Just know, the level of care this team puts into securing the sale, swiftly (swiftly) drops off after the check has been sent. That's not to say I wasn't happy with spa, it's just that the feeling is very (very) harsh and apparent. What I would have done differently? - Well I think there's 2 keys to success here: - Deal with Dan only and refuse to work with or talk to anyone else. - Seriously just say no, hang up, or walk away. - Find your own electrician and avoid any recommendation from Fanton Electric LLC. General Advice for the Business: - Detail out what to expect if your customer needs a concrete slab, let them know what to expect and labor might be expected. Give them clarity about placement and associated laws. - Polish your delivery service. Meaning, let the customer know when their item is arriving and give them a window. - Check in with your customer during the process, give the a call, ask them how it's going as their tub is being delivered. - Set up either personal or phone time once their tub is filled and walk them through their first chemical treatment. - Make sure they are not MISSING any treatments as well ;). - And FOLLOW UP WITH YOUR CUSTOMER AFTER THE SALE... I can't begin to tell you how far a 5 min post sale conversation would do you wonders here. Again, I know some of these suggestions sound super nit-picky, but you gotta understand that the level of care and polish you put into the sales portion of the service make these suggestions feel like a requirement. read more

Initially called and he was friendly and seemed organized. Had to call back 4 business days later because I hadn't received anything. Somehow I was missed. Finally got my estimate and day. I called to say I could only do morning that day, was told they couldn't do a time, but I could be put first, which would be 8:30. I waited and waited the day of my appointment, nothing. I called and got attitude about I was told they couldn't give me a time. I had to have my husband leave work, because we'd be next and I was supposed to leave. Tech was friendly when he arrived, but thankfully my husband was there with him. He couldn't find a shutoff for the waterline by the pump and was going to drain the tub to replace the part. I can only imagine the cost if my husband hadn't helped him. It's nice to have my tub fixed, the tech was friendly, but probably won't call them next time. read more

We got our deck built by Decks & Spas a few years ago. We don't have the nicest looking house in our neighborhood. But that did not keep them away. Sai came out and had some good ideas for what kind of deck to build based on the deck entrance off of the second floor dining room and stairs leading down to the backyard. We got it inspected. In fact always get everything you do for your house inspected. There were a few bumps a long the way but they were good about remedying the situation. I definitely recommend this company for deck work. We might not have the nicest looking house but our deck is solid. read more

I bought my hottub from these guys two years ago, after searching for the best deal and after a bunch fairs and hottub events, I decided to go based on price. They had the best price. What great choice. Hottub is amazing, we use it every day. I am writing a review today because I went in for the usual filters and chemicals but also had to replace a jet cause my kid ripped one out. I always get a good deal, not sure why this time I thought I would get gouged. Maybe because it was the first time I bought a part and assumed that's where they make the money back from selling the hot tubs at such a low price. Turned out the part was like $10. I looked on Amazon and it was 35.00. Walked out with a filter, a chemicals and a part for less than $80. So, on top of that I had like 10 questions about my chemicals and the lady at the front desk had such easy to understand answers. They even had my current hottub on sale, and it didn't even bother me cause I thought I got such a great deal the first time and appreciate being able to go in and ask questions. If more than 5 stars were an option... Working with Decks and Spas, particularly Dan, has been a fantastic experience. Our neighbors made the recommendation after they have been extremely pleased with a hot tub they purchased from Dan 4 years ago. I don't think we would have purchased a hot tub, given today's prices, if it hadn't been for what we found at Decks and Spa. We had visited many stores and this was our last attempt. We had a couple of other stores in mind, but after speaking with Dan, there was no way we were going to spend time anywhere else. This was it and after about 1 hour, we knew exactly which hot tub we would purchase. However, we could not purchase it yet, because we did not have a concrete pad or electrical in place. Dan provided us with very specific instructions of what depth and size of concrete would be best. Several months later we returned to Dan, who honored the price he had provided us. When we were mostly ready, they were available to deliver within a day, but gave us an extra day for the final preparations, which we appreciated. Dan informed us of the exact time they would deliver, and they delivered (pun intended). They even made it mobile so that we could finish the electrical work! After the purchase, the follow up was exceptional! We had many questions about balancing all the chemicals. All the questions were answered and we never felt like an annoyance or a burden. We never had to look up information on the manual because we had Dan on speed dial, and he answered, every time. We love our tub and keep checking the chemicals daily, simply because we can't believe that everything stays as it should. The pump continues to circulate beautifully, it retains the heat, the water is very clean, and everything works perfectly. We had a minor issue the day we turned it on and informed Dan the following morning. He addressed the problem by that afternoon, less than 5 hours later! I have learned how busy with group is, yet, we always felt like we were the only and most important customers. Now, THAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I'm not one to leave reviews, but I wanted to take a moment to just say how much I love my hot tub, and the continuously great experience of working with Decks and Spas after about five years. I bought my spa back in early 2018 from Dan, one of the owners. At the time, I was impressed/surprised at how low pressure the sales pitch was. I had done quite a bit of research in advance of checking them out, and I distinctly recall that most of the information Dan shared with me matched that of the information shared by folks on various spa owner community forums (it's no surprise that Decks and Spas were recommended in many of those places). He was pretty blunt about what things were worth the cost, the reality of owning a spa, etc. The purchase experience was great, and he was able to connect me with a fairly priced electrician for the work required to get the hot tub up and running. Over the last five years, I've called Dan (and the other lovely folks there) for tips and tricks when I've had issues, and they've always been super patient and helpful. After five years, I *finally* had a major issue with my circulation pump failing (not unexpected after five years of continuous operation), and they were able to get someone out in about a week to confirm the problem and fix it. The price was very reasonable, and the tech (Daniel--not to be confused with Dan) was great, easy to work with, and even tracked down and fixed a small leak that had developed a few months ago in one of my water lines. Five years later, and I still love the hell out of this spa. We use it 3-4 days per week (except during the hotter parts of the summer) and it's still holding up like a champ. It's definitely one of the better investments I've made in my well-being, and I think a good part of the experience is having such a great local company to help make it easy, and knowing that I'll get fairly priced and quality work done, or quick and helpful tech support, when issues do arise. read more

