The salon feels spacious and modern. Soon after I walked in, I was led to a cutting chair to wait for my stylist, Lam. I was offered something to drink and I chose green tea. When I asked to use the bathroom right before I was supposed to lay back for a hair wash, the lady assigned to me seemed fine with it and even encouraged me to take my time. Their bathroom appears nicely kept. Lam is one of the best stylists that I've had to date. He helped come up with solutions to my concerns and answered any hair care questions that I had. He even showed me a few quick hairdos I can do myself on a day to day basis when I asked. When most of his colleagues had already left, he was still taking his time wrapping up the cut. When I told him he didn't need to curl my hair because of the salon closing soon, he said that he loves his job and was totally okay with curling my hair. I believe his passion translates well into his work. He is definitely a Master Stylist and totally worth it! Tipping is optional and can be done with card along with the main bill although tipping separately in cash is still encouraged. Will be back for my next cut. read more

5 yrs ago I came to this salon and met Qiu my color stylist . He is absolutely a delight to work with. My first time I asked for lavender color and he delivered. Yesterday I wanted pink and delivered as well. He's def professional. If you want fun colors , I suggest coming here . I have daRk brown hair and the bleaching process is very very long - think 8 plus hours to get to blonde . Qiu makes sure he's hands on all the time . Always keeping an eye on ur hair and making sure they protect ur scalp in the process. Keep in mind, any pastel colors will fade in couple of washes . This is the second appointment I've had with Jeong and it was great! Super easy to make an appointment with them or anyone at the salon! You can dm or text them and all the information is on their ig too! They are all super nice and accommodating, and the place is really clean and COVID adhering! No issues with social distancing and everyone had a mask on! It was really easy to communicate what I wanted and they were really accommodating and listened to what I wanted and made suggestions accordingly! I got a foliage and a hair cut by Rex and it was done really well! My hair had been through a lot with various box dyes and previous coloring, but it turned out great! I've been getting my hair cut by Lam for 2+ years now. He is always meticulous and takes the time to give you the best cut. I have also had a foliage done by Q in the past and would definitely recommend him for coloring. That being said, I removed a star because the prices when you book on Yelp do not reflect the actual prices when you check out in person. Also, I had a pretty bad experience with Alvin when Lam went on vacation and I booked a cut with him. He was super rough when blowdrying and kept jabbing the comb into my ears. I rarely take the time to write a review but I genuinely felt I got scammed. I walked in - first time - to get my roots done. My usual lady was traveling and I had a trip coming up. The gentleman behind the desk asked a stylist to come over however I asked how much for half head roots color. He said 100-165$. I said ok, just want to know exactly how much before I proceed. The stylist came over, had a look and advised $100.00. I asked is 'for everything in total' and he said yes. They set me up, everyone was nice - so no comments there - after washing the hair - the stylist asked me how do I want it blow dried. I advised, I just wanted it natural so he brushed it out w/a dryer. My hair is straight, so it was pretty simple. I head over to pay. Give my card and they say $142.-- Im confused and state why is it 142 -- taxes and credit card fee is usually not that high. They state "for the blow dry". Let me explain - this was a wash and dry, not blow and style. If you get your hair dyed, the wash and regular dry is always included. The stylist was quiet and they just said 'that's what it is'. Obviously not going to make a scene, so frustrated, asked them to wrap it up. They then expected me to to 20% or more. I dropped $20.00 cash and left. Which really, I shouldn't have but didn't want that karma on me either. To sum it up: service was norm, they were busy with people so everything took a while but i did walk in, hence I didn't stress about it too much. But business ethics were ZERO so recco to check total $$ and what it includes before you get anything started. Will not be going back, ever for the principal of their lack of care and or mediation to at least find a resolution. read more

