PARTY TRAY G (67 PCS) - 86.95 Not sure what the markup was on the Uber Eats app, but it was definitely over $90+. The platter included nine different rolls. I'm not really a saucy roll kind of gal, so I stuck to the rainbow roll (a classic specialty roll that can be found anywhere) and valentines roll (raw tuna, salmon, yellowtail with avocado and masago, wrapped with pink soybean paper). These two were quite good, so I enjoyed 3-4 pieces of each. I tried a piece of the spicy tuna roll and the sauce was too overwhelming. Unfortunately, I can't comment on the rolls because they looked saucy so I avoided them. Overall, I enjoyed the rainbow roll and valentines roll, and the sushi rice hit the mark. Not a bad deal if you have a mid-size group looking to eat about 10 pieces of sushi for a meal or snack. You're only paying about $15 per person at take-out price (without Uber Eats markup or delivery fees).

The dine-in experience has always been…read morepleasant and reasonable for all you can eat but I more often than not find myself ordering takeout here. It's easy, organized and efficient while also being fairly cost effective. You're never going to get a better bang for your buck than dining in to maximize on the all you can eat value. That said, a-la-carte to go isn't outrageously priced here. For a proper review, I wanted to test the dine-in experience. I went with the all you can eat option, starting with miso soup and salad topped with chicken and spicy mayo--which Sushi Para calls their "signature special sauce." When I first saw the label "special sauce," I admittedly brushed it off. It seems like just about every restaurant has its own version of a "super secret special sauce." Thus, I didn't expect this spicy mayo to be anything too noteworthy. But this spicy mayo has honestly ruined other spicy mayos for me. I've not found another sushi place that does it the same. Sushi Para's is creamy yet sharp, sesame-forward and not overly hot in terms of spice. It's great atop a sushi roll but also makes for an excellent salad dressing with crispy lettuce pieces. Their miso soup was tofu/seaweed-abundant and overall done very well. For my first plate I tried three nigiri varieties: salmon, red snapper and white tuna. All were flavorful and not-too-thin pieces of fish, no complaints. Up next, I dug into the Rainbow Roll. I was particularly interested in trying a Rainbow Roll because the last sushi place I reviewed had a particularly unenjoyable one. Since there is no sauce or driving flavor component, it's easy for a rainbow roll to be lackluster; Sushi Para's had quality, good-tasting fish on top-- tuna, salmon, red snapper and white tuna in my case. The supple and delicate texture of the fish on top paired well with tasty crab meat and creamy avocado filling the inside. Next, I dug into the Chicago roll. This was definitely one of my favorites I tried; the eel and salmon paired well with distinct but not overpowering flavors. Delectably-sweet sauce and crunchy cucumber were the highlights of the inside of this roll and a nice contrast comes out from the salty tobiko on top. The Palatine roll is virtually identical in ingredients, just arranged/presented slightly differently; that one was enjoyable too. The eel roll was both tender and sweet. And, my favorite roll of the entire experience was the Shrimp Tempura roll. It was crunchy, generously coated with a delicately brittle batter and had a sweet sauce drizzled inside. The Shrimp Tempura roll is equally as good on its own as it is dipped in the signature spicy mayo sauce. The last roll I tried was the Michigan Roll. Transparently, this was my least favorite as I didn't care for the texture of spicy tuna mashed with tobiko chips. This isn't unlike a lot of sushi restaurants' spicy tuna rolls, which I've come to learn is just not my favorite kind of roll; it's more of a commentary on my personal preferences than a lack of quality at play here. On top of enjoying the food, the service was really solid. Despite a formidable Friday night rush, my server was attentive and checked in frequently. My partner only ended up ordering a few rolls and since it would've been cheaper a-la-carte, he gave her the better deal as opposed to charging the fixed all-you-can-eat price. I didn't ask for this so I especially appreciated the honesty and willingness to make it as cost effective as possible for us. That kind of service deserves recognition. If you come to Sushi Para, I can highly recommend the Shrimp Tempura and Eel rolls and anything with their signature spicy mayo. I've been here many times and plan to return many more.

My only issue about this place now after all these years is that I wish someone whoever the owner is would invest and have some capital expenses to really fix up the place. You will know that tables are falling apart. Tape is on the walls. The furniture is wobbly and/or damaged. The bathroom definitely needs a refresh as well. For as long as they've been here, I would hope that they realize just how successful they are and how much of a staple they are to put an investment into the actual decor could go along way, especially for the regulars. The best we had of these was the Japanese Mule. Great flavor. This is made with ginger beer, Junmai sake, lime juice, lime wedge, and mint. A lot of rolls to choose from. It's about $20 for a specialty roll. At happy hour it's a few bucks off. I got the Secret Garden Roll. This is made with asparagus, avocado, black rice, cucumbers, greens, pickled radish, and shiitake. It actually wasn't that much. Thankfully it wasn't the full price. Got to say it has great flavors. It's closed Mondays. This is located on Vail at Wing in the busy part of town or whatever.
