Fun dive bar in AMI, trivia on Tuesday is always a good time but gets packed so go early!!

Not fancy, not a dive, just a fun relaxing place to get a drink. They serve most drinks from the basics to more exotic offerings. They have a decent selection of beers on tap or in bottles but they could expand their craft beer options. Our bartender was super nice and helpful. I wish I could remember her name but she was great. It is located right next door to the really great restaurant called "The Feast" and you can order food from the Feast and have it delivered to Dcoy Ducks. Which is a Great idea as the restaurant is often packed. I will definitely be back. read more

ATTENTION IF YOU ARE IN YOUR TWENTIES DO NOT ATTEND THIS BAR. when thinking of how to describe my experience, only a few words come to mind: disappointing, lackluster, and overhyped. bouncer and bar manager were rude, telling me i "looked 12 years old" and refused to speak to me or look at my ID when i politely told them that i had several forms. aside from getting turned away, being spoken to this way was unacceptable. I ordered a beer from the brunette bartender girl (I think her name is Megan) and gave her $6 for a $6 beer and she gave me a hard time about no tip so I gave her a few dollars for a tip. Then I ordered another beer and gave her $20 and she only gave me $4 in change. Then she proceeded to ring the bell and announce to the entire bar that I was a bad tipper after she attempted to steal from me. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

I rarely leave a 1/5 star review, however this establishment has left me more disappointed than my ex husband. The blatant disrespect, unwarranted scrutiny, and clear disregard towards customers was apparent upon approaching the bouncer working this evening. Regardless of the fact that each member of my group was of age, the bouncer decided to discriminate based off of unsubstantiated perceived "age" and looks. I have NEVER been treated as less than a human being and more of a percentage of gross income than I have been at Dcoy Ducks. Do NOT waste your time going to this bar. The security staff is rude and it is packed and hot. Just tried to go into this bar with a group of 8 friends (ages ranged between 22-29) and every single one of us got denied to even enter this bar because someone in the group "looked young". The security guard outside is on a power trip denying of age costumers because of how they look. If this isn't discrimination then I don't know what is. Don't waste your vacation here and go to freckled fin instead. read more

This bar did not allow my 22-23 yr old friends (who had 3 forms of ID) into the bar because they failed to detect 16-20 yr old IDS from the night before. It's not my fault that the door men don't know what IDS are real and fake. (They wouldn't even look at my ID even thought I have 3 forms- they just said I was too young looking and turned me and 7 others away even though we are all of age and have multiple forms). Unprofessional and quite frankly disappointing. Will NOT be returning to this establishment! I've been served here several times but on a holiday weekend they decided to group my friends in with underage kids. read more

After riding around on rented bikes feeling way under dressed (and way overly sweaty) to go to "the doctors office" we decided to stop into this little dive bar, and we are so happy we did. I'm terrible with remembering names but our bartender was extremely attentive, and helped me to find a new favorite drink. We were visiting from out of town, and any question we had, this man answered. We also enjoyed the Tampa Bay Lightning being represented, felt like home! A girl next to us was celebrating her friends birthday, and accidentally broke a glass. I've witnessed bartenders freak out and shoo people along, instead these guys behind the bar laughed with her and cleaned up the mess (she didn't order another and I think we all know why). The atmosphere seemed like the perfect get away in an expensive island town (to be expected). Wish we would've gone back another time, hopefully soon! My group of Seniors in college (all 22) sat down at a table trying to have a calm happy hour on our last spring break. One of my friends is an international student from India and has an Indian ID. He was turned down at the bar and kicked out. We don't want to come back to this island because of this experience, unbelievable. read more

We sat at a table and watched the bartender taking a shot with customers at the bar. No acknowledgement that we were even there. WoW!

Fantastic, friendly service, fun drink selections and welcoming space. Crowd was younger than us but fun vibe.

My friends and I have been several times before and had a great experience but will never be customers again after July 3rd. Two of my friends and I were let in after scanning our IDs (with a second form). But, as the rest of my friends walked up they were denied solely based on the fact that the bouncer thought one of them looked too young. He refused to look at a single one of their IDs (with a second form) and denied them. All of us are above 22 years old and have been loyal customers. The bouncer then got extremely aggressive and rude when we kindly explained we were over 21 and could provide valid IDs. He then asked those of us who he had already let in to leave because we were with our friends. This was the worst experience I have ever had at a bar and will NEVER be returning. Whoever this bouncer was should be fired it's embarrassing that he behaved this way and he probably doesn't know how to check an ID. read more

You need to come drink and second-hand smoke at this place! While on a community socialization trip with a few clients from the mental health residential program I supervise and in need of anonymity, I happened in to this perfect dive bar on the island. Budding dirtbag hipsters in a smoke-filled bar with shot specials called names like "Smurf Pussy" "Tie Me' and "Phaser Taser" (to name just a few) made for a fun bar-hop adventure late one Sunday night. When I asked the green Mohawk sprouting bartender if they served food he replied "yeah, I just ordered some pizza from Domino's. Want a slice?" In between the Irish Car Bomb swilling dorks and the Vapor pen smoking biker babe I settled in for a few hours of cultural observation and self reflective me-time interrupted only by my clients incessant curiosity and questioning about how the different drafts might affect their medications if they had taken them that day. A fun time was had by all and I'll return again some day as soon as this nicotine buzz wears off. The only thing I regret is not checking out the restrooms at this place because I'm guessing I could write another 3 paragraphs about them. read more

Decent dive bar in Holmes Beach. The crowd in the bar seemed to be particularly rowdy the night we were there. There was a big game on. A drunk customer threw his drink at one of the flat screens because he was upset with score and proceeded to hit the ground. The staff at D Coy handled the situation very professionally and escorted the man out of the bar. As the night went on the crowd grew rowdier as they got more drunk so we decided to leave. There was a very good raggae band playing that night, however, the music was too loud and made it very difficult to talk to the people in our group (we were the furthest from the stage but may as well been up front). The staff was a good time but the bar needed to clean up a bit. read more

This is a little bit of West Virginia in Florida. It's redneck, it's roughneck, big drinks for cheap! Local bands on the weekends. This is not a tourist trap. They have a huge selection of vodkas, gins, and beer. Also, this is one of the only late night spots on the island. Anna Maria island sidewalks generally roll up about 9pm. read more

Love it here. Deserves fives stars definitely. The service was great and all the bartenders were very friendly. I had so much fun at this bar. By far the best bar on the island! I have never been to a bar where pretty much every one knew each other and treated each other like family, but the duck has it all! The owner Richie Brown is a great guy, real funny and nice guy who deserves a lot of credit. My experience at the duck was very nice and i would 10/10 recommend this bar to people anywhere from the younger side to the elderly side! read more

I gave the 1 star rating based on the one drink I was served for the 1 hour I was there. A group of 5 grabbed an open table, and waited about 10 minutes without a staff member greeting us, even though they were visiting all the tables except for ours. We had a member of our party stop at the bar and ask about service, and we were told that there is no table service. We decided to place an order anyway and went back to our table. Here's where we were really frustrated. We went back to our table with our drinks we got from the bar, and saw the bartender that said she couldn't do table service serve TWO tables directly next to us, but she wouldn't acknowledge us. That's when we realized we were not her priority. As regular bar hoppers when we travel, they would have brought in at least $100 per couple in drinks. However, after that first drink, we walked across the parking lot and went to another establishment where we're having a great time where they make us feel important! read more
