It's a shame, because I have rung them twice to give them the opportunity to rectify the issues but they are not interested. It appears they will take your money quite happily and then not care about any after care. The process started with no communication from the shop about how we purchase are carpet the the process of it being fitted. We were told when to pay, and were informed the day before they do not accept card, but after stating we could transfer the money, the magically found a card machine (probably so you can cancel the payment for their terrible service). The carpet fitters arrived at 8:30am (which was fine, but it would have been nice to have known they were coming so early). They immediately stated that they couldn't start until the old carpet had been removed by me (again, not an issue, but would have been nice to know). They then didn't help move the furniture (as stated by the salesman they would). After fitting, they informed us that they wouldn't take the old carpet, and left all the offcuts lying around, and the house in a mess. At no point were we informed that the old carpet of offcuts would be left, and would have happily paid for this service. Additionally, the only "solution" they will off is for us to drop the old carpet at the shop, which does not solve our issue. A really terrible experience, and We are very disappointed at the complete lack of after sale care. What's worse, is the man on the phone would not stop interrupting me.

The fitters damaged the new skirting in multiple places during the fitting and despite us pre-booking a door trimming service, they left (in a hurry) without altering the doors in the room. After a couple of attempts at opening the doors, the surface of the new carpet was damaged. We contacted the shop and were told someone would re-visit to look at the issues but never heard from them again. We employed a local carpenter to adjust the doors. We will shortly be looking to have our hallway, utility room, stairs and landing carpeted, but we will only book with the large chain organisations from now on, or possibly the Carpet Barn who, despite being very 'no frills' have given us good service in previous years. We're amazed that at a time when the High Streets are in such trouble, independent retailers such as Simply Carpets will provide such shoddy service. I can't help but feel they will eventually have only themselves to blame for their extinction.

We selected some Marmolium flooring for our front hallway, and someone came out to do an exact measurement for an accurate quote. The day the men came, they disposed of the old carpeting and liner, and installed the new tiles and floor divider. The divider should have been solver instead of brass and they returned in a few days to rectify this at no extra charge. We intend to use their services when we need the next bit of flooring replaced due to their reasonable prices, friendly and helpful staff and quality workmanship.

Shirley Carpet Centre was the closest carpet seller to where we lived; we also chose their services because they had a longstanding reputation and had been established in the same location for many decades. The carpet was of finest quality at a cheap price and the staff were always more than ready to help us with questions that we had about getting the measurements right and ensuring that the carpet fitted properly. The end result was a success and we thank Shirley Carpet Centre for all their help and hard work.

The answers were vague and they didn't have a willing attitude. So my impression of Shirley Carpet centre would have improved if they engaged with me better and appeared to have a genuine interest in their shop/ job. I thought a lot of the carpets looked quiet old but must admit some of them had nice designs. They also have quality material and the prices are good. It's good to know they also have a fitter and his prices depend upon the size of the job. Although he charges, this guy is quick and efficient. Considering all of this it wasn't a surprise when I heard of their good reputation and that they've been based in Shirley for a few decades. If you're looking for a quick and simple carpet then it's worth paying a visit here.
