I had severe infection and swelling with an exposed abscessed. I looked into it a little bit but had no idea people have problems with Aspen as a whole. I understand they deal with a lot of people on the daily but some of the things are just inexcusable. You still have patients who pay money for you to treat them. Dont listen to the machine prompts on the phone for confirming your appointment. If you do, it will send you to an AI assistant that they apparently don't have access to knowing you confirmed with it. I called this TWICE. Once to confirm it, and another to see if the "ai assistant " actually confirmed my appointment and it said it did. This feature shouldn't even be here as a whole if its useless. Make sure you confirm it with someone from the office OR they will reschedule literally the hour of the appointment. The dental assistants are probably the best ones that I interacted with. Receptionist is friendly and just doing her job despite it being inconvenient for a lot of people. Again, I know that this place is very busy. You can still write dental plans though, I don't understand why every time I went in there someone was confused of the care/game plan. My initial visit we planned to pull the tooth out that was causing me a lot of problems at the moment, my first molar. I knew I had more problem teeth but that one is what I needed care for first since it was causing me pain that kept me up all night, swelling, etc. I guess despite discussing this tooth the dentist that was scheduling me decided to write in a whole other tooth, despite it being verbally and thoroughly discussed. On the day of my appointment it was near closing, my dentist refused to wait for the anesthesia to kick in on my tooth despite already attempting to make it loose, drill into it, and yank it. She left me with an incomplete extraction and sent me on my way. Got rescheduled for two days after. The next appointment I got another dentist. He started immediately trying to talk to me about my other teeth, which was a bit pointless since I was of full acknowledgement of it from the initial exam. I guess we all got lost in the plans (it wasnt fully discussed-- and now looking on the paper my initial dentist wrote down the SECOND molar for the care plan. which I KNOW FOR A FACT. Was not the one she tried to pull Monday. The one we discussed the whole time). We went back and forth a little bit, he was professional but it still was redundant. He tried to talk me into a root canal on the tooth that was already attempted to be extracted-- which I declined for root canals all together. Then he suggested pulling the second molar AND the first on the same day, which wasn't discussed. He refused to believe that my first molar was attempted to be pulled. I understand something was written differently on the paper, but I don't understand why I was put up to question. He brought in the dentist from Monday to confirm it. It felt like a weird humiliation ritual while she tried to make me look like a liar. Speaking to me slow, continuing to argue with me. She claimed that the reason why my tooth wasn't pulled Monday is because it was "hard to pull" since it was impacted in my mouth. Which we both knew was false and NOT the tooth she tried to extract.Why? Why wouldn't I remember you sticking a needle into my inflamed gum of my first molar as you tried desperately to numb it? I felt absolutely everything. So I remember good and well what tooth you tried to pull out. Even with all this, why wouldn't someone remember the tooth you tried to yank out. I went home with more intense swelling and Monday from her failed extraction so of COURSE I remember it. Still I dont need to prove myself. After a bit of going back and forth they finally just agreed to pull the tooth. The dentist DID NOT check my blood pressure at all before jumping in, which could be dangerous. Made an appt with Aspen Dental on June 30th for July 2nd. They called me 6 times asking the same questions. I told them they've called x amount of times already asking the same questions. Stay away from this place. I went to get a couple fillings. Was told that I needed a deep cleaning before getting my cavities filled, which I had no real issue with. I went into an office and spoke with a guy, that came across like a used car salesman. He went over the work that needed to be done, the cost and made the appointments. He said that my appointments would have to be split into three separate appointments. He said that the cleaning had to be done over two days, due to insurance not paying for numbing the entire mouth in one session. So, two appointments were made for cleaning and then a third appointment for the actual fillings. I show up for the first appointment. As I'm sitting in the waiting area, I notice that a couple people had came in for their appointments, and the receptionist told them they there were late for their apointment. They looked confused when told this. They acted like they were