My review is from a stay in January 2025. *^* The Mainstay Inn is a small independently owned hotel in the heart of Phoenixville's commercial corridor - picture an area with great restaurants, breweries, shops, and the legendary Colonial Theater. That is its most valuable draw, as there are no other hotels around - the closest is 2 miles away. I reserved a room, as a local, because the colonial had an all day movie festival that ended at 10:30 PM. Oh, and it was snowing. I parked in the adjacent city owned lot. The hotel has a small number of spots behind the building and they fill up. The room was very clean , though dated. Actual room keys! Patterned bedspread! It was small, as in no chair or desk or whatever. My room faced the parking lot. I was impressed that it was quiet. I felt safe and comfy. The next morning I had muffins & fruit & tea from their breakfast bar before checking out. Staff were professional and friendly. It's a comfy, quiet small hotel in an unbeatable location. Thru are probably already sold out for Blobfest next year - it's that perfect. If you're looking for expansive space and luxury amenities, it may not be for you. I have seen photos of what the new owners are doing and it looks great.

I am really familiar with the event space downstairs. I've attended events and showcases in The Lafayette Ballroom. The room is large and can fit so many people. I believe 300. I've seen it draped, which is stunning and dramatic and left bare, showcasing the exposed bricks walls. Both gorgeous looks! This weekend, the party I was at took place in the lobby, which they decorated and draped how they wanted in their theme, in the downstairs bar area, and in the American Ballroom, which was much more intimate and cozy! The food here is catered strictly by Garces Events and is always a crowd pleaser. I've had tastes of a Cinco de Mayo themed event with mini churros and delicious baby tacos, a fancy event with gorgeous plated ceviches, lamb meatball skewers and other finer dining bites, and a casual buffet this past weekend. All different. All delicious! All events also included passed appetizers also. It seems like you could really create your own special menu here! The staff is wonderful! From the front desk helping me with information on a room, to the valet guys, to our waitress who introduced herself to our table at an our event, to the nice bartender who grabbed me a glass of club and lime long after the event was over, to the other friendly bartender mixing my signature smoking cocktail this past weekend, the entire staff have all been truly helpful, overly friendly and knowledgeable of their facility. The grounds here are gorgeous! There's a lush green golf course and even a helicopter pad for your rich friends haha. From the higher floors and the lobby entrance you can see for miles and it's stunning, especially lit up at night! It's also exceptionally beautiful in the fall from the higher floors! Not sure if he is still there, as this was ten years ago. Recently, I've been back for some meetings, including an all day meeting today. Wow, I was impressed last time when Wolfgang Puck ran the kitchen... Now Iron Chef Jose Garces group runs this place? Unreal... I arrived for my meeting and grabbed a quick continental breakfast. The meeting rooms were well organized, with notepads and pens for the guests. All of the equipment was working in all of the rooms and there were no technical issues at all. During one of our breaks, the breakfast food was gone, but candy and nuts were in it's place. Sweedish fish and almonds became my early morning snack. More meetings and then lunch time. We walk past the hotel section and I find out the food is now run by Jose Garces' group. There was a taco section, where they were making up these perfect little tacos. I was able to make my own corned beef sandiwch, along with homemade potato chips. I grabbed some fried chicken, pork tenderloin, and tortillas with guacamole. The pork was a little dry, but had great spicy flavor. Service excelled as waiters took our drink orders and pulled out chairs for guests to sit down. I decided to grab dessert and went with the pear cobbler with white chocolate sauce, but as soon as I sat down, I ran back to get one more short rib perfect taco. After eating that, I devoured the refreshing pear cobbler. Our next meeting would be starting soon, so we started back, but then we noticed an ice cream machine. Why not grab a small cone for the long walk back? well, I did. More meetings and then we had more snacks. A popcorn machine? Cheese, crackers? Waffles??? Amazing waffles with powedered sugar? I don't need dinner now, because I went to a conference at the Chubb center. Pure gluttony and now I have to wait until next year for my next meeting...

They also have a full size ironing board as well as an iron for you to use. The bathroom is a good size as well. Overall the hotel is good it has some wear and tear due to maintenance because it's an older hotel but it is a nice place to stay downtown. They also have a small indoor pool and small gym/workout room. Definitely recommend for a place to stay.

