I just spent a couple of hours trying on amazing clothing here with my GF. Most shops I have been to have disappointed me with the variety of masc leaning clothes, and don't like shopping for clothes in general. Frankly, this is the first time I have enjoyed myself trying on a bunch of different things. Plenty of interesting styles to try on with a great variety of sizes. The staff were all super friendly and helpful and they even make a lot of their own gear so customization is on the table. Another 5 star review for Deadly Couture! Saturday they had a Black Friday sale with all in stock items 25% off. I could not wait ! Lucky when we arrived the store wasn't too busy so we were able to look at the latex and try it on without having to wait. They have by far the biggest. & best selection in Vancouver- (actually prob the entire Pacific Northwest ) as I could not find much latex/rubber in Seattle and locals actually told me to shop here in Vancouver !! When it comes to rubber / latex clothing, They have Polymorphe, Honour, Skin Two as well as Bespoke Deadly Couture latex and a few other assorted brands. As usual the customer service was attentive and helpful. The owner Jenny is awesome. ! She always is friendly and fun to talk to. Considering that a large amount of latex sold there is her designs - she isn't pushy at all when it comes to her stuff. In fact she is very modest. ( her stuff is super cool and can be custom made for you -size, colour texture & trim ) Plus She laced up the corsets I was trying on. Which is defiantly helpful! I ended up buying one as well as a few other outfits and I am thrilled with my purchases! I really hate to say this, but I received nothing but unfriendly service here. As someone who used to be very alternative but now dresses more casually, it's really disturbing how much offhand elitism you encounter in this store(s). All the employees seem to think that unless you look like you just stepped out of a Killstar photoshoot, you're not even worth their time. Or a friendly attitude. I bought my friend here who was eager to try some Demonia boots and we ended up leaving with a terrible experience. Meaning that we got terrible service (ie. We were ignored despite the fact there was NO ONE ELSE in the store). The staff member (white, dyed blue hair) also had problems with us taking pictures of the shoes for Instagram. This was for a small school project, where we just featured cool shops around Gastown. We literally went to 30 stores and NOBODY had a problem with this except for them. She actually told us that we could only take pictures if we purchased something? I've never heard of anything like this before? (Maybe she was aware of her awful attitude and was afraid I'd say something about it? There's Yelp and Google Reviews for that!) If you weren't comfortable with us taking pictures for whatever reason, just say so. Is being super cold and rude a nessecary add-on? She even said that "you might disturb the customers", despite the fact that a) there were no other customers and b) how is taking pictures of shoes going to "disturb customers"? It was not a good first impression of the "goth" (I use this term loosely) scene for my friend and I'm honestly really embarrassed for DC. This is Vancouver's leading store in fetish and rubber wear. They carry tons of different brands of men's and women's alternative clothing. They also carry accessories and shoes and some hair falls, so no matter your style, goth, punk, lolita, pinup, steampunk, they will probably have threads for you. Don't walk by too fast or you may miss the front door! If you can see Venus & Mars, just follow the stairs underneath and you will find yourself at Deadly Couture. The store itself is quite small, and on Saturday afternoons, can get a little cramped, but the goods are all packed in, and there is a ton of styles to chose from. The store is run by a lady named Jenny, who will go out of her way to make sure you have the right size in the outfit you have picked, and even go so far as to do alterations for you (on the spot sometimes) just so you can wear your new outfit out that evening! Now is that customer service or what?! She has a friendly staff of cute girls who are always smiling and giggling and look like they just stepped out of Harajuku. Tiny little store with the clothing well packed in. It is hard to look at items. However, they have a good selection of dresses that appealed to me. I found two dresses I liked enough to want to buy: one looked to be consignment and the only one of its kind in the store: it fit me well so I bought it. The other was a fantastic dress with rainbows, skulls, and girls on it. Unfortunately, they had every size but the one I needed. Pricing is actually quite good: the same dress cost $11 more online @ Blame Betty (who is also sold out of my size.) Staff is pretty hands off unless you ask for help: this may or may not be a service level you like. I also visited the downstairs 'latex' room where the staff exhibited the same hands-off service (though bordering on poor service) as I stood at the counter for a couple minutes trying to ask about sizing and I never got help. read more

