I rated them with three stars because my experience was pleasant, however there are some things that it may be helpful to know before deciding to go there that they weren't forthcoming about. I want to say first that I didn't have insurance when I went in October, 2014. I'm not sure how much difference that may make but I'll let you decide. First, their pricing for all their procedures ran roughly double the prices listed on the healthcare bluebook. Also, my x-rays were NOT transferable. I got a flyer in the mail with a coupon for a new patient special, which was an initial consultation, an exam, x-rays, and cancer screening for just under$30. I called and tried to get some idea of what to expect as far as prices, like all other dentist offices I had talked to up to that point they would NOT give me ANY numbers. I know it all depends but they should be able to at least give a high/low of the procedure I was asking about so I have some idea of what I'm getting into, but they don't. When I went in for my appt., it was a nice, comfortable office and everyone was very friendly. Dr. Teichmiller seemed to be very thorough in determining what I was important to me concerning my dental health (beautiful smile, just healthy teeth, etc.). She seemed to be very thorough with the exam in determining what I needed. The x-ray technician was also very friendly and it was an all-together pleasant visit. When I got to the counter to pay I was told that I'd need to pay for two more consultations before we could move forward so the total would be just under $180. That sounded fair to me, I knew the $30 was too good to be true and that there would be a catch, so I paid up and made an appt. for the next consult. I assumed that if I didn't like the prices they gave me I would just take my x-rays and go somewhere else as I thought that ANY time you pay for x-rays they're yours. I just honestly didn't think there would be a loophole around that and didn't think to look for it in the paper I signed agreeing to payment of the $180. They showed me later, it was right there hidden in plain sight. To make a long story at least a little shorter, her prices were way outside my budget and when I tried to have my x-rays transferred somewhere else and they wouldn't I really felt like I had been had. I was put in a spot where I had to decide whether to go on and pay exorbitant prices for the procedures I would need or accept that I had just thrown $180 to the wind. I feel $180 was plenty fair that my x-rays should have been mine to take elsewhere. If they want to continue with that policy I think they should make it crystal-clear from the start. Hiding it like that makes them look dishonest. If anyone knows of or finds a dentist that accepts a fair and honest price, please write a review. They make it so difficult to shop around in the medical and dental community, which makes reviews so very important. read more
