I scheduled an appointment online and it was so simple. I had an insurance issue and Brianne was a 10 out of 10 helping me.

I was assured by Dr English I would have access to the scan, if it was beyond his level of expertise. I paid 380.00 for the scan to see if Apex dental could do the dental work I needed. Now I have personally been denied my records including to another dentistry office and North Alabama Oral Facial specialist. I will say Dr English was always good to me and I trusted his opinion of my dental needs. I sadly would not recommend their dental practices and front office personnel. Update Dr English called this morning and acknowledged the impact of the issue and inconvenience this may have caused. I appreciated his understanding and he politely explained the troubles of sharing the Scan. He was so kind to take time out of his day and acknowledge the issue with being able to share the X-ray. He even discussed my particular case in detail . I thanked him for the call and appreciated him for personally reaching out to me.

And I surprised that Dr. English charged me to fix his slupy job, and told me for crown no warrant period, not for one day. Full disclosure, I did not tell them about me being pregnant when I made an appointment over the phone because I've had cleaning before at other dentistry while I was pregnant and I did not have any issues. Apparently, this dentistry, you MUST take x-rays before you do anything. Whether it's basic cleaning or not, they have to take x-rays and I was told that it's part of their dentist's liability. I just told them that all I want is just cleaning and see if there's anything bad/cavity, etc and I really do not want to take x-rays. Like none of dentists I've met told me i should take x-rays to do any further procedure with them, i feel like whether you are pregnant or not, that should be your choice. I did some research and it seems like its OK to have a quick dental x-ray while you are pregnant but I just felt iffy about it and I told them i do not want to take x-rays. From me walking in to me getting denied by this dentistry, I think i spent a little bit over an hour. For nothing. It was my fault i did not mention that over the phone, however, I think that this issue could've been addressed a lot sooner. Again, I understand that every doctor/dentist has a different standard and liability, but I've just never seen any dentistry who refuses you because you opt out an x-ray due to your personal situation. I ended up calling another dentistry literally right next to them and they told me that I could come in for a cleaning without getting x-rays. Staff at the front desk and Michelle, who was going to clean my teeth, they were all very nice and helpful though! I hate that I left there without getting anything done but maybe I will come back later.

While…read moreunder sedation he added an additional bridge talking to me as I was going in and out of sedation telling me I would be charged for it,we went back and forth because his financial team had already charged me for four of them. This is where the nightmare starts. They never had me sign the contract for them but wrote them up and quoted them so there was a lot of confusion especially between he and his staff. He kept adding fees. First red flag! We are now in 2026 a year later I am still waiting on that bridge I am out of over $12,000 closer to $13,000. My calls are constantly ignored. I have been trying to contact him through office and personal phone since December for my final effort of trying to resolve the issues with no response until Jan 6,2026 with a text from him saying that I will not get my bridge or a refund and that I have 7 days to put in writing how I want to resolve this issue. I couldn't believe it. There was a portion that he put on a payment plan I paid it off, and the plan ended in July but his staff continued to charge my card until Dec 2025. I have proof that an agreement was made to stop the payments. The bank has classified it as bank wire fraud!. The last bridge broke twice in a matter of two weeks after each time I received it, a year later my gums is still too swollen for the bridge to be placed on, however I don't have the bridge because he's refusing to pay the laboratory bill even though he has been paid in full from me. I have no bridge,no night guard and he is refusing to give me my money back so that I can get service elsewhere. He's allowing his pride to get in the way instead of doing the right thing because he feels another employee has something to do with it. Which the employee doesn't I had made up my mind that the last time I left his office after paying for the $783 for the night guard I never received he told me to go to Walmart and purchase a cheap one over the counter that I was done because I've paid you all of this money but I have no product now he's saying I am not due a refund even for the money that they illegally took out of my account, he's trying to tack on to my bill saying I owe for chair time, laboratory time and some other bogus items that has nothing to do with my issues. I've been in many temporary bridges for this same left lower area that I've been trying to get this permanent bridge for a year now with the last one being on now for about two months or maybe more. He's arrogant, and takes no Responsibility for his errors. He had had countless conversations with me always blaming his staff for the problems I've had in his office which I was believing until I started paying attention and realizing that it's him. He doesn't care about the position he puts you in medically or financially. This is insurance and bank fraud and I will not be taken advantage of. I wish I had read the reviews before going but I trusted the worker who referred me.How can you knowingly look at yourself in the mirror and sleep peacefully knowing that you are taking advantage of others especially senior citizens who are trying to sow seed into your business. This type of behavior and practices makes it hard to support black businesses and how can you work for someone with such negative integrity and character? Makes one question that. Everyone can't be wrong about him. While he comes across as caring and nice he's manipulative and doesn't care. I tried even begged him to do right by me and he refused. I'm not sure where he gets the idea that he can keep someone's money and product. I'm walking around in severe pain and discomfort because I only can eat on one side and now I can't even eat on that side anymore and my bite is off and unaligned the back of this temporary bridge has broken off so my tooth is exposed I have told him all of this he and his staff just don't care. I tried to do the right thing and paid him and now I'm out of money, I am emotionally and physically exhausted and financially drained. To know that this is a common pattern of his is heartbreaking how could he still be open: Do yourself a favor save yourself time, money, stress and the headache stay away.

