I needed one new hang standard to make my Elfa system accommodate multiple tasks. I first tried going to the Container Store in Palo Alto. The head Elfa woman at that store (Megan?) was extremely rude. I left frustrated and confused with what should have been a simple purchase. The next time I had business in the Bay Area, yesterday, I tried the San Jose location on Stevens Creek. OMG, night and day difference in experience! Becky retrieved the piece I thought I needed. When I commented that it looked different, she showed me the track and asked if it was the same as my track. Even though Becky has only worked for the Container Store for a few years, she is knowledgeable about the older, discontinued Elfa systems! We talked pleasantly about my options. I went home with the newer hang standard, which at least have slots that align to my older standards. Becky went out of her way to make sure I have her contact information. She even offered to put together a new system for me to just pick up, if I emailed her a picture of my current system with measurements. The entire interaction was friendly and helpful. I will definitely return to the San Jose Container Store and tell my friends! I am disabled and have an accent, but neither of those qualities make me stupid. I don't know why the woman in Palo Alto talked to me that way.

Yes, there are things I could use at home that would enhance my organization, but I probably need to go in with at least some dimensions and a vision which would help make things easier. I usually come out with a few trial items or things mainly for extra storage for clothing, swimwear, kitchen, gear, and travel. The Container Store is being acquired by Bed, Bath, & Beyond. They're making some shelf / retail space in the store for some of BBB's products. I appreciate how they sell Cadence because I have seen them online, but never in person. They are pretty pricey, but I can see how they could be beneficial for traveling. No, I have yet to try them myself. I like they are magnetic and are offered in various fun colors. Look into coupons that could be used now that they're going to be a part of BBB. Can't wait to see how they make the floor plan and what merch they decide to offer.

They did forget to order the shelves for the Elfa portion of our order so that is why the garage is not done yet. I also ordered and paid for jewelry storage that came in the wrong size so that is something that was delayed. We original had some work for our laundry room but they would have had to move our washer and dryer and that would have been too troublesome. Overall, I liked the result. I wanted my wife and I to digest what really happened. I wanted to determine if the ladies of "Organized Life" really did what I paid them to do. First, let me preface by saying if you are a horder, you may have a difficult time with their service. They are not there to go through every piece of garbage you may find valuable and also be your therapist. That would take FOREVER, and this isn't a reality TV show. However, what it is, is a superb service. If you have found yourself living comfortably numb, and have just accumulated STUFF over the years and realize one day that it is time to make a change. They are the crew to help you purge and organize. Molly, Marie and the 3rd girl's name eludes me. For that I sincerely apologize because she was no less outstanding. These young ladies came in, assessed and got busy. We hired them to clear and organize our garage that we used as a storage for years. Stuff we had not touched in 15 years. Some new, but most old. One of the best things I think that this crew possesses is the ability to relate to the homeowner in such a way that the homeowner is not feeling trampled upon, BUT at the same time respectfully probing and prodding to move the process of purging along. Nobody wants to get rid of things they find value in, but if you haven't touched the stuff in several years, what are you really doing? Our reason to hire these ladies was two fold. 1st, we want to prepare to buy another house and move. 2nd, we have gotten older and our bodies physically don't hold up to continously, non stop physical labor as they once did. Needless to say, these ladies had our garage cleared out in about 1.5hrs...maybe an hour and twenty minutes and ready for my wife and I to sift and sort. The sifting and sorting is ABSOFUCKINGLUTELY what takes the longest in the entire process. I can honestly say these girls did in a day what would have probably taken months for my wife and I to finish ourselves...if at all. These girls NAILED IT! They strategized, improvised, and organized. There has been a weight lifted!

Between working and school full time, combining two homes, and kids coming home from college I couldn't catch up. When I would try to organize and put things away I wouldn't know where to start. These wonderful ladies came in and lifted so much stress off my shoulders. Everything has its place, they found things I forgot I had and purged what I didn't need. She didn't offer brochures, inquire about our project or ask for our contact information so someone who "actually works there" could follow up with us. We left disappointed & frustrated with the Gen Z employee who was more interested in her phone. Management can confirm all of this on their showroom's video recording system.

There is definitely an element of treasure hunting and I will absolutely assume a catcher's position to see what's on the bottom/back shelf. Lately they've had some great Le Creuset items (ceramic bakeware) that I've gotten as gifts and for my own kitchen at about half off of listed prices. They have it all for your home- cooking implements, textiles, bedding, storage solutions, furniture, decor, pet items, novelties, lamps, art, rugs, even food. While they have a lot of mass merchandised items, they do stock on occasion department store brands- Viking, All Clad, Calphalon, British and Japanese pottery, Emille Henry, Mikasa, Dansk, etc. I've snagged some great Ralph Lauren sheets here. Keep your eyes open and you will find some great deals. You definitely would be surprised how they restock and fill in areas from day to day. It's a quick look if you're in the neighborhood and might be worth your while. You may need to wait a bit in line but it's worth it. Largely a pleasant shopping experience if you can count on your reflexes when stuff falls due to the overstocked nature of the store.