Well, well, darling, aren't you looking sexy? This place had some exquisite latex, some fun accessories and so much hosiery! I felt that this place was definitely a treasure chest of goodness - and badness in the best way possible- and most folks should find a little something to lead them astray in the vast selection. I see some of the reviews mention some odd treatment, and while we didn't have bad service, I did feel that our clothing being more 'tourist' than 'torture' seemed to have an impact on the service we got. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to come in and I did enjoy being able to browse reasonably unfettered, but they seemed very shocked to know that yes, I know all about latex wear. I love the clothes and sexy outfits, unfortunately I will never return to purchase something there again. I find the staff cliquey and rude. Which is surprising to walk in and be looked up and down, glared at when those who work there aren't really the average normal looking people in the first place. Reminded me of a bunch of insecure high school girls. I felt so awful inside by the way the staff looked at me, spoke to me. It was so off putting that I couldn't even continue shopping. I left. I will never go back there again on the basis of the staff being rude, snotty and judgmental. I guess you have to look their part to get the proper help service and.. treatment. Once again. I will never return there again. someone sent me a message saying " maybe it's you that's negative" I don't walk around being negative. The owner is usually fantastic and super helpful, but today's experience with another staff member was so terrible I had to write a review. I've seen a few poor reviews due to certain staff and today I understand why. My story: I wanted to check my corset size as I was in the market for a new one. Every time I've gone in to this store I've felt comfortable and welcomed, but today there was a different staff member working. I was given a rude "hey" by this person when I walked in (almost as though I was bothering her) and then left on my own & completely ignored when I needed help. After selecting a corset on my own I had to wait in front of the change room until the staff member finally decided she would pay attention to me and let me try it on. Once in the change room I was in there for a while trying to put the corset on and tight lace it without help at the same time. In any other store, based on the amount of time I was in the change room I would have been asked if I needed help or a different size. However, I was left on my own to fumble and finally take the tangled corset off. Keep in mind, there was no one else in the store! Eventually I gave up and left the change room frustrated and feeling ignored. I wanted to look at other items, but felt completely unwelcome so I left. I'll be looking at other corset stores in the future. Disappointed to see one staff member ruin a customer's experience which has truly impacted both my ability to recommend this store and return. I stopped in here to buy myself some shoes a few weeks ago and ended up leaving with a fabulous hoodie and necklace instead! The store owner Jenni is incredibly friendly and welcoming to every single person who comes in, even if they leave empty-handed. There are endless amounts of skirts, dresses, tops, corsets, pants, shoes, accessories and jewelry... All ranging from simple to frilly to latex. I want it all! Sadly the shoes I was after are made by a line that Deadly Couture doesn't carry so I was out of luck. (T.U.K shoes, if anyone is curious) But I did spend quite awhile gazing at the awesome shoe selection and tried a few pairs on. The store used to be really small but it seems they've taken over the business that was next door. Deadly Couture was probably my most favorite place Steve and I went to when we went clothes shopping in Vancouver! The place is divided up between men's and women's clothing so we did not go to the ladies section on our first visit here, we just stayed in the guys. The men's section was not small for whatever you may want to label this place. It is a cross between gothic and fetish gear for sure. The merchandise was unique and had brands that I was not too familiar with but had ones that I did know, like Shrine for instance. In one part of the men's section they had a considerable selection of rubber shirts which were really cool! I actually bought a pink, rubber rain jacket here. Sure, that coat may be good in the rain but my motive for getting it was more for costuming purposes. Deadly Couture also has an online store so if you live in the states you can shop online and they will ship it to you! I was a little surprised by the one negative review, as I have had nothing but fantastic experiences and customer service when shopping here and have many friends (even non goth ones) that have nothing but nice things to say about this store, but some people are just hard to please I guess. I came here for the first time a few months ago and decided that I was going to buy my first latex piece. Deadly Couture offers a huge selection and I spent the first 20 minutes not really knowing where to start. Jenni was very patient with me while I tried on about a million different dresses and spent forever trying to decide which on to get. After wearing my dress out to Sin City that night, the zipper got stuck and I couldn't undo it all the way. I took it back to the store for Jenni to have a look at, and since it was stuck really good she sent it back to the manufacturer and exchanged it for a brand new one, no problem! Luv this cute fetish/rubber latex shop in gastown, great staff with great clothes!! Of couse the first thing I had my eyes on were the hand made corset's{ designed by a lovely lady who owns the shop?