After quick search, I ended up coming here. I think we are talking about the same guy, but thought he was patient and kind enough to me, lol! Anyhow I picked octopus, razor clam, and some oysters - they were all tasty, but the best was octopus! It was so tender and flavorful...perfect combo with hummus (and bread)! The servers were also kind and helpful while eating upstairs. Yes, the stairs might be narrow and not so easy to go up and down, but it was great lunch experience!

The guy out in front wasn't the friendliest but the server that brought our food and cleaned our table was super friendly and nice. Their fried seafood were amazing too. The tables are small, and not sure why they gave us the table by the restroom upstairs that was completely in the way of the server when other tables were open too. Clean table and clean bathroom was a plus!

I wanted some seafood for my first meal in Brussels and specifically walked over here after all the…read morereviews I read. This was a combo fish monger and restaurant in one. Large refrigerated cases faced the street with a variety of fresh fish, shellfish and premade seafood items. In the back the kitchen and food prep were visible and completed restaurant or to go orders were queued at its own counter (though staff would drop off at your table). Prices were quite reasonable comparing them to other restaurants in the more touristy streets. Also the cashier was very friendly with both locals and visitors. My favorite was the razor clams followed by the mussels and fish soup. Each was nicely seasoned and good size/ meaty for the shellfish. A separate bowl was also provided to hold all the empty shells. The WCs were located down a spiral staircase in the rear of the restaurant and was tiny. Overall a great start to my eating in Brussels.

I loved them both, but since I was not sure I would ever get to try the Dutch style in my life-time and despite it being a bucket list food, I was so enormously grateful. Even more grateful because it tasted amazing. I plowed through more than one I must admit. I might never get to try it again so I had to get more than one. Don't judge me. LOL. Anyway, the lady that helped me once I had one of the pickled and one of the cured ones was very patient and very kind. She seemed genuinely interested in what I thought and listened to me as I gushed like a fan boy over their products. I will never forget that and I was very appreciative. The place is pretty close to central, downtown Brussels and it was nice to just go to a table out in a courtyard and enjoy one of the favorite things I had on that trip. It was awesome.

wow, what is there to not like about this place…read more first, let me tell you their service is exceptional and very friendly to tourists which is hard to get sometimes in the area. we put our name down an hr before our requested time and they were very accommodating to save us the table. we originally came for the famous moules frites. found out it was all sold out for the night and we were very disappointed. we still decided to stay and try Georges4 due to the glowing reviews. thankfully, we were not let down twice! my bf and i ended up ordering just a bowl of fish soup and the waterzooi which is a specialty at Georges. i've had waterzooi previously in Boston and wouldn't say i was a fan.. but wow, Georges' waterzooi definitely changed my impression on the dish entirely! the bowl came with 3-4 types of fish fillet accompanied by other small sea critters like baby shrimps and musles. the dish delivered such a fragrant ocean breeze and the flavors were spot on! the fish were not overcooked and simply to perfection! the fish soup was very delicious too! a little pricey but really worth it to try! it will set your benchmark for fish soup very high for future bowls lol overall, i would recommend georges IV if you're in gent! the seafood is super fresh! tip for travelers: they offer free wifi!
