Wow! I became aware of this restaurant, because one of my…read moredaughters said she wanted to visit this eatery during a planned trip to Philadelphia. I read reviews and they were somewhat mixed, but I put my faith in the Elites, who were on point. I ordered the fried fish, mac and cheese, and candied yams. The portions were enormous and more than I could eat alone. My daughter ordered the same sides, but had the bbq chicken bites, and an extra side of seafood salad. My fish was not greasy at all, and the cornmeal crust was light and crispy. It wasn't over seasoned and was delicious. The cinnamon and nutmeg in the candied yams were well balanced and reminiscent of a southern Thanksgiving dinner... a little sweet, but yummy nonetheless. The macaroni and cheese was also as Thanksgiving worthy and beyond. I tasted a chicken bite, and wished I had ordered those too... my eyes are truly bigger than my stomach lol. I liked the seafood salad, but if I lived in Philly, I would order it to accompany a great big mixed green salad. It holds its own and for me, doesn't need to be a side dish. It was an honor to visit Ms. Saud's restaurant, and contribute to her mission

While going to Philly for a night out we wanted Soul food but didn't have time to sit down and eat…read more So we googled soul food. This place popped up and since it was 10mins away from Helium comedy club we went. Upon entering I noticed it was an Asian lady in there. Yeah first red flag. Second after ordering we heard buttons on the microwave, and the ding when it was done. Lastly when I ordered the #23 aka 3 piece whiting, 3 wings no dropping of anything in the grease. We pay n drive off. Look at the food n try it. Yeah...... generic boxed Mac n cheese, canned greens n cabbage, with you guessed it. Canned sweet potatoes. Oh and store bought cornbread (but that wasn't bad ). I don't care if it was an Asian person making my food, but when it's microwaved to heat up, and all the sides came from a can or boxed. I have an issue. Ps. I'd only rate this place a 2/10.

So I decided to give this restaurant a try, after my last order in 2023…read more I placed an order for Hot Honey Wings & a Fried Whiting Platter. The Hot Honey wings were good. Not fried too hard & the perfect amount of Hot Honey Sauce. The Whiting platter came with 2 sides (Mac & Cheese and Cabbage) The fish fried perfectly, but lacked flavor. The Cabbage was a tad bit salty but not bad. The Mac & Cheese was decent. It wasn't cheesy enough & somewhat dry. My last rating from a few years ago was 1 star. With my recent purchase I would give you guys a 3 Stars. For $19.00 I think the Fish platter should come with at least 3 pieces of Fish. My platter only came with 2 pieces of fish.

I would guess that anyone giving this establishment 5 stars are either their friends and associates…read moreor being paid to do so. As I said previously.. and as many reviewers confirmed.. these are the nastiest people on the face of this planet. They act as if they're doing you a favor by taking your money. Their attitude is beyond rude.. and I don't think the establishment is clean . Generally, I support black businesses.. but I cannot support this one. I even give businesses a second chance figuring that I may have been there during an off day. Years later, still the same nasty attitudes. Still questionable in maintaining sanitary practices. I don't recommend. If I could give them zero stars, I would
