We are very, very happy with the work they did. They were very thorough and easy to work with. They cleaned up & organized their stuff at the end of each workday. They are detail-oriented, work hard, and really care about the quality of the work they do, Angel was the estimator, but he also worked with the crew during most of the days of the job.
Our house was 6 or 7 years overdue for re-Painting, and had a few isolated areas of rot in the wood siding. We got three estimates for the work. We wanted to hire a company who could do a good, complete job.
The first company never actually got back to us with an estimate, saying they would, "soon". Then, they said they were so busy they couldn't schedule it in less than 3 or 4 months time. The second company gave a good estimate and seemed interested and very competent. They could start within a month and a half after we signed the contract. When Angel (awn-hel) came to give us an estimate, he also seemed very knowledgable, confident and observant of our house and the work that was needed to really do a good thorough job. We talked about the prep-work quite a lot, because-having worked, myself, for many years doing murals and signs-I knew this would be important do thoroughly, with the house over-due for painting.
I insisted on them using top level primer and paint [Benjamin Moore's highest grade]. I asked for a full coat of Primer on the entire exterior , as well as 2 entire coats of the Finish color. Both Angel's and the second company's estimate were close to the same price (within about 10% difference). But Angel and his crew could begin just days after signing the contract, and they would have a carpenter who could fix the damaged siding, so I chose them.
They began by Power-washing the whole house, spending as much time as it took to thoroughly clean all surfaces. Then they scraped, sanded, patched, filled cracks and spot-primed for over 3 days. By the time they finished doing the prep work, I knew we'd hired the right people-just by watching how they worked. My communication with Angel was excellent: whether it was about details of the work, when things would get done, or decisions regarding colors. Even though a few of the crew speak a bit more Spanish than English, Angel kept everyone 'on the same page' with what was needed. They were patient as my wife and I went back and forth, deciding between the final 2 or 3 choices for the main house color.
The crew was careful about protecting our hardwood deck, bushes, driveway and pavers as they painted the primer and 2 finish coats of main color and white trim. We discovered a bit more rot in the rear wall of your house, but their carpenter was able to replace all the pieces of affected siding with identical new siding, perfectly. We agreed to the additional cost for this, and this was the only increase to the original contract cost. When all the work was done, the crew spent hours cleaning up all around the house, removing any stray paint, and carefully touching up anything needing it.
Our house is now gorgeous, protected and getting compliments from the neighbors. Without any hesitation, we recommend Angel and his crew. They exceeded our hopes and expectations beautifully!
