Nisa's is called a "Hot Dog" store, but I'd definitely think of it as more of a burger joint. If I didn't look out the window, or... talk to the German-speaking counter staff I guess, I would think I was in Seattle. From the decor to the presentation of the food it oozes that more and more popular "Hipster Chic". I loved it in Seattle and I love it here too! The service style is actually uncommon compared to the rest of Germany. You'll actually order at the counter and your food will be brought out to you. I find this is a refreshing change from how often the food and drink industry in Germany insists on being completely full service. The food was excellent. I had the "Nisa's Burger" which had onion, sweet peppers, and naturally Curry Ketchup, another staple of German cuisine. I haven't put too many peppers on burgers in my life, but it was excellent here. The patty itself was cooked well-done, which isn't my favorite as that part was a little bland. Next time I visit I'll definitely ask for a medium or at least medium well sear on the patty. I encourage you order in German, as I do everywhere in Germany, but try not to make my mistake: I tried to say "Ich nehme "Nisa's Burger Combo" trying to make it clear I wanted fries and a drink, but the counter staff heard "corndog" despite my perfect German accent (not really, I'm sure I mispronounced it), so I got the burger, fries, drink, and a corndog.... I didn't eat for two days afterward. The corndog was pretty good, but nothing special and it had the absolute lightest battering of any corndog I've ever seen... but maybe that's just a style I'm unaware of as this was corndog #5 or something in my whole life. Overall it was an awesome little place. Order a burger and grab a table, there aren't many places to get an American classic done so well over here!

I've visited their Z gates location and had a connection in A gates (this one is actually at A16)…read more so stopped for a Beef Sausage. Similar to their other location, It's a food stand with coffee, some sandwiches, pretzels, soft drinks and I saw a couple of cans of beer. Like their Rindswurst, Beef Sausage had a nice snap and link is too big for the Bun (a good thing). Standard condiments including Mayo, Relish and Pickles. Friendly service behind the counter. A little later than last time at 9 am but I can still say it was Breakfast. Well worth the stop!

Frankfurt was one of my transfer points going to/from Bangalore, India this week. These Hermann's…read morestands are at several points in the terminal and serve a great (by my US standards) hot dog. You can get three types of sausage in the dog and they serve a curry dog in a basket as well. Big sausages. I've tried the pork and the beef - both great. I got mine with everything on it. This means mustard, ketchup, mayo, pickles and onion crisps on top. Potential for mess, but a tasty mess. They have bottled drinks, including beer, in the cart. I love the bite of these dogs. They are plump, juicy and have a pop when I bite into them. Great stuff. Makes the trip a little less arduous and something to look forward to during layovers in Frankfurt. I can't help it - great frankfurter in Frankfurt!

All the ingredients were fresh, and the bun was soft and fluffy. The fries were perfect. Definitely go with the bacon and cheese fries, or switch it up with a side salad or sweet potato fries. The drinks are made to order at the bar, but I washed my burger down with a tall, cold pilsner. We also tried one of the legendary hot dogs which did not disappoint. Bacon, jalapeños and guac on a dog?! You bet!! The ambience makes you want to keep coming back, and the service is world class. I commemorated my first meal here with a new baseball cap sporting the hotvolee logo. A little taste of America in the heart of Germany, this place is everything I hoped for and more. What to do with an overly long layover at the Frankfurt Airport?…read moreEat frankfurters! With a lot of time to kill, I walked all over looking for a place to eat. Within the confines of Terminal 1, Hermann's seemed like my best option. I had the rindwurst with sauerkraut and a beer, and it felt like a perfect little Frankfurt experience. The rindwurst had a nice snap to it, and good flavor. This was food I would have been happy to eat even if I wasn't stuck at an airport. I liked it enough that a couple hours later I went back for another, and also tried the surprisingly great potato salad and a serviceable pretzel that in retrospect I could have done without. If I'm at the Frankfurt Airport again, I would definitely get a rindwurst and potato salad. Service was friendly on both visits. The decor was cute and the place was comfortable enough. Prost!

24.09.2026, too many on here said I needed to give them a second chance, first meal was 22.09.2026…read more(**), so we did...DUMB! We went to the other side of the restaurant, to get away from any prejudice from the other night. We ordered a simple pork knuckle, but instead of mashed potatoes we wanted roasted. the order came, a pork "Shank" and mashed potatoes, 10 minutes later when we were able to flag down our waitress I asked her to look at our plate and tell me what's wrong? She immediately saw that the potatoes were wrong and took off to correct it. another 10 minutes later we got enough roasted potatoes for 6 people, served in a 2 quart bowl. My wife and I ate maybe 10 pieces, before we laid down our forks. The pork "Shank" was disappointing, anyone who has had a pork "Knuckle" will know what I mean. After dinner we ordered a Expresso Martini for her and a "Adios Mo-Fo", a play on a "Long Island Ice Tea" in 10 minutes the wife got hers, and by the time she finished it my AMF, still had not arrived. When we were finally able to flag down our waitress and asked for the check I informed her to make sure the AMF was NOT on the bill. She tried to make excuses but I shut her down and asked for the check, again. When it came I told her I wanted a receipt, got it and pocketed it, and we walked back to the hotel. In our room I looked at the receipt and threw it down and raised my hands in a "Field Goal", the wife was like, "WTF!" so I showed her the bill, the AMF was not listed but they charged us 5.50 euro's for the additional roasted potatoes. the 5.50 euros is going to be the payment for the next yelp they get from me. I hope the owner sees this and understands this is NOT a way to run a business, if you can't run it properly with the staff you have then hire more, or train the ones you have, better! Read review #1 on kitchen sanitation madness. Gordon R would have fired the whole crew and shut the place down for sanitation and cross contamination issues.
