I played DeBell for my 3rd time since September (around 2 months between each time). The course conditions have shown significant improvement each time I have been there. The greens are in great condition, quick, and are quite challenging. I look forward to seeing how the course continues to progress. A note for people playing here for the first time. This is a "mountain course" and you need to play it as such. Balls will bounce out in the fairway and you will run putts off the greens if you are not careful. read more

Came here for a bday celebration in the party venue room and it was a nice event space. It holds a lot of room and is very spacious with indoor and outside seating! They have a bar inside and a very nice dance floor!! It's very clean and modern with cute decor and good lighting!! The parking is across the street and street parking. My Co-worker had his 60th birthday at this beautiful golf course. The room where the party was located was spacious with indoor and outdoor seating. They had a nice-sized bar and a nice big dance floor which was fun dancing on. Beautiful cozy lighting around the room with a cabin-like mood. They served chicken and beef fajitas with rice and beans that was delicious. I would highly recommend having a party at this golf course. It's centralized so it's not far from the San Fernando Valley or the San Gabriel Valley. Note They have coyotes around in an area so be careful. read more

I hadn't played this course in 40 years- I just remember I didn't like it at the time but don't remember why - things change in 40 years - course is built up the hill under the Castaway restaurant- the front side is filled with short par fours that are very narrow and you can blow up very easily- back side is more traditional - clubhouse is very nice and the views are amazing! A wonderful, picturesque, and challenging course that will have you wondering when you can come back! Imagine valleys winding through the hill country, lined with luxurious green fairways, and bounded by mature trees. The only elements around you are nature and the inevitable whoop from another elated or frustrated golfer echoing into the hills. Deer are prancing away, having just foraged near your next tee box. It's picture perfect. Challenging? Yep. The doglegs are sharp. A couple of the par 3s should be 4s (one of them you can't even SEE the pin around the corner of a steep hill)! And you will rarely find your self on even footing for your next shot. But the prices are fair, the staff are polite and friendly, the pro shop is legit, and the upstairs bar and diner is excellent. read more

