Review for Homewood Suites - 1200 Pennbrook Parkway, Lansdale, PA 19446…read more My family and I checked into Homewood Suites on Monday, November 10, 2025, and unfortunately our experience ended in one of the most stressful and disappointing situations we have ever dealt with at any hotel. From the beginning, we tried to be upfront and honest about our situation. We spoke with the General Manager, Jonathan, about needing to stay long term while waiting for my mother and stepfather's delayed Social Security checks. We paid over $800 upfront and continued paying $300 weekly to keep our balance down. Jonathan told us directly that he made the final decisions at the property and assured us we could stay until the checks arrived. Based on his word, we believed we had stability and a place to stay while waiting for the situation with Social Security to be resolved. However, this past weekend everything changed without warning. We were abruptly woken up by the assistant manager telling us we needed to pack and leave, despite our agreement with Jonathan. When Jonathan came in, he suddenly claimed that corporate had now become involved--even though he had previously told us he was the final decision-maker. Promises that we could stay until November 28th and even store some of our belongings were suddenly reversed with no explanation. What made the situation worse was how quickly the staff shifted their tone. Someone who had been supportive at first suddenly changed their approach, and instead of working through a solution, the situation escalated to the point where the police were called--something that never should have happened. We were treated disrespectfully, dismissed, and spoken to in a way no paying guest deserves. Because of the sudden change in decisions and the lack of honesty from management, my family was left without a place to go. We did everything in good faith--paid what we could every week, communicated openly, and relied on the commitments made to us. Those commitments were not honored. As a business owner myself, I understand how policies work, and I would never tell a customer that I make final decisions if that wasn't the truth. The lack of transparency and professionalism from management at this location directly contributed to my family becoming displaced. I will not be returning to this hotel, and I will be taking appropriate actions regarding how this situation was handled. No family should ever be put through what we experienced here.

From the moment we arrived at the Holiday Inn Express we were excited and thankfully, the experience mostly lived up to our expectations. The lobby was beautiful and welcoming. Our room was clean, spacious, and thoughtfully set up. Small touches like the neatly folded toilet tissue and the cozy layout of the room made us feel at ease right away. The beds were awesome. The mattresses were incredibly comfortable. Definitely the best part of our stay! The pillows were a bit too soft for my taste. I personally prefer firmer support, but that's more of a personal preference than a complaint. The room also came with convenient amenities like a microwave, a mini fridge, a dresser, nightstand, a coffee maker, an ice bucket, fair dryer, body wash, liquid hand soap, body lotion, shampoo, conditioner, and plenty of lighting. It made settling in really easy, especially traveling as a family. Now for the minor downsides. There was a stain on the sheets, one on the curtain, lampshade, and bathroom shower curtain. Something I've noticed happens even in the nicest hotels, which I've never quite understood. Luckily, I usually bring my own bedding or request extra linens, so it wasn't a major issue for me personally. Another great perk was the complimentary continental breakfast. We enjoyed eggs, home fries, turkey bacon, pancakes, fresh fruit, chocolate milk, coffee, cinnamon rolls, cereal, croissants, and yogurt. It's always nice to wake up and have breakfast options ready, especially when traveling with kids. It made our mornings that much smoother. The hotel also offers an outdoor pool that's open from 11AM to 8PM, a 24-hour fitness center, complimentary Wi‑Fi, free self‑parking, and a 24/7 business center offering printing, fax, and workstations. All in all, it was a great stay and a perfect way to wrap up the summer before school starts. We left feeling relaxed and grateful for the quality and value we got during our trip. Would we come back? Absolutely!

I remember the very first time I stayed in a Marriott hotel, I thought it was the height of luxury…read more The hotel was so elegant looking, we were greeted by the front desk every time we came in to the hotel and our rooms were so much better than anything any other hotel had. Oh how I miss those days! This hotel is a newer hotel, located in a prime spot just off the PA Turnpike (NE extension Lansdale exit) and has a nice large parking lot that is free. The lobby of the hotel was beautifully decorated for the holiday and had a table with gingerbread houses made by some of the staff. There is a long banquette in front of the TV with a beautiful gas fireplace. There is a sort of dining area where you can sit for the breakfast you pay for since it isn't included (when did this stop?). The rooms are very modern with sleek appliances and a sort of coffee station with a very small fridge below. Why then am I only giving this 3 stars? If not for the newness and modernity I would be giving it 2 stars. The treatment was severely lacking. When we checked in, the guy checking us in was on the rude side. We were given the feeling that we had interrupted his contemplation of his navel lint and he resented that. Then there are the beds. The pillows were like rejects from a lesser quality hotel in that they were very flat & lumpy at the same time. The sheets on my bed didn't have the necessary elastic in order to meet the definition of a 'fitted' sheet and I woke with all of the sheets wrapped around me and I was sleeping on a bare mattress. The maid service was something where much was left to be desired. Yes, it was the holiday weekend and had she been nicer or the hotel more accommodating then maybe we would've agreed to not having maid service on Christmas Day. It was like I wanted to tell her that smiling isn't a crime. She was very grumpy. Additionally, my sheets weren't changed, she just made the bed. How do I know this? Unless Marriott invested in fitted sheets with broken elastic, then I had the exact same non-fitted sheet on my bed for the entire stay. There was no vacuuming, no dusting and there is NO WAY you can tell me that they followed Covid cleaning because of included picture with the rust stain bleeding from the hand rail in our shower that got longer & longer each day. I wiped it with a face towel my last day & left it on the counter...shock! It was easily wiped! The last thing, and yes, it WAS a holiday weekend so I'm more forgiving for this. When we opened our drapes, there in the center of the window was this very large deposit of bird feces. What a joy to look at every day! It's such a shame, truly. There are no more dependably nice hotels any longer. They are all hit or miss. Lately they are more of a miss than a hit.