} and had to try on a amazing latex skirt to top it off. The staff were super helpful, they had me try on a feather shrug and little top hat that finished the outfit to maximum fetishness. My main goal here was to pick up a new wig for my Priss halloween costume and a top and fishnets to complete my Blade runner inspired theme. I will be returning to buy a few outfits for some Noir nights and Sin outings. If my wallet can afford the luxury of super sexy outfits that is! If you need something to wear to Sin City, Plur, or Noir, this is your best bet. Pro tip: they sell festival belts to hold all your goodies so you can boogie hands-free. For the cluster of little alternative/fetish clothing shops in this area Deadly Couture is my favourite. Jenny at Deadly Couture is an AMAZING person and will do what she can to make sure you get what you want when you come there. She even does alternations on items. A friend of my bought a top there with plastic boning in it and she wanted it switched for metal boning. Jenny did this for a very cheap cost that was basically just covering materials not labour. The store has just recently expanded and is now much larger. I love the new layout as it gives much more room to look through racks and not feel so crowded and claustrophobic like the place did before. Also, they are able to carry much more stock too. The huge row of corsets will make any girl drool with desire (or maybe it's just me...). They carry both men's and women's clothing but much more women's stuff then men's. Just got back from a visit to Deadly Dichotomy - or Deadly Couture as some may know it - and as always, I had a delicious time. Deadly makes and sells goth and fetish wear, as well as selling many popular brands. Jenny, the owner, produces her own line of products which are reasonably priced and solidly constructed. The corsets are made with high quality spiral metal boning (corset enthusiasts will know at once what I'm talking about!) and she will take special orders although she is in high demand so be prepared for a bit of a wait on made-to-order goods. If you are a frequenter or Sin City, Sanctuary or any of the other goth/fetish events, you're already very familiar with this place. If you're not but have always wanted to play dress up, Deadly has plenty to offer in the way of clothing and expert advice. The friendly staff will soon have you strutting around the shop. I get so many compliments on the dresses I have bought here. From risque club wear to 50's frocks that I can rock at an office party this place has it all. It is also a good place to get lingerie that is actually nice - not overpriced and scratchy like so many places. I also have several corsets from here which have really stood the test of time - years later and they still look as good as ever. LOTS of stuff for Halloween plus about 100 dresses I just want to buy for the rest of the year. They have both an upstairs and a downstairs so make sure you check out both. I'm really surprised by Vanessa's review. Certainly this has never been my experience. Today I went in wearing a white cotton sundress and I've never gone in wearing anything even close to the pieces I've bought but have always been treated like a valuable client. I've had many different people serve me that haven't known me and it's always been the same, courteous, helpful service. I could spend a paycheque in no time here between the gorgeous rubber pieces, lovely lacey frilly dresses and blouses, pretty corsets and cinchers, sexy shoes, fishnets, accessories, etc. The store recently expanded and has more room for browsing the aisles. They have a decent selection of men's items too. Do you think many other dads are getting rubber booty shorts tomorrow for Father's Day? Highly unlikely! She said she really liked this brand of clothing called Lolita because of the designs and the long sleeves. But Deadly Couture is the only shop around that carries Special Effects hair dye (a kickass brand that I highly suggest you check it out if you're on the market). I was a bit apprehensive going in, as I didn't know what to expect. The shopowner, Jenny, was busy with some ladies, so I perused by myself for a while. When she was finally free to help, I felt super welcomed and she didn't make me feel stupid for asking questions. (Which, as someone who clearly didn't belong in that store, was an awesome surprise.) It was kind of like talking to a very knowledgable friend. Probably one of the best customer experiences I've had. I left the store with a bottle of dye and a smile on my face. My favourite place in all of Vancouver, and usually the first place I stop at when I visit. If you love bdsm and fetish related items and clothing then there's no better store that I've ever experienced. The latex room is heaven, so much glorious rubber packed into such a tinny space. Almost makes it hard to look sometimes, but I find that half the fun. There's also great selections of shoes, lace, and other clothing too if that's your thing too. There's a fantastic wig store upstairs, and all 3 parts are worth a look. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I've always had good help from them when it comes to sizing and trying stuff on, and have enjoyed many a chat with the staff. If I had to complain about anything, it would be that it can get very warm and stuffy inside in the summer. So be warned.