going out of their way to see them after being "late". I don't think anything of it at the time. I go in for my first cleaning. The numbing that I was told would be done, was not done. It was extremely uncomfortable and painful at times. When I came for my second appointment, i had the save experience as the people that had came in, on my first appointment. They told me that I was late for my appointment. I was not late, I was actually 15 minutes early. Fortunately, I kept the appointment cards that the shady guy, in the office, had given me, and also the text reminder for my appointment that was sent, both showing that I was NOT late for my appointment. Even so, they act like they are going out of their way to still see you, because you are "late". Same experience with the second cleaning appointment. Nothing used to numb. I kept flinching. The girls said she could numb if i needed. I said yes. Still, did not numb. My mouth was bleeding considerably upon leaving. I had a laceration on my bottom, left gum that swelled and bleed for several days. When I got ready for my third appointment for my fillings, they tried to call me the day off to cancel my appointment, after I had already taken off work for the appointment. I saw there message on the way to my appointment, so I called them. They said they canceled my appointment and would reschedule, without being able to give a reason. I told the receptionist that if my spinning was canceled, then I did not want to reschedule, after the issues that I've already had. I told her that i wanted my money refunded for the fillings ( you have to pay in full before they do any work). She said, hold on and let me talk to them. I was on hold for about ten minutes, when she came back and told me that they could see me that evening. I said that was fine. That was a mistake. I should have saved myself trouble, canceled and gotten my money refunded. I went in that evening, and I'm almost certain that they were just firing me in between other appointments, just to see me and Jeri from having to refund my money. The dentist rushed drilling my teeth and filling them. He seemed was done with the entire thing in about ten minutes. They did not feel good afterwards, and feel rough. Also, needless to say, about three weeks later, while driving to work, the filling fell out. I promptly called them to tell them that the filling they placed had fell out. They asked what I was eating when it came out. I informed her that i wasn't eating anything. I was driving. They made me an appointment to come back in and have it repaired, two weeks out. I went in two weeks later, and all the dentist done was look at my mouth, and tell me they would make ANOTHER appointment, in ANOTHER two weeks to repair it!! Already frustrated, I waited another two weeks, went in to my appointment (that I again took work for), and in the way there see a text that they had just sent earlier, telling me that they had once again cancelled my appointment!!! I went in and asked the receptionist went my appointment was cancelled, and couldn't get a good reason. She offered to reschedule, i told her no thanks i would not be back and wanted my future cleaning appointments canceled as well. Now, i have a tooth that is drilled out with no filling, which is uncomfortable, because if their shoddy work. I'm considering making an appointment with my attorney because I and my insurance already paid for this filling. I feel like they need to pay for the filling and time missed from work. I went in for scheduled cleaning at 5. I had to wait til 5:30 and then they stayed that I have to reschedule because I needed X-rays and then have surgeon look over this X-ray and that was going to take all of 1:30 but it took 30 minutes. But the lady dentist took off at 6:30 when they was supposed to be there till 7 so they are trying to reschedule me after the X-rays we're done I waited a. My office experience there as I was there about 5-6 years ago and will NEVER go back! I went in for a cleaning only and was put through a comprehensive examination which was totally unnecessary. They acted in a manner of fact way and never asked my permission. Turns out they came up with a list of things they recommended to do which added up to a large sum of money (can't remember how much) that was totally unnecessary giving as I only wanted a cleaning. During the examination, the lady dentist touched me what I consider inappropriately on the shoulder/arm a couple of times and made me feel uncomfortable. (I know when I'm being hustled. I was bored on a Tuesday, but not last Tuesday.) I never got my cleaning and left as conveniently as possible. read more

