I was scheduled with another doctor she asked what was the issue. I expressed my concerns. She looked and said the margins needed to be dropped. She said according to his notes he had planned on redoing it. This was a surprise to me because this wasn't discussed at the last visit. So no detailed treatment plan. I was told that he would re do the problem at no extra cost to me. Well, I had to take time off 3 additional times for something that could have clearly been addressed before. My Family was looking for a dentist closer to us when I had an emergency with my tooth. I have so many regrets coming here. Clear communication is a plus for me and not to hear the doctor say who's next when you are trying to tell Them that there is still discomfort . I was also told they don't go behind each other's work. They work in the same office. So you would be stuck with the same doctor regardless if you were satisfied with the job done. The examination was over 80 dollars. I was asked where is the problem and I pointed (never had pain the chip was cutting my tongue) he said lets take x-rays and that was the exam. I went to see Dr. Franks for my yearly dental implant X-rays and cleaning. I see Dr. Franks once a…read moreyear and my regular dentist, Dr. Howell once a year. I arrived early and checked in. To my surprise I was called to go back to the exam room early. My dental technician was very nice and explained that she would be taking X-rays of my implants and then would clean my teeth. One of my dental implants on the top was a little sensitive. Dr. Franks came in to take a look. She explained to me that when this dental implant was made and installed, the material used for the implant post was what all practices were using at the time. Times have changed and people are being encouraged to remove this type of implant post because there is a greater success rate of keeping your implant healthy. My dental tech did a deep clean on my implant with numbing gel. Dr. Franks wrote a note to my regular doctor, explaining her recommendation of obtaining the latest and the greatest dental implant post. I suppose the next time I go see Dr. Howell, I will have to get her to look at my implant and then give me an estimate for the new one. If I do not take action, bacteria will get inside the area where the implant is, and I'll have to have either surgery to clean the area out, which that is no fun. Or have the whole implant completely removed, more bone added, and then another implant put in later. That would take about two years. I know from experience being proactive causes the least amount of pain and money. I do recommend Dr. Franks and her team. The teeth cleaning at a periodontist office is more thorough than a regular doctors office. Or for me in this case, it was much more thorough than the other cleanings I've had in the past. 5/5

He makes recommendations and provides advice on maintaining healthy gums. My hygienist, Kathy, does a terrific job in analyzing my gum health and cleaning my teeth. She does an extensive cleaning and ensures I am comfortable. Staff is friendly and personable. Insurance filings with my primary and secondary insurance usually go without a hitch. If there is an issue, they work hard to resolve. They are good enough to file for me even though they are not a preferred provider with my primary insurance.
