Yesterday I spent four hours there with a friend. We're both very into gardens and it was easy to geek out over the tremendous variety of plants. Greenhouses hold tropical and desert collections, and outdoor areas have deciduous flowers and trees, Chinese garden, a succulent area, and a pond.
There are also a few other features that make it worth spending an afternoon: a small tea cafe, a plant shop, and a lawn with lounge chairs to relax in. Even though it wasn't sunny and was relatively chilly under overcast skies, it was a pleasure to lean into those chairs for a while.
Definitely worth a visit, especially as it's easy to reach via tram 5. And the best thing of all? It's free!