They get a star simply because Dr Harvey was really very good with an excellent bed side manner. I called because I had a broken crown. Spent 90 minutes doing a "comprehensive evaluation " only to be told I needed a cleaning and a new crown. I'm not a dentist and knew this. Xray girl caused additional pain cramming (not an exaggeration) xray things into my mouth. Then...no new crown without cleaning first and no appointment until I coughed up $1000. Stay away they say your to pay this much so you pay the full bill...then when your done they tell you that you still owe money and tell you they wont fix your dentures till its payed and to leave the building...and screw up your Credit....trust me they did it to my husband..and I even had to get a refund on my dentures because they made them wrong and got pissy when I told them they hurt... if you do use them good luck!! read more

Do not waste your time and money. They don't know how to do their jobs. Besides being charged over $600 for a crown they never did, ​ have had nothing but problems with them. They don't know how to schedule properly. They are real nice when selling their denture services but once they have your money they don't give a crap about helping you with your continued denture issues. I went to Aspen in Decatur Al today. I had a filling fall out and I told them I only want the tooth examined. I wanted it filled again or pulled. I wasn't interested in all my teeth being examined, only that one tooth. Undoubtedly, if they can't sell you everything, they don't want to see you. I was sent away with no help at all. Their website states they do emergency dental work. Seems they feel you (the customer) works for them when in all reality, they work for you. They really don't deserve a rating of 1. I had my first appt. yesterday. Had xrays and exam. The person who examined me was extremely disinterested and called out numbers very quickly without explaining what they were. They told me that I had gum disease and bone loss and that I needed to have "treatment", not just a cleaning, and that I needed to talk to the office manager about financing. I was getting "the feeling" about this time and he told me that the treatment that I needed would be $2600.00. I told him that I didn't have insurance and he stated that I could have this financed. I explained that I wouldn't pay this amount and he was able to cut it down to $1600. I signed the agreement and by the next day I realized that I was getting scammed (by my perspective). I tried to call back and no one would answer when I tried to get through to the office manager. I tried 4 times, then called and asked for new appointments. Someone answered on the first ring. WOW. When I told her who I was and what I wanted, the office manager was out of the office until Monday, but that she would Email him for me. How nice of her. I recommend that you should stay away from this place, it is obviously an intricate system to invent a "new" procedure to clean your teeth and obviously your pocket. read more

Very odd people (dare I say crooked). From the moment I called to schedule I could tell they were shady because the rep kept commenting on how my insurance wasn't good. Then, when I get to the appointment the hygienist tells me I have periodontal (gum) disease and that I need the treatment for it. I dispute what she is saying because I had exams in February and the dentist didn't mention anything like that (They insist on giving "free" exams). They say dentists ignore periodontal disease. I don't believe that and then she gets huffy when her scare tactics don't work and says she will let the dentist tell me. The dentist is no better. She says my smile is beautiful and she would hate for it to fall out if I don't have the treatment. Mind you, I went in to have ONE WISDOM TOOTH extracted. Now, I don't even wanna go back for that because they seem shady. Trying to qualify me for a line of credit that I don't want, using scare tactics, and being generally unscrupulous. Now that I can think clearly and not in so much pain I can write how I feel about my 1st visit to the Decatur Al office . Only good thing was the shot did not hurt nor the extraction. The hygienist was kind and polite. The x-rays they have to take are extremely painful! Everyone's mouth is not the same size they make you bite down to hold the plastic in your mouth pushing against gums hard and the teeth that are in pain. Dr. Ross was cool but kind of rude. I told her that decaying teeth run in my family both my parents had full set dentures. She belittled me and stated I'm not brushing and if I am I'm doing it wrong. Then she says I will brush with you like I'm a 5 year old . I brush and floss multiple times a day and still just have a horrible set of teeth. She basically says I'm lying my story does not add up for to be my age and have so many issues . My old dentist in another state knows my family history and the history of my teeth. He also knows that genetics can and has affect my teeth. If she would do her research on this 1st before talking someone down would make her such a better dentist. I felt horrible after I left because I already no my smile isn't the best and she made sure to let me know it's ugly and to make it pretty it will be over 13gs! read more
