Dr. Wiley has been my dentist for several years. I've been to many dentists in the past, including…read moresome that have told me I had problems only to get more money out of me. Dr. Wiley is definitely not like that. He is one of the most honest dentists I've ever been to. He only takes care of the problems that need to be focused on. He is thorough and straight to the point. He's more than happy to answer any questions you may have. He's also not afraid to send you to a specialist if you need it either. His staff is also fantastic! They've always been very friendly and helpful. I've never had a bad experience with the office workers or the dental assistants. When making an appointment, the staff gets you in quickly. And while there are patients going in and out all day long, I've never had to wait more than 15-20 minutes in the waiting room for my appointment. The entire process-from checking in, getting a cleaning, and paying-has never taken long for me. Dr. Wiley definitely doesn't seem like he likes to keep people waiting. A few years back, I went in to have an abscessed tooth check out and, after seeing how bad it was, they immediately fit me in the same day for a root canal. It was surprisingly painless! The best part was that evening, he called to check up on me and see how I was doing. He cares that much about his patients. Couldn't recommend enough!

Despite this, every time I called requesting a callback, I never received one. About four weeks ago, the tooth became sore for about a week. The following week, I went in for a routine cleaning. The hygienist was great, and I mentioned the pain I had experienced. She took an X-ray and said she did see something concerning, and that Dr. Schmieder would reach out to me. Three more weeks passed with no call. I finally reached out again, and I still never spoke to Dr. Schmieder directly. The only communication I received was from the front desk. The secretary called and informed me--very casually--that the doctor said I have an infection in the tooth, that I need antibiotics, and that I need to see a specialist. There was no urgency, no offer to bring me back in, and no explanation that the root canal may have failed. I have now been dealing with an infected tooth for weeks, an infection that could potentially spread to other parts of the body. Yet not once did the doctor call me personally to explain the situation or apologize for the lack of communication. This is unacceptable. I plan to file a complaint with the Missouri Dental Board and am considering legal options as well. My name is Richard McCabe. I posted this review on Thursday--it's now Friday--and still no call. Dentists may work four days a week, but in my line of work, no matter how busy I am or whether I'm off the clock, I always return my customers' calls. Basic communication and patient care should not be too much to expect.

I had a toothache with a molar that had been broken for a while that was causing pain so much so…read morethat I had a throbbing headache all the way up to around my eye. Unfortunately this happened the day before a huge snowstorm was coming and a weekend. I asked in a Facebook group where I should go and was suggested Emergency Dental of St. Louis. I drove up there and waited about 30 minutes and they got me in. Dr. Son was the dentist that I saw and he was very nice and seemed knowledgeable. I needed a root canal and a crown. The price was quite shocking at first (as are all dental procedures at any dental office), so I asked if he could just do the first part to get me out of pain. I ended up coming back and finishing the root canal with him about a week later. Things went smoothly and Dr. Son was again pleasant and competent. I felt safe under their care. When I came back for my permanent crown, things went well. The look and feel of the crown was good. I believe her name was Nicole, informed me that I had another credit which I thought was awesome, because so many times companies/offices don't tell you about credits and just leave you to find out later, so I appreciated the upfront honesty. Overall, I am pleased with the quality of care that I receive, and that they got me in quickly for all the separate days I needed to be seen. I would definitely recommend them to someone that has an emergency dental situation.

When I arrived I was told it is prepay only and to have a tooth extracted it would cost $1760.00. WTF? I walked out, went to my car and google other dental clinics. I found one, drove there and was seen two hours later. My bill was only $345.00. Do not patronize this business.
