Training was very hands on and any questions regarding hypothetical scenarios and specific circumstances were answered with knowledge built from experience. She took initiative to make sure all of the students were tended to and accommodated, as the different students came into the class at different levels of comfort with being in the water. More importantly, the entire experience was FUN! You can tell everyone in the shop loves what they do and makes you feel very welcome. I will be pursuing my other certifications here and will definitely book more trips through them in the future!

I walked into Eco Dive Center in Culver City ready to buy a dive mask and snorkel. The woman at the…read morecounter was helping another customer, so I took a seat and waited patiently for about six to eight minutes. Then an Asian man walked in, and she immediately greeted him and asked if he needed help. She still hadn't acknowledged me. At that point, I got up, slid my keys across the table to pick them up, and walked out. My keys scraped loud enough that I'd be surprised if she didn't hear them. Even then, she never said a word to me. I had no problem waiting my turn. What bothered me was watching someone who came in after me get greeted right away while I sat there without so much as a hello. The difference in how we were treated left me wondering whether race played a role, and I walked out feeling unwelcome. I was hoping I'd found my go-to local dive shop. After that experience, I'll take my business elsewhere.

My husband and I booked the EPIC (an accurate description) Sea Caves tour and what an incredible…read moreexperience it was! There were so many great moments and high points, including a playful pod of dolphins that leaped in and out of the boat's wake (and alongside us); kayaking among a large nursery of leopard sharks, both babies and adults; in one of the sea caves, the phosphorescence was lit up like a bright neon blue light along one wall of the cavern; and finally, snorkeling in a gorgeous kelp forest was beyond words! SO many fish (and one seal that sped by us like a bullet train). Our deepest gratitude to the crew, Roger, Cameron and Cooper for their kindness, humor and far-ranging knowledge of marine and island life. It's plain to see they love what they do and we were lucky to be a part of it.

They show you all the cool stuff answer all your questions. It's been a few days and we're already missing them! They are truly lovely to chat with. When it was time to hit the activities they went to work showing their skills and knowledge. FYI we're vegetarian and the lunch was lovely- so make sure you order that too! Thanks Captain Dan and crew! It was a bucket list day we won't forget!