This is a short course at 5285 yards (white tees) and a par 71. The main building, parking and staff were all great. The price is fabulous. $62 on a Sunday including cart. The setting is gorgeous. Up in the hills above Burbank. The course is tight and you really need to keep the driver in your bag on some par 4's with their many doglegs. A couple of fairways are really dug up and brown but the greens are in perfect shape. The marshal moves players along (unfortunately us) and we finished in about 4 1/4 hours. 2024.07-03/WED_0630: Yes, I'm off for the Independence Day holiday and we scored a 0630 tee time for the back nine which is one of the best courses in the city. Every time we've visited DeBell, it's always an excellent and relaxing time. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The clientele we encounter all around the course during play and when we are paired has always been pleasant. I've been to other courses all over Los Angeles and I'd have to say this one is my favorites. I'm not sure if it's because it was my first 18 hole course I played but I really believe it's the staff and the beautiful, well kept course. They also have a nice outdoor driving range and a nice putting green. The visit before today's visit, when we were paired up with a couple, Yoshi and Hiroko, they were the best. We also had a single player by the name of Alex who was awesome, too. At that time, I was merely a caddy for my husband. It was Hiroko who inspired me to play. If she only knew that I murmur her name, each time I take a stroke. She played really well and I wanted to be just like her. We actually ran into her today while we were leaving, and she was arriving! She remembered my husband, Mario and called out his name while crossing the street and I exclaimed, "Hiroko!" and waved at her! Yoshi must've been by the car because we didn't see him. I hope she noticed my golf bag on our cart because I was only a caddy the last time we visited. I wanted to talk to her but you can see that she was in a hurry to make their tee time, too probably! Ever since that last visit, we've been playing at DeBell, Yes, "we", because I play! Whether it's the entire 18 hole or when we have time for the front or the back nine -whenever we can squeeze it in. I'll be forever grateful for meeting Hiroko because now I'm addicted to golf. The fairways are gorgeous yet challenging. The course is in great shape. The fairways are free from debris and even the rough surrounding each hole looks nice. The greens are stellar. My favorite would have to be the back nine. I love the 12th and 13th holes. We always encounter beautiful wildlife at one of the holes each time we play 18. On Mother's Day, we actually ran into a doe and her mother on the 12th prancing around the green. It was the best. It is very peaceful, tranquil and relaxing playing at DeBell because you won't hear cars or anything else, just the wonderful sounds of the outdoors. We always do our part and fix our divots, too as well as other people's divots, if we see them. You won't find many holes and divots at DeBell, the course is well kept. We had an encounter today which NEVER happens at DeBell - a guy with an 0820 tee time for the front nine decided to start the back nine when we paid to play the back nine at 0630. He looked angry when we rolled up behind him. He confronted us asking if we're supposed to be there. We said, "Yes, our tee time is 0630 for the back nine, what's your tee time? Then he looked baffled and surprised. Then we asked again, what's your tee time?". That's when he said, 0820 on the front nine and I'm gonna play here until my tee time." We were like, okay. Well, why are you getting angry at us when we're scheduled to be here at 0630 and you're freeloading and jumping in front of us which means you can't take your time practicing? Whatever. So you're telling us that you decided that since you aren't paying for your game and we did, that we're bothering you? Get real. Other people would complain to the Starter but why waste our time and our game over this grumpy man? He's having a bad day. I hope they can catch more people who do that. It's just not fair. On top of that, he took his sweet time causing the next two rounds of people behind us to wait. He ruined the timing of everyone's game. Other than that, our experience today was just as awesome as any other visit to DeBell. Always a great and relaxing time, DeBell will always be our number one! LAST VISIT: 2024.04-12/SUN: One of the most beautiful golf courses in the valley. The entire course is nestled away from any traffic or roads. The holes and the greens are just gorgeous. We love hearing the birds and encountering wildlife here. Each hole is challenging and breathtaking. They have restrooms around the course as well as the other amenities, such as a putting range, driving range, a beautiful restaurant, food, drinks and pro shop. When you're about to hit the back 9, you may be able to hear the fuel powered cart coming around with the cocktails! So awesome! She shows up at the right time, every time - the 12th hole. DeBell is great to play during the afternoon, too. It is very peaceful. read more

I went to the range on 1/5/2025 and the machine was out of balls but still charged you me the entire bucket- twice. There should be something as simple as a notice stating it's out of balls and to not swipe your CC. Upon realizing it was out of balls I spoke with Victor at the front desk who confirmed that he would make sure I don't get double charged. Surely enough- I was double charged and have left 6 voicemails trying to get this corrected. Something so small and easy should be handled promptly- but this is a direct representation of the horrible communication and management at this course. read more

The day started off right. the weather was nice. I checked in, ready to play. First off, the carts were terrible. There was a large chunk taken out of the seat. So, whenever the driver makes a turn or runs over a bump, they will almost fall out of the cart! The bathrooms are very clean and the staff and players are nice. The cart paths aren't smooth nor flat. They're very bumpy and cracked. There are many divots and chunks in the greens. There is also a lot of ground under repair and dirt patches. This course is a little challenging with all the curves and the trees but very well manicured and maintained, we held our last tournament here and the staff has been really nice and accommodating, I was not one of the players but as one of the organizers. I recently signed up as a players club member which was an easy peasy process, played my first game a few days ago which was a lot of fun, being it was a twilight game the dark of night pretty much ended our game not to mention getting a surprise shower when the sprinklers all of a sudden came on! (Not cool DeBell! It was only 8:00PM) nevertheless, I like DeBell amidst getting an unsolicited-unwelcome shower. One more though and this review will have a much different tone, you shouldn't be offering twilight if you plan to water your guest out of the course. Can't wait to play again! read more

Still one of my favorite courses to play in LA. The course is not long but challenging with fast greens and slopes. Ball placement is key to playing well here. The few holes with elevated tee boxes where you are hitting down to the green or fairway are really fun to play. Course is always well maintained and staff is nice. read more