Bought a Rio 751L there a week ago. I went to three local shops and spoke with 9 or 10 representatives as I shopped. I felt smarter about the product when I went to Decks & Spas. One of my concerns was adding the electrical hook-up. They gave me the contact information of an electrician they recommended. I met with the electrician they recommended before I purchased. He did a thorough inspection and gave a very comprehensive explanation about what I had to do. Because of the way my house is my hook up was a little bit expensive. I got cheaper proposals, but I found that the person from Decks & Spas proposed a more comprehensive installation that would be cosmetically acceptable. The installation crew also did a great job educating me abut the product. I just think the people at Decks & Spas had: * Inventory * Technical professionals * Price That helped me close the deal. Recently had our deck remodeled by these guys. Si and his team are great! We started the process with having Si come to the house and look at our deck and talk through some of the ideas we were all thinking. He drew up a plan and we met with him at Decks & Spas where we became enamored with the hot tubs so, yup, we added that to the plan as well. Si had some great ideas for us to have the perfect outdoor living space. He even suggested a really nice build out for our bbq grill. Work started quickly. The entire work crew were charming and respectful and did a great job. Si came out often to check on progress during the demo and construction process. The service when buying the hot tub was great. Dan was very knowledgeable about the product and took the time to answer all my questions. Installers are awful. My work consisted of removal of an older tub and a gate for access to the yard, installation of a concrete pad, reinstall of a lifter, and rebuild of the gate. From the moment the installation team came into my home they treated ot with disrespect. Building materials thrown about, poor installation, arguing about the work that was agreed to, and cutting down fence support posts they were not authorized to. Very unprofessional and sloppy. In my experience, the money I saved buying a hot tub from them does not offset the time and money I'll have to invest to clean up after them. read more

Dan was very helpful when my spa was not maintaining temperature. I thought that my spa warranty was 10 years but that was only the shell and unfortunately the problem was with my circulation pump and that warranty is only 3 years. Dan helped me diagnose the problem and I can fix it. read more

Veronica in sales, Dan the owner, Jeff the superintendent, the delivery / setup crew, and Joseph (the Electrician they suggested) all were good communicators. The only hiccup was they deemed my soil too soft to pour the slab on and there was a fairly reasonable up charge for additional gravel; probably better result than simply pouring on what I had. Decks & Spas did a fantastic job in fixing our 8 year old South Seas Spas hot tub. Our top panel control stop working for our Jets #2 at the end of July. I initially called Black Pine Spas where we purchased the hot tub, but they did not have the part and it had been on back order for months because of COVID. I found that Decks and Spas would service our hot tub, so I gave them a call. They scheduled the service within next 2 weeks. When the spa technician showed up, he was very careful and detailed with our hot tub. He found that pump #1 was leaking and also needed to be replaced. Fortunately he had a new pump on hand and he was able to replace it at that time after Derrick gave me an estimate. The Spa tech also confirmed the top control panel was bad and pump #2 was ok. Unfortunately the top control panel he brought would not work. So I spoke with Derrick and he would have to order the correct part. They received the new part and the spa tech was back on Sept 16th to replace the top control panel.
