I had a work room in the basement with a utility sink, cement floor, small metal window and surround work bench. To see it now, no one would believe how BFC transformed it into a modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances, heated tile floor that looks like old barn wood, laminate counter tops with bull nose edges that look like granite (seriously no one believes me when I tell them it isn't stone) and a sink that mounts flush with the counter top. I had asked for a gas stove and oven and a garbage disposal that my current electric panel (as I remember it) would not accommodate initially. That was remedied and my gas stove wish came true!!! Also had to move the water main in the house (I think that is what it is called.) Went smoothly. BFC also put in heating vents in the kitchen that were not present before to that room, added heating vents to the bathroom and living room that were also not present before as well as a new air return and key lock on the sliding door. I already had a living room, bedroom and bathroom downstairs but wanted to make it an Accessory Dwelling Unit and to move downstairs and have people rent the upper two levels of my 4 bedroom 3 1/2 bath home so when my kids graduated from college I could live there and get help paying off my remaining mortgage before I retire. BEST decision and investment of my life. So beautiful and love walking bare foot on the heated tile floor in the winter! That was my project and the management could not have been better. There was communication from the get go through to the final walk through. Every detail was taken into account. Change orders were taken without hesitation and were followed through. It was a joy working with Steve and Leslie Soell and BFC team. Highly recommend!

As first-time home buyers, my husband and I reached out to First Summit Realty after being…read morerecommended by our friends who purchased their first home with First Summit in Lafayette 6 years ago. Our experience was wonderful, here's why: After looking on the market for ~6 months, and seriously for ~1, we had found a home that we really loved, it was "the one." We were ready to put in an offer, and want to go in aggressively low due to time on market. We had been in touch with an agent elsewhere but did not feel like they would be a strong negotiator or ally for us in the first-time home buying process. On our friends recommendation, we reached out to First Summit who put us in touch with Jenna (Catalona-Davis) whose region spanned Denver-metro. Jenna was truly our partner in the process! She guided us as first-time homebuyers and worked with us to build a strategy that took all things into consideration-previous purchase price, time on market, comparisons, how renovations were factored into the listing price. Jenna was a weapon in negotiations and worked hard to get our offer accepted $20,000 below list price 2 days after submitting our initial offer. I can't overstate enough that she was absolutely a partner in the process-she demystified the home buying process, took every question we had and made sure we felt comfortable choosing to move forward with every next step. A phenomenal experience! Thanks, Jenna!

At our initial meeting, he didn't boast (even subtly) about his sales record, which I found to be a truly refreshing distinction from other top producing agents. My home had several factors that I was uncertain how to address before putting the house in the market. Rike assessed the situation and gave me sound advice. Later in the transaction, he met me at the property on a Friday evening for a contractor meeting that took over 3 hours. I was impressed and grateful that he was there in person taking care of the un-fun details of my deal. If you work with Rike, you can expect timely communication, expert marketing, and a smooth transaction that is the result of his years of experience in the industry. It was a pleasure doing business with such a knowledgeable professional. Highly recommend!

Hiring one of West and Main Homes real estate agents, a broker associate, Lucia Mears, was one of…read morethe worst nightmares I have ever had. She needs to be completely mentored by a more senior, professional colleague in her office. We had an Exclusive Right to Buy Listing Contract. At first things went well with Lucia sending me listings to review and after I had identified some that seemed to fit my lifestyle, she scheduled showings and we spent about 3 long afternoons viewing them. I made a pick on one of them as my future home however after inspection it was revealed that the home had hidden deferred maintenance on the furnace, air conditioner, locks on doors, etc. It was more than I wanted to manage through even if the sellers paid for and fixed it all. It revealed just how poor maintenance was done by the current, and probably previous owners on the property. The day I asked Lucia to terminate the deal prior to the inspection termination deadline, she sent me the form incorrectly filled out THREE times. I had to tell her how to complete it. Other characteristics of Lucia are: * She acts like a child, constantly needing validation of her worth and value. I felt for every little thing she did I had to say 'please' and 'thank you. * She is manipulative. Often, she would tell me what she thought I should do, acting as if the way I have done things in the past were wrong. As a 67 year old woman who worked in corporate America for 40 plus years with many success stories, I know how to look out for myself. * When she wrote the buy contract, she never talked to me about whether there should be a contingency on the sale of my existing home (which was under contract at the time) nor did I think to ask. When I brought that to her attention after the document was fully executed, she said "Well, do you think your home won't sell?" I told her there is always a risk a home won't sell even if it is under contract. She said she only wrote in a contingency if the prior home was not under contract. * She said things like "...I've taken you to all these places..." and "Broomfield is so far". As a realtor she should know she has to travel to meet her clients' needs. * In conversation with her the day after the inspection report was provided, she went into a stream of consciousness rant about how I'll hurt the sellers if I cancel, that goes against her ethics, etc. Who is she working for, me the buyer or the sellers? * She tried to terminate our buyers' agreement the day of contract termination. The sellers had not yet signed the Earnest Money Release. This after telling me "...I promise you won't lose your earnest money..." when we talked about her neglect in not adding a sale contingency to the purchase agreement. Please do not hire this person, Lucia Mears, to help you with your real estate transaction. She appears to only care about herself and her commission, thinks she is an expert on EVERYTHING and that you are an idiot of you don't agree with her.

This is not a reflection on West + Main as a whole, but specifically on Ryan Pollock. I have worked…read morewith a number of realtors over the years, and this was by far the least professional experience I've had. When interviewing Ryan to work with us on an off-market search, we came up with a plan together. He expressed a strong desire to proactively pursue an off-market deal, and we landed on what was communicated to us as a mutually beneficial deal to have an agreement in place on any and all properties that he brought to us. We stopped talking with any other realtors and considered this an exclusive, mutually beneficial relationship/opportunity. After a month of no updates, I reached out and was assured that he was working on this. After two more months of zero (literally - zero) updates, we reached back out via e-mail and eventually text. A few days later, we finally got a response, letting us know that he has been focused on other work, that we are not his clients, and that we would need to sign an exclusive agreement in order to receive his full attention. Had we known this upfront, we would've simply pursued this game plan with someone else who wanted the work. Ryan's communication with us was both dishonest and unprofessional. Rather than taking responsibility or apologizing for the experience, he blamed our experience on "people not lining up to sell their homes right now." If you decide to work with Ryan, I hope that your experience is better than ours. Unfortunately, we found a lack of effort and honesty from him.