They told me a month. I followed up every month through December asking about what the delay was, where they told me that Invisalign just hadn't made the trays yet. I explicitly asked if they needed anything from me. They said no. In December for my cleaning, they realized they missed taking images needed. They told me to come back later that month. I called that day because I was not sure my trays would be in. They said they were. At my 3:00 appointment I was not only seen a half hour late but they didn't have my trays! There has been no reimbursement or attempt to make it right. The practice is sloppy, and care for customer is zero if not negative. Again I paid in full and my insurance was fully charged. At this point, going to another practice would be a pain since I would have to reverse my insurance and I already selected a different dental plan. This is not cheap, and it's been a half year delay. Horrible practice, do not recommend or support. I will be leaving immediately and I advise anyone else to stay far away. I am incredibly disappointed and angry. If they do attempt to make this right in any way (they expedited the delivery, but that's laughable as an acceptable solution given it's been a half year), I will update this review. I hope people can at least benefit from my horrible experience by staying away.

Disappointing First Visit - I Won't Be Returning…read more I recently moved from Michigan to Alabama and needed to schedule my routine 6-month cleaning, something I've consistently done twice a year for the past 18+ years. I've always had pain-free, professional experiences at my previous dental office in Michigan, so I was hoping for the same when I scheduled with Aspen Dental for the first time. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Since it was my first visit, I expected to have X-rays done--which is completely understandable. However, the machinery seemed outdated, and the tools used to position my mouth for the pictures were very uncomfortable and painful. I expressed this to the dental assistant, and her response was, "Yeah, a lot of people say it hurts, but you have to bear with it." She seemed annoyed that I was vocalizing my discomfort, which was very unprofessional. She eventually asked for someone else to take over. Thankfully, the next assistant was a bit gentler, but the damage was done. The next day (today), my gums were still sore, and I could feel the indentation from where the tools were pressed in. To make matters worse, the billing process was confusing and felt a bit deceptive. After sitting down with the billing receptionist, I was initially told the visit would cost $278, which immediately raised red flags because I've never had to pay for an initial exam, X-rays, or cleaning in the past with insurance. When I questioned it, they removed $200 worth of services I hadn't requested. I still ended up paying $78 for fluoride and some additional item they vaguely described. Again, not something I ever encountered at my previous dentist. Overall, this experience was far from what I consider acceptable for a simple cleaning visit. Between the poor bedside manner, the physical discomfort, and the questionable billing practices, I will not be returning to this location. My husband has an upcoming appointment at another Aspen Dental branch, and I'm curious to see how his experience compares--but I personally cannot recommend this office.

Dr. also found an issue that I've been going to the doctor for over 12 months (medical doctors). I ended up at an ENT who said everything was great. Guess - that was after X-rays a sonogram and a scope. I had 4 teeth extracted- implants in a few months. I am grateful to you Dr. thank you from the bottom of my heart for your experience humility and gentle healing hands.
