? The next day real workers came by & went up on the roof to confirm the estimate.There were inconsistencies ÿin the estimate like 17 feet of flashing where only 6 feet of flashing was required. Etc. Approx. a week later a worker showed up to do the work. After another heavy rain , the work did not work. Rain still coming in Sent another crew a few days later. Then they changed the scope of work a second contract was draw up for rolled roofing. Did not hear from them for a while. New contract over $3000.00. We are now into Dec. On Dec 6th, Another person called & said the work would b completed by Sat 12/08.He was surprised that we had no communication what so ever from the original contact.. sat Dec 8th they came & both my husband & the Baybrook Forman realized that in 25 degree weather realized that the glues or adhesive would not stick in 25 degree weather. They left. On 12/13 at 7:30 in the morning the roman calls and said they were on there way to do the job. No more rolled roofing. No new contract no piece etc. Again he was surprised that the original contact never informed us of this. They show up 45 minutes later and start the work. no contract no price! He was surprised we did not know this & went back to the office for the original contract. On Dec 19th the original contact leave me a voice mail for the final price $795.00. He said he Would come by to pick up the check. He, once again, was a no show! On 12/27 he call to collect the balance. I informed him I had it ready for him a week ago when he was a no show! I will never do business with this company again despite liking the owner! he communication was absolutely horrible and obviously the employees do not communicate or coordinate with one another! read more

Cannot give zero stars so I guess it's a 1. Worst contractors ever. Installed Sheetrock before installing light fixtures so had to cut holes in walls and ceiling and patch. Installed bathroom cabinet wrong then cut new Sheetrock to fix then had to move them again because sink hardware wasn't taken into account so doors couldn't be opened. I could go on. 12 months on a 4 month job and they're still not done. There really isn't a company. Just two guys who really don't give a crap and hire outside people to do the work. Don't try calling if there is a problem. All contact is through email. I wouldn't hire them to change a lightbulb. read more

This worked out perfect because I was driving from out of state and was able to pick out all the materials and options within a few hours. My remodel included, new Windows, ceramic tile floors, granite counter tops, kitchen back splash, 200 amp electrical service upgrade, new front step and railing, complete bathroom overhaul and hardwood floor refinish. Well, I am not usually one to get on the internet and post reviews, but I feel compelled to do something for a company that has just completed our "Dream Home". Ken Carney and his staff at Baybrook Remodelers have far exceeded any expectations that we had when we started this process back in November (2012). We went to Ken with some plans, a budget, and some dreams; and man have they delivered. We completely renovated our current home by renovating the existing 1st floor and adding a substantial size 2nd floor. The craftsmanship and attention to detail is second to none. The major things that were getting completed, were easy for me to see, it was the small things that the workers did that made this house come out perfect. One of many examples was when electrical was going in and I could not decide on fixtures, location of lights, pantry lights, etc. Both Ken and his project managers were extremely patient and innovative when coming up with different ideas to solve "problems" that I would present. The best part, was that they were coming up with modern and innovative ideas that made the house 10x better solely based on my requests. THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!!!!!!! BELIEVE ME!!! Words are never going to be able to express how grateful we are that we were referred to Baybrook. I always worry that somebody is going to try and take advantage of my lack of knowledge on something or situation and always worry that I didn't get the best deal. Ken and his team were very reassuring and understood that we were embarking on a life changing event when we undertook this project and they never took advantage of that. In fact there were a couple times, when the project deviated from the plans and/or the contract (as is usual with a project this size). Not only did Ken make sure, I knew why something had changed, I was given the benefit of the doubt and not charged for the change. Who does this? Ken Carney does this!!! The only additional charges we incurred on our project were changes and additions we requested and all of them were in writing and agreed to prior to the change. There were never any surprises when it came to costs associated with this project. One would think that a large scale project would be stressful and come with numerous problems. We had NONE! In fact, Baybrook made our living conditions as comfortable as possible. You see, we lived in the house for as long as we could during construction. We have two small children and the workers at Baybrook made it a point be respectful of us, our children, and our space. They were clean, engaged our children in conversation, were respectful, and responsive to all of our needs. I could keep going with praises and examples of how Baybrook exceeded all of our expectations, but I think you get the point. We are more than satisfied with Baybrook Remodelers. We were referred by a local community bank and another friend who had used them for an addition. I will definitely be using them again for a 1st floor bathroom remodel and have already referred them to a relative. I am surprised at the negative comments regarding Baybrook Remodelers because they are completely opposite to our experience. We have an older home and have used Baybrook Remodelers extensively for years. We used them after having other contractors work on our house. Although I could write several pages about our experiences, I will be brief. They are an exceptional company for several reasons. Ken Carney is consistently approachable, answers his phone calls, addresses concerns promptly and is honest. His workmen are polite and on time. His design team, especially Dan, is innovative, patient and sensitive to ones concerns. Our projects have always had a project manager who is immediately accessible during the entire project. Our experiences with Baybrook Remodelers has spanned putting on a new roof, rebuilding a balcony and a major reconstruction involving a new kitchen with the demolition of three rooms and creating two new bathrooms. Six months ago they installed six new skylights and two weeks ago they converted a dining room into a library. All projects have been done within budget and completed on time.