After a bad experience last year with another salon that does balayages, I made an appointment with Jeong on IG after seeing his work and hearing from friends about him. My experience here was so much more pleasant. My gripe with other salons is that they have assistants working on you the whole time and they forget about you because they accept too many clients- but here, Jeong and his assistant took turns working on my hair. They were very friendly, attentive, offered snacks and breaks, and actually listened to what I wanted for my hair. Went here instead as you can easily walk in. 4 stars instead of 5. PRO: They are good with cutting hair. I forget the person's name that worked on my hair, but although he hadn't cut my hair to exactly as what I wanted, he still did very good and he tried his best - due to my hair not having the same texture as the one in the picture as I have asian hair. I am happy with my cut as it is my first time cutting my hair short, but he made it look good. I respect the guy very much so for maintaining his patience with me and my hair. I have very thick hair and he would try his best to accomplish what I wanted. I wish I tipped him more for his time. CON: I disagree that the texture of my hair is incorrect for the picture. I've had styles similar to that texture. Me being much of a tomboy, I wanted short hair that is non-feminine-like considering how damaged my hair already was, so now I decided to just cut it all off. I decided I might as well make it like a guy-cut. I felt that it was kind of messed up that the one who worked on my hair didn't prefer my taste. I looked at other reviews here commenting about judgement. That is kind of true. Well, if it weren't for my damaged hair, he probably would have had a better time with styling my hair. But I believe that because this is an Asian hair salon, they would only know how to work with Asian hairstyles on Asians due to texture difference, but I didn't think my hair texture was any different than the one in the picture due to how much I bleached my bangs, so the texture changed. Overall, it doesn't matter. The deed was done and I still love the result. Workers try their best here. I can tell. They care about your results. They would spend more time to work on your hair to adjust to your liking. The price here is decent as well. It isn't expensive. Therefore, I am not disappointed at all. I found this place when searching for another salon because an ad for them popped up. I came in for a same-day haircut appointment and they took care of me right away. This place ended up being much less expensive than the salon I was initially looking for and they were super attentive. Most importantly of all, I now have the best cut I've had in...years or maybe ever. My hair was super long and extremely processed. I asked for layers and to take off all the dead ends. Alvin managed to keep my length but cleaned up lots of dead hair and made my fine insanely flat hair look voluminous. Most of the time when I get a cut they put 100lbs I'd product and curl it to disguise the underwhelming results. My hair is looking good with minimal product and a naturally straight blowout. So beyond disappointed in my experience here. I told the hairdresser (Male) so many times I wanted my hair as LONG AS POSSIBLE. No layers straight across cut. We Litterally agreed upon less than an inch trim. With a face frame a simple hair cut I have been getting for years. In the middle of the cut he INSIST over and over that I need long layers and this is the most boring hair cut without layers. At the end of the cut and blow dry he insist on cutting more and I finally refused. He cut about 4 inches off my hair it is the most horrendous haircut I have ever received. Came in for a single process coloring in August last year. People are nice here and I don't need to wait for a walk-in appointment. However they applied the coloring cream directly on my scalp and I immediately felt the burn. I told them this never happened in my previous coloring experiences as all my previous stylists would leave some space from my scalp, but they said they just usually did it this way and I can choose to wash it off now. I didn't want to come in for nothing so I bear with the uncomfortable feeling and finished the process. Consequences: 1. My hair does not have consistent color... One part was the new hair that was never colored before and the other part was colored previously 2. My scalp started getting itchy very often and the condition is not getting better after six months. I'm waiting for my doctor's appointment to check it out 3. I lost so much hair... Staff was pleasant but the overall experience wasn't great. I frequent Shair and since my colorist was booked I decided to give this place a try based on the positive reviews. Felt like I was sitting through chaos through my whole experience since it wasn't communicated how long I was going to be processed, next steps so forth. Mind you I was there just for a root touch up and tone. I think the worse part for me was that there was color on my face and it wasn't removed until I went to the sink. While there the person used alcohol to remove the dye and pretty much rubbed my skin raw. Today is day 3 and it doesn't sting anymore but it now looks like a burn mark. As for the color, not what I wanted but I see my colorist in two weeks (he's going to hate me). If you have a usual colorist you go to, Do Not try someone new. read more

One of my worst experience ever. I went there to dye my hair into really normal color. It should be really easy and quick. But it took me three hour to get a three different color hair. They dyed it somehow the color showed very different tone from the top to down. It is very light at the top and dark at the bottom. That's definitely not what I want. I believe either they used really horrible products or the hair stylists there are very unprofessional. Highly recommended you guys don't even try to walk in that salon. The hospitality was like no other salon I've been to, and Ray was the nicest :) Offering teas, chocolates, other sweet goodies. I wanted to dye my hair medium brown and showed my hairdresser a picture of the shade I wanted. They bleached my hair and applied toner, which burned A LOT. I've dyed my hair at other salons but never experienced this degree of burning. Afterwards my hair was blonde, not brown, let alone the shade of brown I was looking for. What was worse was that the blonde was uneven where the roots were platinum blonde and the rest were grassy blonde. They tried to fix it by applying a second round of toner to darken it to brown so I ended up with light brown hair. I paid $288 for this. I asked for a shaggy mullet with bangs and face framing layers - they're super in trend right now and I gave Alvin 10 reference photos which he barely looked at and completely ignored. All he said was "are you sure, it's a big change?" and he proceeded to give me the most horrible, sloppy, uneven Joan Jett mullet without bangs AND blamed my hair type saying that I can't have bangs. I figured an Asian person would be able to give another Asian person bangs and at the least admit to what he CANT do and recommend me something else. HORRIBLE. DO NOT GO. Chopped off probably 4-5 inches because I didn't want my damaged bleached hair anymore. CK guided me through the process and offered suggestions while cutting.
