Do not hire this unlicensed "contractor". Michael Mack was…read morehired to install a water feature on our property. An early decision to position the powerful pump above ground resulted in a permanent deafening noise that completely drowns out the sound of the water. The pump can be heard a block away...or from the inside of the house with all doors and windows shut. This was discussed multiple times but Mr. Mack insisted that being able to hear the water was never a stated goal of the project. This is a level of gaslighting I have rarely seen.​ He utterly refused to accept any responsibility for the "finished" work as if the quality of the work was entirely detached from his role. I requested remediation. He refused. I offered to hire someone else to bury the pump. He demanded payment, refused to address the problem, and then put a lien on the house for the tiny remaining balance. Thus is not a serious professional person. He clearly places little value on his reputation and most definitely doesnt care if you are happy woth his work. Just hire someone ethical amd skilled and skip this absolute nightmare.

2 stars because he builds a great fence. However, don't expect him to honor the warranty. Within…read more6 weeks of our fence being built, we have dozens of cracked pickets. We paid him and hired him for inside work he claimed he could do. No reason to think he couldn't, as he advertised interior work on FB. He was supposed to do a shower, seal and stain fence, and replace the cracked and popped pickets under his warranty. Fast forward about 2 months, and I've got a partially tiled floor and some tile up the walls. All done with improper materials, and the shower pan slopped into the walls and a crooked drain, along with the wet wall being crooked and not secured to the adjacent wall. In other words, set up to fail and leak had he completed the job. He stopped showing up, rarely communicating, and when he did it was excuse after excuse. I finally called him out on the shower not even being started correctly. His reason was "Herb was supposed to do that, not me, life happens ", and that he was dealing with stuff in his head. I posted a review on the group I found him and within minutes he messaged after days of no communication saying he would fix the fence under his warranty and refund our money for the shower. We have to completely remove and demo everything he started. He used mastic to set the floor and glass tiles on wall...not industry standard, and the bucket clearly stated not for use on floors that get wet! He set wall tiles with 1/4" hardy board, when it should have been 1/2". After a month he still hasn't returned. Mind you he also left all of his tools here. I was left to clean up all the debris from what he did because he only cleaned up after himself the first day or two. He showed up 4 or 5 days, the last 2 or 3 times he was here 2-3 hours at best. Our most recent communication after I posted on FB again was that he was going through his insurance, and that I shouldn't be posting about this on FB because he wasn't even supposed to do the work. Uh not my problem you agreed to do the work. He not so politely accused me of costing him work and said I just want my money I need to leave him alone so he can make money. He wouldn't give me his insurance info, said to refund me $1800 was going to cost him $4000 with his insurance. Yeah makes zero sense huh? He ended up blocking me after he went off on me. So only consider hiring him if you're ok with your fence not having a warranty. And plan on pickets cracking and popping soon after install because as he says that's what they're supposed to do. Two stars is too many, however, like I said the fence is beautiful, we just have a few dozen pickets we need to replace that should have been done by him!

When I described what I was looking for, the sales lady at Klopfenstein smiled mockingly at me and told me to "try Target." Also, they have an ostentatious decoration carousel that stands motionless in their window, taunting all the kids in all the cars that drive by because they'll never be able to go on it. Allegedly, it functions and they provide rides to their customers' kids....but unless you want to spend an exorbitant amount of money on their overpriced furniture, your kids are not getting on that thing.

Went to Klopfenstein thinking I would get a better quality couch. Spent just under 4k in December…read moreof 2024. Got the couch delivered with multiple defects. Every couch cushion has a very defined line through it, I had multiple cushions with weird stitching (like there was a hole and they tried to patch it). They came out and took care of the back cushions, but told me it would take some time to get the seat cushions corrected. I took off work for the first time they were coming to change the cushions. They canceled on me that day. They came out the next day when my nanny was there. They missed another cushion with the same stitching issue. I got a call four months later saying my parts were in, and I called less than 24 hours later, and never received a call back. I continually called and finally in October of 2025 I got a response. It took another 4-6 weeks for the seat cushions to come in. Delivery was great, but now I'm having a different issue with the brand new cushions. They are already tearing in straight lines. I sent a message a week ago with pictures, have not heard back yet. Overall, just a really poor experience. The couch is very nice but the headache has not been worth it. Our last couch from Ashley lasted us 8 years - I think I'll just go back there because I don't think this couch will a full 2 years.
