Man, kids. I guess they can be funny and cute but I really like to do grown up thangs and then just…read morego home alone to peace and quiet. I never thought I'd have one of my own. But now I do. And I love my little man - because he's cute (it helps) and he's actually a good kid most days- but I can be honest and say straight up, I don't always want to be around him. That doesn't mean I'm just gonna drop him off at any daycare. I don't have friends with children and I'm not great at going to those Mommy and Me classes (because who voluntarily wants to hang out with more kids when you've got your own, right?...amiright? I'm just kidding...maybe...) so I didn't know the best way to look up daycares. I'm a huge Yelper so I looked for daycares around my area but there wasn't a lot of reviews showing up. I was drawn to Elisa's page because she posted a ton of pictures and a nice description about herself but she had no reviews. Turned out they've been filtered. I'm glad we gave each other a chance. I went to visit her home while she was working. I got to take a tour of her property and see how she played with the children. I was also able to see how my little man could interact with other kiddies his age. PROS: - Her home is clean and well maintained inside and out. There is a lot of space for the kids to play. She has toys inside and outside she has a playground and bikes and balls for the kids to go crazy. - She only takes around 6 kids per day. - She has a variety of great animals for the kids to interact with: Chickens, goats, sheep, a llama, dogs, birds! This is what sold me to give Elisa a call in the first place. On top of all that, she's been taking care of children for years and has a lot of experience. She's nice and friendly and affectionate with my kid and will sometimes even send picture texts to show what my little man is doing. I feel good about leaving him with Elisa. She gives me my me time back, so I can return home alone to peace and quiet and do my grown up thangs.

She always responds to my texts promptly about availability and has been flexible when we wanted to switch care dates. She's cared for our two girls starting from age 2 up to age 6. She's very comfortable preparing meals and assisting with potty training when that was needed. I highly appreciate her enthusiasm for taking the kids outside to play in the snow and enjoy nature. Our kids always remember her and get excited to play games they make up together. I'm so happy we found a sweet and trustworthy caretaker in Martina and will definitely continue to contact her anytime we visit Tahoe!

I called and Ms Joy answered right away and let me know she would get back to me the following day with her availability for the upcoming month. Ms Joy followed through and we were able to stop by the same week and get a tour and get more info. My daughter felt comfortable right away and Ms Joy was accommodating for our temporary arrangement. My daughter was only in Ms Joy's care for a few months but she really love coming here. If my daughter wasn't already transitioning to TK we would definitely continue to stay at Peekaboo. Even from infancy formula is provided if needed along with food plans outlined once solids are introduced. Once old enough they facilitate a preschool program, my two year old can hold a pencil correctly and does his worksheets daily. The early introduction to these skills continue on to help prepare for kindergarten. We decided to keep our kids at Harvest House until they started kindergarten, and credit the curriculum and dedication they set in place of reading, sight words, and math to setting them up for success. My 8 and 5 yr old progressed at different paces but both felt more confidence going into kindergarten.
