After you pay for your ticket at the front desk, you put your jackets and loose items in a locker (free) and pickup an audio tour device and program it for your preferred language (easy). You get a yummy cocktail to savor at the end! And there's a fun gift shop to peruse, where we bought tulip glasses for the purpose of drinking Genever . We enjoyed the Espresso martini and Red Light Negroni at the bar at the end. Both were made skillfully and tasted delicious! The highlight of the experience, honestly, was meeting Lars (aka "Larson") and Julia at the front desk. They were hilarious with each other and delightful with us. They helped us package the 6 tulip glasses in paper within styrofoam boxes for sturdy protection during travel. They are the true stars of this operation.

It's located near Museumplein by all of the major museums which was so convenient. I was interested in doing a cocktail class with the tour, but wasn't sure if I could book the class with the I Amsterdam card. I sent an email through the website and a DM on Instagram and no one responded, which was disappointing. When I arrived, I inquired about it. They offered to let me upgrade my ticket, but I declined. Once I got checked in, I received a vial of a mystery flavored genever to taste at the end of the tour. The tour is self guided and it is truly a sensory experience. The tour starts with the history of Bols, then goes into the process of making genever. There are interactive elements throughout. It was really cool to see Lucas Bols' original recipe book from 1820. Towards the end of the tour, I tried the mystery genever in the sensory booth. I don't remember the flavor, but it was red and it was sweet. The sensory booth contains a camera that records your reaction as you're tasting it. At the end of the tour, guests are able to enjoy a complimentary cocktail. The bar area was really cool. They have a flair booth where you can learn how to spin and throw cocktail bottles. They also had house music playing which created a fun vibe. The bartender that made my drink was Serchan (pronounced "Sar-John"). He was so nice and let me sample a couple of genevers. I ordered the First Aid cocktail. It was citrus forward and refreshing! He also printed out a receipt with the cocktail recipe. I threw some cash in the tip jar and learned that they accept cash in any currency! This was a fun experience! Any activity where I can have a delicious cocktail and learn something new is right up my alley.

The ladies who run this space add creative, enthusiastic flare to their inspiring venue to help your ideas develop. It's choice location in the inner canal belt makes this a grade A+ venue for work and social gatherings, easily accessible by tram and bike. The views ain't bad either; you can see as far as the Marnixstraat from it's second story window. Canals as far as the eye can see! These ladies have carefully curated their snacks; making sure they tick all the boxes for any kind of diet. They also have drip and SUPER FANCY coffee - don't forget to ask for a flat white! They are Aussies, after all. The venue is equipped with high speed wifi, chrome cast and funky tunes. There's a whiteboard wall (!) and if you're like me and have a weird thing about stationary and office supplies, you'll basically want to live up there. There are 3 large rooms, all beautifully decorated and themed with names (ask them about it!) to help you get into your creative groove. If you love quiet, victorian inspired decor, you'll love the Library. Would highly recommend their service/venue.

Attic floor room with 20 foot high ceilings and a window so high up you couldn't look outside. There were two steps up from the entrance and bathroom level. I guess they were afraid people would trip in the dark, so motion sensors illuminate the area whenever there is any movement - so lights are going on and off all night - maybe mice? There was no single space to lay out a suitcase or any items, no luggage rack or counter space in the bathroom at all. We should have asked for another room, but we just arrived from an overnight flight and needed to sleep. This room reminded me of where Momi and Rodolfo lived in La Boheme. This was not Marriott quality at all. This was just attic space they made into a rentable room.

When it converted to a hotel in 2004, the architectural status required many of the elements to stay; the hotel has 40 different authentic rooms, no two rooms are the same. Our suite is comfortable with high ceilings, large windows, large bathroom (with a desk), complimentary mini bar, personalized room scent, etc. It's conveniently located to the Museumplein, very accommodating staff.

The cafe recently opened near the Hoofddorplein and is already getting very popular with the locals. I totally get why, since Bert makes a delicious coffee and is also a very cool guy who is in for a little chat. The good reputation of their Antwerp location also does not hurt at all. Antwerp location? Well yes, Caffènation is a much loved coffeeshop in Antwerp. We are very lucky that Bert fell in serious love with a Dutch girl because that is what brought him here! And now he owns the Caffènation location here in Ansterdam. Cool stuff right? Coffee lovers will really enjoy the big drinks menu at this place which offers a lot of different choices like cappuccino and espresso but also more adventurous drinks like a 'Ginger Spice' or a 'Bitter Moon'. Last few times I went with a flat white (like usual, they are my favorite!) and that tasted great. The space is quite big and has a lot of cosy spots to sit. You can even come over with a group of friends since in the downstairs area are a lot of seats. Great right?! Not so crowded like most city center spots and a way nicer and more personal vibe. I can imagine this place would do great for working or studying as well. Just go soon because i'm sure this place be discovered by the big crowds soon!

First of all, the service/the owner was up his game in a very attentive and polite way, at the same time very laid back chill kinda way. Love that about a place as much as I love my good cappuccino. We ordered one cappuccino and one latte, 2 sweets: pear chocolate cake and fruit passion pastry. The cappuccino is really good, so they have my blessing from now on. Also the sweets were good, I didn't enjoyed that much my pear chocolate cake and I went and took another fruit passion pastry and the guy was sorry I didn't like it, so nice :) And this is one big coffee place, very chill sfeer, not your usual small crowded hipster coffee place. And it's pretty close from Vondel Park :) You will be seeing more of me and my friends there, I always take my friends in the places I love.
