(free shipping only applies for orders £500 or more but if you are buying a full bed which the company mainly sells, it should easily surpass this) Despite mainly specialising in the hotel trade, you can also buy their beds for uses in homes as well despite part of their service is mainly catered to hotels, and unsuitable for homes. (For example they are uninsured to set up your bed or even bring it into your home).
After a fantastic stay at the Radisson Blu Edwardian hotel in Manchester, where I had an amazing experience which earned the hotel a five star rating (the first time I had ever given a hotel a five-star rating), with a big part of this being the bed, I wanted to learn more and possibly buy the bed after my renovation and expansion of my house being complete. I went on to purchase a double mattress and bed frame which came to £640 delivered.
Communication throughout the order process could have been better, after sorting out my order through email, they were unable to answer any questions over the phone when I rang the accounts team to pay, the girl I spoke to on the phone seemed really friendly but she seemed angry at my questions, and she felt this should have been discussed and organised in the order process as she was unable to assist - another part of the experience (alongside not offering a service to set up the bed or remove the buyer's old bed) which is absurd.
Having more detailed information and maybe an online ordering website rather than being reliant on telephone and email and information provided there would have been useful. The website in its' current state doesn't seem to be really professional, or informative without tools to process an order without going through old-fashioned channels.
My bed was scheduled to arrive much quicker than usual, within a few days I received a call which could allow me to have delivery within a week, sadly I was unable to accept this due to having to wait for the decorating company to decorate my new room which the bed would be placed in before adding furniture, but this did impress me - fast and efficient service.
I later went on to add a headboard to my order, they had a large design of multiple colours and fabrics, and despite some initial confusion with the first colour I chose and the second colour and fabric, I was pleased to add this onto my order for £289.
In regards to payment for the headboard, I was spammed with calls from accounts which felt awkward, when I couldn't answer the phone they kept ringing again to the point they called 6 times in just over 2 hours at one point. It got to the point where it became harassing and I considered blocking their number with no attempt to leave a message - Rude and Unprofessional! Eventually, after disagreement and argument with the Accounts manager, Illona (who even sent me the wrong payment details and attempted to argue with my complaint), I managed to transfer the money and then deal with all future enquires with the very kind and helpful Jonathan. My issue with accounts even led for communication to be stopped, however, I was still sent an invoice showing everything I had paid in the mail a few days after receiving my bed, so I wasn't left out of the know which I was of course pleased about.
When re-arranging the delivery, I was slightly disappointed with a lack of information provided, I was given two days which it could come which was a little confusing, eventually I was given an hour's notice for my bed to arrive at different time to the one stated in the email, so organisation and planning regarding deliveries considering it is Mattison who deliver and not the third party is of paramount importance in the future. The delivery driver did seem friendly enough but he was on his own, to be able to drop off a heavy mattress, headboard and multiple bed frames for a single person is completely unacceptable. He did need extra assistance as he couldn't transport it on his own so the fact there was no other driver is completely diabolical planning.
I did find the mattress to be comfortable but due to many issues mainly with organisation of delivery and the rude argumentative Accounts and Payments "Manager", the way they go about dealing with customers for this great product is off-putting, and even leads to confusion (I was told to pick a colour for my headboard and then a fabric and another colour rendering the first colour irrelevant), mainly based on the quality of the product and service from Jonathan in sales, I feel a slightly generous three-star rating is warranted.
