Before scheduling an appt make sure to check the patients insurance to be sure the Dr. is in network. My insurance changed to a different plan and not every patient will know what type of plan they have. I had an appointment and was seen before they checked my insurance and a month later I get a bill for $750 for services seen at Dr.Marcelin's office and when I spoke to the billing manager (not sure her name) she said "we have a new system and can't see what kind of insurance you have" ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Is this the new way to get money out of patients out of pocket cause you can't see the type of insurance and don't inform the patients before they arrive to their appt? I also spoke to Stephen and was much better to talk to then the other chic. So because I wasn't told that my insurance was out of network I had to pay this bill before they threaten to send to collections!

Maybe some of you are…read morefamiliar with this: you're a consultant and are constantly hunched like a gargoyle over your laptop screen for hours on end. Because there are no second monitors at your client site, you have 4 Excel windows open, all of which have numbers and text in Arial size 8 font. Let's not get into the Powerpoints, where as much infinitesimal text as possible is jammed onto a single slide. The Computer Screens of Death eventually caused me eye strain and migraines that were intolerable. Enter Dr. Lonky. After an extremely thorough eye exam, which included both distance and reading exams, tests for cataracts, etc. he was very honest in his assessment of my condition. The magnification for the glasses that I need are the type that can be purchased from any Duane Reade (aka those cheap glasses that are glorified magnifying glasses), but he would be willing to write me a prescription and have me start on the frame-selection process. Naturally, the fashionista in me opted for selecting designer frames. If I'm slowly going blind, I need to do it in style, right? Dr. Lonky has an adequate selection of designer frames and often runs sales on certain brands. Unfortunately, he does not have Chanel, but he does have Gucci, Fendi, and Michael Kors, amongst others. Two weeks later, my glasses were ready to be picked up. After a quick fitting and test of the glasses, I was on my way to becoming the best-accessorized consultant. Saturday appointments are difficult to come by, so if you know you need an eye exam, book at least 2 months in advance.

Office purchased by Mr Eye Dr. I am 74 years old and glasses I purchased there a few months ago lost small screw holding lens in place on Friday. Tried to get someone to tighten screw. Takes One minute. They refused to see me for two additional days. Outrageous! I could not use glasses at least three days. Incredible example of what happens when local professionals sell to large corporations. No human contact or sensitivity. They lost our entire family and hope more.

We waited till 9am in an office and no one came in to tell us if the dr was running late. Nothing. My mother had am emergency and we had to leave. I was livid that they do not know how to treat an elderly woman who has severe glaucoma. We were there once before and they did tests and they wanted to do additional, unnecessary tests as well as they wanted to charge her additional amount of money when she has 2 insurances. I would never recommend this dr to anyone. They are very inconsiderate of her time to limit her to all these tests that are unnecessary she she went through them the last time, disrespectful, no compassion for my mother's time, high costs, unnecessary procedures, and poor communication.

On the third time they gave me more tests than I wanted and probably needed and didn't tell me that they were doing them. Then got the bill which I intentionally did not pay so what did they do? They turned it over for collection and I will never pay it. They probably got some money from the collection agency but not as much and if you're out there, medical debt doesn't affect your credit profile nearly as much as other debt and I doubt that it'll ever get reported because it's not much money and I'll just use my Credit Karma app to report it. I have half a mind to makes some complaints to the people that oversee him. And to boot, in my opinion his bedside manner stinks, I feel like I'm being examined by a corpse.
