Mistakes happen so I wasn't concerned. While checking in we discussed my insurance and copay and the fact it was a medicare advantage plan confirming Dr Hammond was in network. We had a conversation about the copay being $20 or no copay due to Dr Hammond being in network. She assured me she would run my insurance and let me know. The issue occurred when I was checking out and scheduling a follow-up appointment. I was told I owed $200! According to his staff Medicare does not cover the initial exam, only the adjustments. After the fact, I was told "This is for all Medicare patients and not limited to only my Humana Advantage Plan". That being the case, she knew the exam was not covered when I checked in and didn't mention it. This was not a miscommunication but a lack of communication and I feel it was intentionally misleading. Needless to say, I canceled my follow-up appointment and would not recommend this clinic.

After the treatment bc that is all he wanted to do I ended up going to PT (which can be documented) and was in worse neck/back pain. The PT did needling that relieved quite a bit. I then received bill after bill, sending it back that I had asked specifically the cost. I received call after call demanding over 119.00 constantly stating, "Trying to collect a balance" when in fact they stated my United Healthcare would pay it. I had been to a Gentleman, John in KC, KS just too far away. He was amazing and hands on. I told them immediately the outcome of that visit and that I was unhappy. They simply will not respond w/resolution to anything other than you owe us. Too many good Chiropractors out there to do this kind of treatment that literally only keeps you coming back. Do not go to this office w/out exactly knowing costs and type of care. They don't care and choose someone hands on that knows anatomy and physiology of patient. Thank you Tristan for the countless harassing calls/notices when I tried to reach you and by the way have over 800 credit score so obviously I take care of valid billings.

I've been seeing Dr. Riekenberg for almost a year and I don't know how to begin to sing her praises. I have chronic back issues and my neck hadn't moved in 70 years! LOL!! She keeps such thorough notes and so always remembers what our previous visits entailed. On top of that, I often have to bring my three-year-old granddaughter along and Dr. Riekenberg is just incredible with her! Again, she is so kind, patient and loving. I've been to several other chiropractic offices in the area but they are nothing like First Choice! In addition to everything else, I've never had an issue with insurance (Medicare).