Played Friday Jan. 2. Still charging Holliday rate. The worse playing conditions. The course had maintenance workers slowing pace of play. Tree trimmers in the way. Tractors on course removing cut trees interrupt play. My brother ordered food at the turn and it took 1/2 hour to get the food. Numerous holes under continuous repair. The greens bumpy never rolled after punching in October. I will never play this course again and will tell all my golfing friends to avoid playing there. Shameful !!!! read more

My family and I had an excellent lunch on Saturday 7/6 at the Hillside Restaurant and Bar. The sandwiches were delicious, service was excellent and the atmosphere inviting and comfortable. The full bar has an assortment of beers and the bartenders make great mixed drinks. I would highly recommend for a meal after golfing, hitting at the range or just looking for a delicious lunch by the beautiful golf course. I showed up with my foursome and teed off at our 10:30 tee time. It was a Friday after the New Year's Day . The course had decided to have a full on maintenance day with dozens of workers tree cutting, removing cut trees using tractors. Very disrupting to playing golf. Paid Holliday rate. A beautiful 5600 yard course, players must ride and the green fees include the cart. On the day we played, the course was full and the pace felt rushed, which for me detracted a bit from the experience. DeBell Golf Course - The 18th hole, which ends back at the clubhouse. - Golf Near Me - Burbank, California

Solid municipal course for a round of 71 hole golf, but not without some minor drawbacks and interesting characters. De Bell boasts 18 holes and 5600 yards of golf with some decent views of Los Angeles, average fairways, and decent greens. Most tee boxes are completely shot and have quite a bit of undulation. I'd love to see the condition and grade of tee boxes improved as this is easily the biggest drawback to the course. Because it tends to be so accessible, depending on the time of day, you might be behind groups that are well behind the pace of play. I play here about once or twice a week, and the last 4-5 times we've been stuck behind slow groups of beginners who take 20+ minutes per hole, or drunks who smack range balls off the tee into the various hillsides, slowing down pace. Early mornings are best if you're trying to play in 3-3.5 hours. There are some interesting characters we run into on the course. There's a guy who parks outside of hole 6, and will walk down with a wedge and a putter and practice the hole. I've seen him on top of hole 15, WITH A CART (how did he get that), and 5-10 balls and will practice on the course in the middle of play. I wish De Bell would do something about this... I don't pay for him to play for free. Most interactions we've had with groundskeepers have been positive, with them being respectful of play, and the staff around the course are pleasant. Driving range mats are pretty worn out, but they get the job done. The membership they offer is a good value, about $45/Month which includes a free round of golf, discounted greens fees, free drink once a month, and a discount in the pro shop. Overall, a decent course, with some easy-to-implement changes that could get it up into the 4 or 5-star range. read more

It's a love n hate relationship with this course but it will test your game. Nice layout with tricky slopes and hills, yardage and club selection key on this course. The course conditions pretty good overall with super fast greens but Beware with Bunkers, bad sand/dirt with golf ball sized rocks, avoid bunkers at all cost. Restaurant and food is great with great views. Always look forward coming back to De Bell. Note: mask was more ideal keep my face warm "normally I wouldn't wear one outdoors". Inconsistent turf quality, poor management of tee times and traffic and, now, a ****head general manager, Jeff Hastings. The Canyon Club used to be a good deal at $45 a month including free range balls daily, but then they took away some of the tee time discounts, limited free range balls to just once a week, and KEPT THE PRICE THE SAME. So, now that we've discussed just one of the ways the so-called GM doesn't know how to retain loyalty, let's discuss COMMUNICATION. None of these changes were adequately delivered to Club members. In fact, I'm in the majority when I say they didn't do a damn thing to let us know. Their own pro-shop employee told me that dozens of people were showing up to go to the range, and were told on the spot that their membership didn't include that now. Nice job, Jeff. When I emailed management about the changes (through their very own website!) they didn't even bother to respond...and no, I wasn't rude. I just said I disagreed with the policy changes. Not only is it 100% amateur of Jeff Hastings not to respond...it shows a complete lack of, well, ADULTING. On a positive note, the staff usually quite friendly and the course itself is interesting, in a muni sort of way. Honestly, fire the GM. That'll fix more than a few issues. read more