Large store complex 2-3 minutes away: Target, Lowes, Best Buy, Five Below and other stores. Large parking lot...never had an issue finding a spot, even when coming back to the hotel later in the evening. Check-in and our processes were simple. All staff at front counter, breakfast staff and cleaning staff were all great...friendly and efficient. Room was well-kept. The full kitchen (full fridge, dual burner stove, full sink and microwave) came in very handy during the longer stay. The separate living area, with its L-shaped sofa-bed, ottoman and TV was great if bringing the family. The bedroom was neat with two queens beds, lots of surfaces and large TV. There is also a small desk and chair and also led into the bathroom sink and separate toilet/shower room. I do prefer to have all (sink/toilet/shower) behind one door...but not a big deal. TVs had lots of channels. Wifi was a bit hit or miss...seemed to be better on computers but when using iphones/ipads, it kept requiring to sign into the Hilton Honors network and many times giving errors after the room credentials were entered. Though the bandwidth was more than adequate once signed in. Lots of outlets, lights and USB outlets all around. Heating/cooling unit worked as expected. Gym was neat and well-maintained with all the necessary machines. Though on my first visit, there were cups and no water...and my second visit, there was water but no cups ?! I ended up going to the front desk where they gave me a bottle of water. Did not use the pool, but it looks clean. Ice machines on every floor as well as vending machines with $1.50 20oz soda bottles...which was great. Laundry machines on main floor near gym. Breakfast was adequate...a few hot items: eggs and sausage, a variety of breads, cereals, juices, yogurts and fruit. Good enough to sit down for a quick bite or to grab a few items before hitting the road. Little pantry area where you can buy snacks and convenience-store-type foods near the front desk. Overall a great experience...recommended for those staying in the area. Lots of perks for those looking for longer stays and waiting to feel more "at home".

Bed bugs, assault in the shower, lies, incompetence and zero customer service…read more This is the worst hotel I have stayed at in 43 years of life. Where do I start? When we arrived at the hotel, we notified the dayshift that an organization we work with will be paying for our stay. They emailed the organization an invoice so they could pay for it. The representative told me they never got the email so I told the front desk to email it again. Again the organization claimed they never got an email. So I got a call at 11:30 at night to come down the front desk because they were going to kick us out of the hotel. I went down there and insisted they never sent an invoice to which they claimed I was wrong and the email was sent. So I had them send me an email only to find out their email doesn't work. So they were ready to throw me on the street because they don't even have a working email that can properly invoice customers. I took a picture of the invoice and sent it to my organization and it was paid within 30 minutes. This was the start of the hotel's complete incompetence. After the first night, we woke up to find our son had dozens of bedbug bites all over his body. Because my wife gave him a bath the night before, there were no bites there before sleeping in this hotel. We notified the Front Desk person right away who defensively claimed they had "never received a complaint of bedbugs."A quick Google search of their recent reviews revealed that they have received dozens of online complaints about bedbugs in the last year alone. So we had to move all of our stuff into another room. After spending one night in that room, I woke up to take a shower. Five minutes into the shower, it felt like I got shot in the leg. I opened my eyes and realized the Spicket at the bottom that fills into the bath shot at me like a missile while water was coming out of an exposed pipe, thus disabling the showerhead from working. I quickly tried to jam the Spicket back onto the pipe, only to have it shoot at my shin two more times until I finally had to finish my shower by jamming my head underneath the pipe that was in the tub to rinse the shampoo out of my hair. We brought the Spicket down to the front desk and they also claimed nothing like that has happened before. I'm starting to see a pattern here. Finally, we did a small load of laundry in the washer and eventually put it into the dryer. After an hour, the dryer finished its cycle and the clothes were still soaking wet. So I went down to the Front Desk to convert a couple dollars into quarters. The man at the front desk insisted they didn't have any quarters, which is funny because I just purchased some food from their commissary the night before and paid in quarters. More lies, obviously. So not only does this hotel lie to you constantly, they provide zero customer service, deny any complaints ever occur, have spickets that shoot at you like missiles, and while you sleep at night, bedbugs will saturate your body and feed on your children. I've stayed at more than 50 hotels in my life. I can honestly say that living in a combat zone in Afghanistan for 15 months was more comfortable than two nights at this pathetic excuse for a hotel. And frankly, I'm not even totally upset about the issues, but rather how we got no customer service when dealing with them. Stay far away!
