We purchased a jade bracelet for $64 and a small jade ring for my daughter. I also purchased a tiger's eye bracelet and ring for myself at a discounted rate of 50% off. My youngest daughter and son also snagged a few bracelets for a good price. DDJ came up through my tiktok and thought to give it a try as someone who loves jade. Their pieces have a lot of variety in shapes, color, quality, and translucency. I thought the jade was fairly priced but their gold was much higher for something such as 14k. Not sure if gold is more difficult to source or if theres a specific reason for the higher prices but it is much more than on the mainland. My first time here, a younger lady helped us out and she was so kind, patient, and very helpful. Came back another time since I had a fairly good experience and the older asian lady...yeah wish I saw those other reviews mentioning her because she got to me too. Instantly when we came through the door she was hounding us asking what we wanted/what we were looking for. When we took upon her offer to help she kept looking annoyed and frustrated yet when another customer came in, she was so friendly and even making small conversation with them. Not sure if it's because we are east asian (I say this because she seemed very offended when people would ask her if she was Chinese and was very quick to say no with a sense of disdain..also the other review mentioning how she too is east asian and received the same treatment) or if it was because we weren't local. She asked me again if I needed help. I asked to look at some jade pendants. Her attitude was dismissive - like I was wasting her time, even though she approached me twice. Whenever I asked a question about pricing or quality, she answered almost sarcastically. My bad diva :0 sorry for being curious about the jewelry I was buying :0 I know I'm not crazy because she happily greeted/did not follow the clearly white visitors around (I'm Asian :0) Very cute jewelry! The selection is vast and the price ranges from affordable to incredibly expensive. The piece I bought was gorgeous but has a crack (which is normal for jade). I greatly regret visiting this store because the jade I bought feels tainted by their bad energy but I felt like I had to buy something to prove that I wasn't wasting her time! Scam of a century. The day after Christmas, my dad asks me if I could take him to Chinatown, as he wanted to go to Bo Wah Trading to buy a 2026 Chinese calendar. Unfortunately for us, when we got to Bo Wah Trading, we found out that they had already sold out their 2026 Chinese calendars. Needless to say, my dad was bummed out (insert Sad Panda Face), so I told him I knew of another place where we can pick up a calendar. While walking back to my car, about a block away (going mauka), there is a jewelry store called DDJ Hawaii, and right by the entrance area of the store was a ton of new 2026 Chinese calendars. As I walked into the store, I was greeted right away by a nice lady, and told her I came here to buy a 2026 Chinese calendar. The nice lady showed me the various Chinese calendars they had which ranged from $7 to $5 bucks. I told my dad to pick up the calendar he wanted, and I promptly payed $5 bucks for the calendar & thanked the very nice lady. DDJ Hawaii mostly deals with jewelry, but I'm glad they also sold a Chinese calendars for the upcoming 2026 year. Happy New Year!!! read more

After not seeing anything I wanted, I went back to DDJ. I checked out some bangles and auntie helped me figure out my size and try some on. We went here 7/11/26. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by 2 aunties, they automatically made us feel like we were coming in for family dinner. They were welcoming, even conversated with my 8-year-old, she is typically really shy, but they had her talking. We were able to walk around without feeling like we were being watched. We hung out, looked at everything, they let us know they could help if we needed anything. We wanted to buy almost everything in that store! All the pieces and jewelry they have, it's all different and unique. Unfortunately, we were on limited time, but we were able to find a few pieces that we liked. It's a cute little shop filled with jewelry - lots of jade, which you'd expect in Chinatown. Gold and pearls and things like that too.
