It's very difficult to find a dental office that is the right fit for the whole family. This was especially true where we live. I was referred to Dr. Funada's office by a few friends. I was reluctant at first because of the distance from our home. But let me tell you, the 1+ hour drive is totally worth it! I'd honestly drive farther for the quality of care my whole family receives here. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The office is bright, modern and welcoming. I am pleased that Dr. Funada has awesome Dental Hygienists working for him! Our previous Dentist did the cleaning herself, which to be honest, didn't feel as clean as it should have been. Here's a tip, ask to have Amy as your Dental Hygienist. She knows her stuff! She is so friendly and gets the cleaning done right. She's just overall awesome! Even if you don't get Amy, the rest of the team is just as awesome! Dr. Funada himself is very friendly, funny and knowledgeable. He's able to answer any concerns we have about our teeth. You can tell he cares about his patients. One thing I love about him is that he takes the time to make small talk before getting down to business. From the moment Barbara took me back for X-rays and chatted like we were good friends, to meeting Dean Funada. The doctor is very easy to talk with, very personable and very professional. All the attributes I look for in a dentist for me. Amy was my hygienist and she was kind, warm and great at her job. Dr. Funada is one of the most technically proficient and compassionate dentist that I've ever encountered in my life. His work is pure mastery of the dental trade and I seldom feel any discomfort during the injections and certainly feel nothing during the procedure. A dentists office is not one of my favorite places to have to go to, however, I KNEW I needed a crown. I took several days in searching for a new Dentist & I ALWAYS kept coming back to Dr. Funada. To set a time for my initial visit, I called & spoke with Kaitlin. She is as warm, kind, genuine and caring in person as she sounds on the phone. She called my insurance for me, after I got approved, 20 minutes later I had my first appointment set for a few days after that. Upon arriving, there was this peace I felt in the office which made me feel relaxed right away. I was greeted by Maria, another kind lady. She took a needed x-ray, then Dr. Funada came in. We talked and I felt as though I'd known him for a long time, he felt like more of a friend than a stranger. After my exam, we discussed the crown and the work that needed to be done. I left looking forward to my next visit as well as telling my family and friends that I have found a dentist that is kind, considerate, a great listener and so very easy to be around. He made me feel comfortable and I knew I'd made the right choice by coming here. On my FOLLOW-UP Appointment I was delightfully surprised!!! They offered me head phones if I wanted to listen to music, there's a small screen with a beautiful animated waterfall on it and a genuine concern for my comfort seemed top on their list. Working in tandem, Dr. Funada and Maria explained each step they were going to take next. THIS IS ONE DOC THAT HAS THE CORNER ON THE MARKET when it comes to numbing!!! I thought the cotton rolls were the "new thing on the market" because I couldn't feel the shot of novocaine at all!!! I was given a type of sunglasses to wear that protected my eyes (and make up from smearing) that were better than my regular glasses. To prevent dry lips, a touch of vaseline was put on my lips to keep them moist while he worked on my tooth. I really appreciated that since in yrs. past my lips felt dry and felt parched. I liked Dr. Funada's way of doing things from start to finish. He and his staff are people with a high integrity level, genuine in their care, makes you feel sincerely valued, are good natured and have a great sense of humor. Best dental experience ever! Just for a bit of context, I have a mild to moderate fear of dental work, especially of shots due to passing out during past dental procedures. Since these episodes, I have developed many coping strategies from listening to music during procedures to being connected to oxygen. Dr. Funada did a great job on my most recent filling and was extremely accommodating. He listened to my needs and made sure I was comfortable. When I told him I had my playlist ready, he offered to let me use the office's Bose noise canceling earphones to use. Later, when the hygienist noticed I had repositioned my legs, she offered me a knee pillow. Neither of these things have ever been offered to me at a dentist in the past. When he found he was low on his nitrous oxide supply, he was honest with me and presented his plan to use what he had to get me through the numbing shot and told me I would not be charged for it. He was phenomenally gentle with the shot; I don't think I even felt it. All in all, an awesome experience. I cannot recommend Dr. Funada and his practice enough! Thank you Dr. Funada! read more

Dr. Funada is an outstanding dentist! I've been unfortunate to have had tons of dental work in the past due to broken teeth from an accident when I was young, so, I'm extremely picky with having a really good dentist that I can trust. We recently moved to EDH and I hated the fact that I had to find a new dentist. But after thorough research, I settled in with Dr. Funada and I'm ecstatic that I found such a good dentist. I had a lot of dental work (2 crowns, some fillings and deep cleaning), and what a wonderful job Dr. Funada and his staff did! Just outstanding dental work, no pain and thorough follow-up. On top of this, their front office was very nice with detailed information on the billing and insurance process..net, no surprises. The dental hygienists and Dr. Funada are extremely detailed and have educated me more in the past year than my previous dental practices combined educated me over 40 plus years. BEST DENTAL EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD HANDS DOWN! Just the thought of going to the dentist used to give me a great deal of anxiety. With each additional dentist appointment my phobia seemed getting worse. I had heard great things about Dr. Funada and was willing to give him a try. As soon as I walked through the door I was greeted by his friendly staff. As I was taken to the back and sat down, I immediately warned them of my situation. I explained that I was terrified on needles and was prone to fainting. Dr. Funada and his assistant were very understanding and put me at ease.
