It was very cosy upstairs and fans helped circulate air so it seemed cooler than the outdoor seating. Small bathrooms were also located here behind a blue wall. We liked that they had a good variety of seafood options on the printed menu but also the specials that day. Pricing was quite reasonable compared to other places we checked out earlier. I walked downstairs to place my order and ordered the mussels, octopus, fried shrimp cake and a drink. However, after returning to our table someone came up to ask me to pay again as it seemed like the first terminal had some issue. Turned out that they ended up canceling the octopus order but that wasn't clearly explained, we inferred that's what happened with the lower tab bill. I guess it worked out since we filled up quickly on the generous bowl of mussels (nice and meaty) and used up all the bread to soak up the delicious broth. The fried shrimp cake was crisp on the outside and tasty. As others pointed out, there was at least one gruff guy (the one who took my initial order) but the servers handling the service on the 2nd floor were very nice and neatly setup everything on our tiny table. You can browse for hours - just bring cash. You must find the Moroccan stand near the theater building - look for the with two guys making mezze wraps and the long line. They start with handmade roti made minutes before serving and add fresh soft cheese and honey. If you have the palette of a child - you can stop there. The advanced level adds touches of dried figs, marinated artichokes, sundried tomatoes, roasted peppers and spicy olives. Yes, still with honey drizzled on. Add the Moroccan tea and for EUR 4,50 you have an incredible smattering of flavor where each bite is different.

The menus and the whole place all gives a Belgian seafood vibe with lots of upscale selections like mussels, steak, scampi, etc. The entire menu is in Dutch, so bring a friend or use Google translate! Much of their beer has tons of belgian dark beers and more than the food menu! I think they have 4 pages of just beers and drinks while only having 1 for food haha. We ordered the one with mussels ( gegratineerde musselen) with torched cheese on the top and the runds steak. We also downed a their chocolate and dark beer which the chocolate beer in particular is a must try. The mussels were extremely good and cooked perfectly, the cheese mixed well, and the steak was cooked rare and delicious. I did post the receipt so you can see but basically the meal with appatizer amounted to about 42 euros per person which is what I expected for a more upscale place like this. I think if you only know English it can be a challenge to read the menu, but I still recommend this spot for a fancy meal.
