They had organic foods that I couldn't find other places and their to go items were pretty good considering. Well, considering my taste and the typical English palate are FAR removed from one another. The grocery part of M&S was actually something I only discovered after passing by it several times....it is a regular old department store with clothing and household goods up front. Kind of a high-end Super Wal-Mart here in the States. Also, the staff weren't as horribly rude as they were in some places in Ipswich, certainly not what I would call friendly but not out and out surly.

There are a huge range of gifts and plants and flowers as well as cards, wrapping paper and homeware and kitchen items. The food hall is enormous and is extremely well stocked with fresh fruit and veg, chilled items, frozen goods, bakery items as well as magazines, food testing and general store goods too. The staff in this shop are geneally friendly and can be extremely helpful. There is parking at the back in a ratehr expensive car park. However M&S also offer a collect service where you leave your M&S shopping until you have finished your shopping elswhere. You can then park in their loadng bay and they will bring your shopping to your car. On the top floor is a cafe which makes a good stop off point and a bureau de change too. The shop is well served with ramps and a lift as well as escalators.

There are always plenty of staff available for help if you need it. They sell such a wide range of things from animal food to cosmetics, to toys and soft furishings. You can find most of the things you need in one place which is always good. They always have a lot of different deals going on, there is bound to be one of them which will suit your needs. There is a lift at the back of the shop it is a little hard to find but it is there for those with buggys ar disabilities. Upstairs there is a wide range of paints, clothes and home furnishings including orniments and displays. There are plenty of tills downstairs and you get served really fast, just remember to go in the in door and out the right door or they may close on you.

Elswhere in store there is a traditional womens wear section and an excellent underwear department. There is a very large toy department, a haberdashery section, toiletries and girts, menswear, kitchen items, furniture and white good and a coffee shop and restaurant. It's an excellent place to shop and for those with the cards they also accept dividend cards. A good traditional palce to shop.

Their staff however....ugh....very rude, always surly, and generally unpleasant. But, poor as I was while I was over there, I appreciated the convenience and low price point of their merchandise and I braved the rudeness for my goods.
