Sadly the backing on the treads adhered to the hardwood stairs and left a sticky residue damaging the wood.

Similar experience as other users. I spent nearly $400 on stair treads, he kept promising they were coming but they never shipped. He stopped responding to my inquiries. I filed an inquiry with the BBB, he never responded to them either. I recommend avoiding this business. read more

I was scammed by this company and spent approximately $300.00 on stair treads and they were never sent. I have called and sent emails to no avail. Do not order from this company! read more

Ordered from them years ago and liked the product. Pricey, but good. Recently ordered, FORTY DAYS ago, and nothing. Called the customer service number, and there's a voicemail saying to email them...at a proton mail account - which is the cheesiest mail service provider under the sun so right there, suspicious. They don't even have their own email server. Now I'm seeing reviews from this year on Yelp that they are dodging customers and saying they won't issue a refund. And the kicker, when you call, during hours, you get a voicemail that ends with "have a blessed day." I'm so tired of shady people hiding behind religious dogma. My next call with be to the Credit Card company to dispute the charge. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. And my favorite - they've locked down reviews on their site because they know they are defrauding people. I ordered from them directly and when I try to write a review, they block me. Good news! I opened a dispute case with PayPal, sent them some of the reviews on here, especially Stacy H's, to show that they've known for some time they couldn't fulfill an order and took my money anyway. Also said how you call and they don't answer, email and they don't answer. And lo and behold within hours, they gave me a refund. Good luck to the next person who falls into this trap. read more

This company took my money, almost two hundred dollars, but never delivered the product. After waiting for more than five weeks, I told them to give me my money back. They said they would cancel the order. Money was never refunded. I have filed a complaint with the BBB, my credit card company, and now here. Unless you're eager for a chance to be robbed, I would advise you to avoid this company. read more

This company is horrible.. I spoke to Amanda and I ordered samples (May 1) from them, they were never SENT. She (Amanda) was happy to send me an invoice ASAP for the samples $75..which were NEVER sent. When I requested an update (May 12) on the order weeks later. She had no idea what I was talking about and asked for my shipping address. Still got no response when I replied. Emailed again in June, with an update. Which was completely ignored. She didn't even give me a refund when asked for it. Luckily, I paid with PayPal and they refunded my money. Amanda is a thief and a horrible business person. if you want Treads go to truebullnose.com Diane is amazing to work with and responsive. read more

Copying and pasting my Better Business Bureau complaint, which should tell you all you need to know: On 11/21/2022, i placed an order for a set of stair treads. After several months of no shipping, i followed up, was told that the order was being worked on, but still nothing. I followed up again on 2/6/2023, and was told that the original carpet was on backorder. I was given the choice to select another color, which i did, and was told it was available. I followed up again on 3/13/2023 and was told it was being worked on and would ship soon. More than two months later, on 05/24/2023, i emailed again since it had not shipped, and was told that the new color I selected was also on backorder. I then requested to cancel and get a refund, which they agreed to, but the refund was never received, and I haven't heard anything from them, despite trying to contact them from several email addresses, contact forms, etc. read more

we placed an order in January and are still waiting for a delivery. No one answers the phone,no one responds to the emails, I think I got robbed read more

Not a good experience... I found Deans online while searching for the carpet treads I had in a previous house. Got the impression they were the best quality treads out there. Spent a ton of time on the site picking my treads. Payment went through immediately but never got an update on the order. A few weeks in, I started emailing them for help. Someone always responded but the delivery status never changed. After a month I asked for a refund and they honored my request. Something felt "off" about this entire situation. read more

Do not order from this company. I have the similar story as others; years ago I ordered their product and loved it. In April 2023, I made another order, they charged me $600 and later told me they were out of stock. Now they do not return calls or messages. It seems that they are still collecting $ with no intention of delivering. Do not order from this company read more

Took my money and the only thing I received was a string of excuses as to why the product wasn't being delivered and excuses that it's a custom handmade product. 4th month since ordering and still no resolution. I feel completely duped and this was my second time ordering from them. The first time years ago was fine and I built an entire remodel around this product and now have to find the same elsewhere. read more

I ordered stair treads back in October 2023 from Dean Stair Treads. On October 30th, they charged my CC for the order. Their website claims that orders ship within 2-3 weeks. Today it is January 22, 2024 and I still do not have any stair treads. That's three months! All I get in response to my inquiries about ship date and an update on my order are generic emails--no ship date, no nothing. After emailing and asking for updates five times over the course of the last 2.5 months, someone called and left me a message on January 11th, saying "it looks like we were out of the gold thread needed to finish your order, but it also looks like it was back in stock in December, so I am not sure what the hold up is. I am going to check with the warehouse and will have someone get back to you via phone or email within 24 hours." No one followed up with in 24 hours. No one has followed up at all. No one answers their phone. Their voicemail box is full. I cannot contact them via their FB page nor leave a review there. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced--if you can even call it customer service. If I could give them NEGATIVE 5 stars I would. read more

Doesn't deliver product and website is down now. Don't bother ordering. Now I have to file claims to get $$$ back. Terrible.

