Egg and Cheese Bagel Sandwich with Meat Home Fries

Perfect small town diner. It was so cool to watch the service and their team work together. Hand written menus and incredible food. We came for a girls trip to Salem from Texas and we had the bagel sandwich, omelets, biscuits and gravy, and eggs Benedict and it was all delicious. Opened in 1932, debs diner became Black Cat Diner in June 2024 but the cook and her family own it now

Imagine Waffle House but cozier and cleaner. The wait staff was super helpful and made for a great breakfast while visiting Salem. Food was delicious but is cash-only. Within walking distance of the Salem Witch Trials memorial.

Placed an order for three omelets with potatoes and bread. Ordered through a delivery app and our order was made and dropped off promptly. The omelets were huge and overly stuffed, so we all had about half of our omelets left over. My sister had the bagel and she was content with it. No complaints here. The food was good and the service was fast. Prices were reasonable.

Great diner with counter. Get the hash! Grilled muffins looked outstanding but we didn't get them - will next time! Todays options were pumpkin and blueberry.

LOCAL LOCAL PLACE CASH ONLY atm next door When you drive up you might think the place is closed however it does have a neon sign and it's most likely open. There is parking in back if not on the street. Found the place on Yelp as I needed to do some work while waiting for my other half who was having a procedure at Salem hospital. This is NOT a remodeled fancy diner but a true old fashion diner. The food was very good. I asked for a "special" order and they did it perfectly. Meat lovers Eggs Benedict all parts where very good. I needed to be rolled out I was so full. Coffee refills kept coming. I didn't have a muffin but they are cooked fresh and they will heat them on the grill. They had blueberry and banana caramel today but it sounded like that gets switched up.

The Food: Delicious! Diner food obviously, but everything was very tasty! The half-size french toast plates are filling enough, but add a plate of baked beans or bacon if you have a big appetite. Don't skip the fries (breakfast potatoes). Cash only. The Service: Fast and reliable. I can see why there are regulars that frequent this spot. You get the small town vibe where they know you by name and preferred menu item. It's great. The restaurant: Small diner, not meant for large groups, but you can split up your group to sit at multiple booths. We went to visit Salem for Halloween, and this spot was a very short walk to downtown. Highly recommend!

This place is a hidden gem. It looks like a hole in the wall but it has the best breakfast I have had in a long time. The girls behind the counter are hilarious and amazing. Do not over look this place. We were in Salem for the weekend and went to breakfast both days here. By far the best sausage and gravy I have ever had. We also got the French toast and a few other items....none of it disappointed us. So fresh and so good. Bring cash though.

Amazing service and amazing food! The staff is friendly but still has the New England attitude and it just goes so well. The girls were funny and welcoming. This is cash only so prepare for that. I come to Salem every year and always like to go outside the square to support more local business. This place will now be my first stop every year I come to Salem!

Deb's Diner is not your standard tourist spot but close enough to the center of things and far less costly than places featured in guidebooks. Are you looking for a delicious big breakfast and a truly excellent cup of coffee? Look no further. Deb's is friendly and welcoming as well as delish!

Wow! Bring your appetite when you come to Deb's because this place is some seriously good eats. Definitely a locals place, where you feel like its an institution within the Salem community. Order the blueberry muffins and have them grill them with butter. Its like a meal in itself. I had the Irish eggs benedict. When my waitress gave me a big thumbs up when she took my order I knew it was going to be good. Homemade corned beef hash, covered with two poached eggs and smothered in yellow gravy. UNFREAKINGBELIEVABLE. Deb's injured me. I'm from the West Coast and can't find anything even close out here. I need to get back to Salem ASAP.

a closed sign on the door
    Yvette C.

It's closed after walking a mile. What a disappointment it's in an area where there's hardly any parking so it is better that you walk if you're a tourist or get an Uber but then you find out they're closed. The lights are on but there's nobody there and there's a big closed sign.

Food is good. Don't judge it by the cover! Give it a chance. It's small but was perfect for breakfast.

The menu doesn't look particularly amazing, standard-ish pub fare (steak tips, fish&chips, mac&cheese) but they do them EXTREMELY well. The tips were tender and flavorful, the sneaky star of the entree was the salad with feta though. I'm pretty sure the feta was marinated in whatever outstanding salad dressing they use. The havarti grilled cheese with avocado, garlic aioli and fried egg...C'mon. You have to spend the extra $2 for the bacon jam, you will not regret it. I'm sure we've all seen truffle fries right? Some bullshit frozen garbage either drowned in cheap truffle oil, or "dusted" with truffle salt. Well, they don't do that crap here, however they do garlic fries. Hand cut, with whole cloves of roasted garlic all over. Not one or two cloves, like several heads worth of glorious, slow-roasted garlic. I managed to scrounge a couple spoonfuls of the kids mac&cheese from my son, almost lost a finger in the attempt and I found out why. They put just as much effort into the kids food as the adults. If you need a break from your witchy business in Salem, definitely stop in here.

My husband also isn't a hummus fan but devoured our hummus appetizer- and I agree as the one who is actually a fan of hummus it was absolutely delicious. We also had a chance to try their burgers and WOW, every bite we took left us just wanting more and their fries were also amazing as well. On our first night in Salem, my friends and I chose this place for dinner, and we were immediately glad we did. Every dish tasted homemade and full of flavor, and the service, especially from our server Elisha, was warm, attentive, and personable. We started with the charred broccoli mac & cheese, which arrived piping hot and baked to perfection. Every bite was rich, creamy, and delicious. Honestly, it's up there with the best mac & cheeses I've ever had. For entrées, we shared the shepherds pie and the steak tips. The shepherds pie, made with a hearty mix of lamb, beef, peas, carrots, house mashed, and cheddar cheese, was fresh and perfectly balanced. The steak tips were cooked to our liking, tender, and seasoned beautifully. Both dishes were comforting and satisfying. Olde Main Street Pub delivered exactly what we were hoping for: great food, genuine service, and a cozy atmosphere. I would definitely come back the next time I'm in Salem.