I had 3 reservations for a 4 night stay as follows:…read more Thursday night May 21, 2026 Friday and Saturday nights, May 22 and May 23, 2026 (These two nights were at a wedding discount price for my son's wedding) Sunday night, May 24, 2026 Where do I begin with the grief of this 4-night stay? Let me start with the major issue, the window blind. No Window Blind It was only when I got into the hotel room that I found out there were no window blinds to cover the window. (The blind was sitting in the corner of the room. See image) I was not informed of this at the front desk when I checked in. I tried to call the front desk, but no one answered. So, I went downstairs and then the woman at the front desk informed me that some rooms had an issue with the window blinds. It was Memorial Day weekend. The hotel was filled; they were accommodating guests from 3 different weddings, so there wasn't another room to switch to. Fortunately, I had some safety pins with me and the woman at the front desk came to help me pin the slim side curtain closed so I had some privacy and to block out the outside lights as much as possible. (See image) I found out during my stay that: The blinds are lowered and raised by a motor to make it handicapped accessible. The hotel had previously experienced a blackout that burned out the motor. When I checked in, the hotel was waiting for a new motor to replace the damaged one When I checked out on my last day, I was informed that the company that made the motor is out of business; the inoperable motorized blinds affected 3 rooms. Okay, there were things about the 'out of commission' blind that were out of the hotel's control. But all the same, I was inconvenienced, so I asked for a discount to compensate me for not having a window blind. I was told I already had a wedding discount price. Excuse me, but that wedding discount was for only 2 of the 4 nights I stayed, and the cost of my entire stay included working a window blind. Really, Hotel Warner, do better. But there's more . . . Room entry cards As previously mentioned, I had 3 reservations for my 4-night stay. Even though I was in the same hotel room for my entire stay, I was told I must come to the front desk to check out and check in for each reservation. The woman at the front desk couldn't explain why. The next day I found out from another front desk staff member that for each new reservation, they had to issue new room entry cards. Okay, that makes sense. But why couldn't that be explained to me when I first checked in. When I checked in, I let the front desk know my brother would be coming in for the wedding and he would be staying in my room. I gave them his name and the date and time he would be arriving. I asked the front desk to make him a room entry card because when he arrives, I would be elsewhere getting my hair and makeup done for the wedding. Even the next day when I got my second set of room entry cards for the second reservation, the front desk confirmed with me that his name was in the system for my room. And yet . . . in the middle of getting ready for the wedding, I get a call from my brother saying they won't give him a room entry card unless I give them my permission. He handed his phone to the front desk staff, and I said it was okay for my brother to have a room entry card. However . . . instead of making a duplicate card of the cards I had with me, they made my brother a replacement card, which deactivated the room entry cards I was holding. Thank goodness we returned to the hotel room at the same time. ~Sigh~ Hotel Warner, do better Information sheet When I checked in, I was told of the hours of the breakfast. I knew I was going to remember the times, and I asked if they had that information printed out to hand guests, but the hotel did not. However . . . the hotel did have a sheet of area restaurants that would give a discount to the hotel guests. (See image) So it begs the question, if the hotel prints up a list of the area restaurants, why can't it have on the back side of that sheet the times of breakfast and the other amenities that were posted in the elevators. (See image) In addition . . . that information sheet could include the location of the breakfast (i.e. on the 1 floor, not the ground floor) and the locations of the ice machines. Both of these I found out from fellow guests or called the front desk (which did answer that time). Also, printed sheets handed out at the front desk or left in rooms can be updated more easily than the sign in the elevators. For instance, I was told that the sign in the elevation that says 'Day passes available to the YMCA' was no longer accurate. Speaking of information . . . The hotel didn't advertise that they provided free Wi-Fi in the room, the front desk or anywhere else in the hotel. I found out when I was checking out that the password to the WiFi is taped in the envelope that contains the room entry cards

On May 8, 2026, my husband and I had lodgings for an overnight stay after attending a family wedding. Our accommodation was clean, noise level was quiet, and hotel was clean and modern. The restaurant housed the after-wedding party which consisted of french fries, chicken tenders, various egg rolls, and dessert; all of which was very good. I would recommend staying here based on the above, but the outstanding customer service support raised it to another level. Here's my story. We live in New Jersey, roughly 2 1/2 hours away. At approximately 2:30 in the afternoon my husband received a call from the hotel telling him I had left my pocketbook in the safe. Anyone who has done this before knows the sinking feeling of leaving behind a wallet filled with credit cards, driver's license, medical insurance cards, and cash. Since it was a Saturday, hotel management agreed to send it overnight via FedEx on Monday; I was asked to call to confirm delivery. On Monday I spoke with Jean (at the front desk) and explained the reason for my call. I informed her that I hadn't verified the contents of my pocketbook and asked if she could do this before shipment. Once Jean located the package whereabouts, she had to ensure the front desk had coverage. She retrieved the package which had been prepared for mailing, unsealed it and confirmed its contents. Jean then informed me it would be driven to the FedEx office for shipment. Thank you Jean for staying positive and patient with me. Later that day, I missed a call from the manager, Johnny. His voice mail said that our credit card was declined (human error) and asked that I provide another. His message also gave detailed shipment options and costs. Johnny returned to the hotel. I called back shortly after with another credit card. The package was driven back again, and the credit card transaction was approved. In speaking with Johnny, I asked who found my pocketbook as I wanted to thank the individual. He informed me that it is hotel protocol to have a manager check the vacated rooms to see if guests have left any personal belongings behind. The manager's name is Doreen; however, we never had the pleasure of a conversation. Thank you Johnny for your persistence in getting my pocketbook to me. Thank you Doreen for your honesty and ensuring my pocketbook was turned in to hotel management. To conclude, I applaud the honesty, willingness to assist, and patience of Doreen, Jean, and Johnny. I hope the home office, which I will contact, will take note of their commitment to providing the Radnor Hotel's guests with outstanding service and to a very happy ending to what could have been a sad story.