We ordered custom stair treads in August of 2022. They demanded $750 for the order. At first they were communicative about size and delivery. Over time, they were less responsive. Around March 2023, they gave a sob story about a divorce and sick parent. Now they don't ever answer the phone and don't respond to our emails. Literally took our money 16 months ago and are clearly out of business. Check the BBB listings. There have been 47 fraudulent claims in the last 12 months alone. DO NOT place an order with them. I'm out my $750, but hope you won't be. read more

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. If they never delivered your order, you are lucky, Mine was delivered in December 2029, this year I found out that the "non=skid" backing melted into my wood flooring. My house is kept between 65 and 72 F, the carpets were never wet. A nightmare to disengage the material from the wood floor, that is basically ruined. They never answered my e mails or phone calls, of course. read more

Great product at first, we loved it for a couple of years, until you try to remove and see it all peeling off its back on your new hardwood floor. Reaching out customer service is useless, they blame you instead of check what's wrong with their product. Don't waste $200+ of your money on this company, you will regret in a few years read more

SCAM. DO NOT BUY. Purchased treads almost 2 months ago. Repeated emails went unreturned. Filed complaint with BBB. The positive reviews on Google, all from "A Reviewer" seem fake. THIS COMPANY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY. read more

Tried to purchase stair treads from them for over a month. I received calls from the same woman who called herself Lucy, Tracy and Tina at different points in our interactions. I was looking for stair treads and Dean's was on top of the google search results. My bad that I didn't look up their reviews. Sadly like others on here, I ordered over $300 for custom stair treads and NEVER RECEIVED THEM. At first, they responded to my emails but now they won't return any of my emails or voicemails. It has been four months and the treads were supposed to arrive within 4-6 weeks. Very frustrating! read more

Run don't walk away from this company. Rude, insulting, emails from the first email. I felt like I was trying to deal with a child by their emails. Won't answer emails until you put 3rd email in the subject line. Item back ordered, would have never known if I hadn't sent an email asking why my things hadn't been shipped I just hope their product is better than their customer service. Had to block them, because of their awful emails read more

I ordered 2 sets of 15 stair treads on May 23rd, 2023. As of July 27th I had not received them and demanded a refund. So far they have only refunded me for 1 set and I am waiting for them to acknowledge and refund the second one. This has been a frustrating experience. read more

First Yelp should add a negative star for a company like this one. Just as others have mentioned on their reviews. Keep away from doing any kind of business with this company. They take your order online and charge your credit card immediately with only false promises of delivery. The product never gets delivered. No one ever answers the phone number listed on their site and getting a response whether email or return call is all but futile. They have 2 websites: www.stairgrippers.com and www.deanstairtreads.com Will file a compliant with the BBB read more

Buyers beware! I never received an order made 4 months ago, any updates--or replies to my requests for an almost $300 refund--only silence.

PLEASE DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!! I bought 6 stair treads in 2-6-2023. I hadn't received my produce so in May I contacted the company and was told my product is out of stock. I was told I could change the material to something in stock, so I did. 5 months later I still do not have my product. And no one answers the phone or emails. The one time the company did answered a person named Becka was rude and hung up on me. But before she hung up on me, she said the company was sold in early 2023. Buyer Beware!!!!! read more

Horrible customer service!!!!!!! I called to have a sample stair tread sent to me for evaluation. Mind you, I agreed to pay a pretty heft charge for the stair tread + shipping. After a week, nothing. I don't know WHAT has happened at Dean Stair Treads. I've ordered in the past and the rug pad was great but that's where the good ends. Flash forward to 4 years later. .. I ordered a set of stair treads so my older dogs can get up the stairs, well, after repeated calls and emails with promises of ""'we're getting ready to ship""" were empty, empty promises. After 5/6 months, my dog died, my sister died. I still needed the stair treads for me and my other aging dogs but I had to give up. Recently asked for my money back, which I had to beg for and STILL no refund. I agree with the others """Horrible"""! My recommendation is do NOT order from Dean Stair Treads, something is happening with this company read more

