I was concerned that it'd be hard to get the joint properly repaired, and/or prohibitively expensive. I stopped by Custom Metal Manufacturing around opening time. The workshop is a treasure trove: minibikes, custom signs, and sculptures everywhere. Ed and Gerard were super friendly and great storytellers. Ed looked at the frame, said "I can fix that", and fired up his welding gear right away. Ten minutes of good conversation later the work was done, and at a very reasonable price. I liked how they discussed the potential causes and acknowledged that we couldn't be sure where the water was entering. They sealed flashing and the attachment holes for nearby downspouts. They picked up right away and basically said it needs replacement with their proprietary updated Smart Thermostat S40. I was referred to their website to find a premium dealer and found Izmirian. I had used them years ago and called them up to help replace the thermostat for my Lennox HVAC AC and variable stage heater. Apparently they do not sell direct to consumer since installs may be complex and required professional assistance. Their staff answered right away and I got an appointment for the end of the week when my schedule was more open. I was scheduled initially as the second appointment for the morning so was given a range of 2 hour time slot to expect the technician. A couple days later they called me to offer the first slot which had a specific appointment time of 9:30am and I took it. I was quoted an hourly rate and they estimated it would be an hour or so of labor. Joe arrived on time and was very friendly and helpful and answered all the HVAC and thermostat questions. He was very knowledgeable. He was efficient and had great communication skills. We walked through the on screen and smartphone setup process without issue. He finished within the hour. Highly recommended! Will be calling them in the future for any future HVAC needs.