We;ve had them now for 4 years. They helped a greyhound, a whippet and 2 older people to not fall down the stairs. They still look like new. I did not believe they would work, but they do. Fulfilled our order at the height of Covid and there were a few hiccups but everything was resolved and we would/will do it again. Thank you. read more

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! They will happily charge your credit card without disclosing that they do not actually have the material, will give you a runaround for months, and then may fail to issue a refund when you finally realize that you're never going to get your item. If you have been overly patient, as I was, you may discover that they have managed to snooker you into waiting until the timeframe for easily submitting a payment dispute with your card provider has lapsed. More than seven months after taking my order and payment, the vendor has still not fulfilled the order, and has been completely unresponsive for the last 2-1/2 months to repeated requests by both email and voicemail for status updates, and, finally, for order cancellation and refund. I placed an order for bullnose stair treads on March 6, 2023. At the time of the order, the vendor charged my credit card in full. At the time of my order, there was no indication that the item materials were backordered. Beginning with a status inquiry about three weeks after placing my order, the vendor repeatedly claimed "supply chain issues" and indicated expected receipt of materials within timeframes ranging from 2 weeks to "about a month". On July 7, 2023, I requested the order be cancelled and refunded, and the vendor indicated by email that day that they would do so. As of July 21, no refund had been issued. When I contacted the vendor that day, he indicated that he expected the material in "2-3 weeks", so I opted to reverse my cancellation request. (Hindsight being 20/20, the fact that they had not processed the refund in two weeks should have been a huge red flag!) Unfortunately, that was the last I heard from him. Since then, my repeated contact efforts (emails and voicemails) for status updates, and eventually order cancellation and refund, all have gone unanswered. When I contacted Paypal to get a refund, they told me they could not do anything, because more than 180 days had elapsed since the original charge. I initially got a similar response from my credit card issuer, but a supervisor was eventually able to initiate a provisional chargeback, subject to potential response from Dean Flooring. As it turns out, my experience is not unusual. Dean Stair Treads has a BBB grade of "F". According to the BBB listing: "BBB files indicate that this business has a pattern of complaints alleging slow or non-delivery of purchased items and poor customer service and communication. Consumers allege that after paying for items online or over the telephone, the items arrive late or take months to be delivered. Some consumers who attempt to discuss purchases or receive updates are either unsuccessful or given incorrect information. On June 8, 2023, BBB submitted a written request to the company, identifying the potential patterns of complaint and requesting that the business responds with information on steps the company would take to help eliminate the underlying cause of complaints." read more

I had a VERY unhappy experience with this company. They took my money in September 2023, almost $200, and never delivered the product. I see the website is not even active any more. Why isn't the State of Georgia prosecuting them for consumer fraud? Our money should have been returned if DST was unable to deliver the product. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in January, telling BBB I would give DST until the end of March to deliver my product, a most generous offer, I believe, as my order was placed in September!!! I never heard back from BBB and I never received my money back. Georgia people, you should complain to the Attorney General. I am about to see if I can find a place to complain to the AG Consumer Fraud Division as well. read more

I have ordered from them three times. The first two times I received my items and was very happy with what I ordered. The third time, I never received my order and they took my money. This is not a real company anymore. It was my third set of custom stair treads and I knew what I wanted. After 3 months of being promised the product and it would ship soon, I am done. They don't answer their phone. What used to be a great company now is a scam. I have filed a claim with the BBB so others won't make this same mistake. The only payment method was through Affirm. Do not order anything from this bogus company. They kept my money and I never received the product. You will not get a response from them either. Terrible customer service. Nonresponsive. Our order has sat in "Awaiting Shipment" status for 3 weeks and there has been no update or no response to two emails and two voice mails regarding status that I left with their customer service department. So, I see I should have come here first before purchase. Suffice to say my dealings with Dean Stair Treads was horrific. I ordered treads on December 30th and now on February 24th I still have no treads. The email communication was terrible and everything he said regarding when I would receive my products was a lie. Multiple promised shipments that never shipped and an offer for a different color that he "had on hand" were lost in the ether as his follow and delivery were non-existant. My order was only $100 and I can't imagine going through all of this had I spent hundreds or thousands. Instead of fulfilling my order in a timely manner I received email after email of excuses. There are MANY other options for treads and you DO NOT want to deal with this company showed me was the way they do business. read more
