When my wife and I deployed, they would not pro-rate four days of our rent and charged us around $450 for not getting the carpets "professionally" cleaned even though we rented the cleaner from aubuchon across the street and did it ourselves. I'm pretty sure you don't need a college degree, professional certification, or years of experience to clean a carpet. Especially one that never had any pets on it and only had two adults living there for less than a year. I guess carpet cleaner is a highly regarded profession around Cathage NY.
Fast forward a few days after we move out and are both in another country. They conveniently got around to doing the move out inspection AFTER we were out of the country even though we gave them a 30 day notice. With limited internet access or patience to deal with a scummy property management company, we told them to keep the security deposit to cover any charges they wanted to throw on us. Of course during their solo, unaccompanied inspection of the apartment they found some dust and dirt etc (even though we cleaned the place for an entire day)..whatever. The only one that really irked me was the oven. My mother spent 3 hours cleaning that thing to a level of cleanliness unheard of in any property DC Properties manages.
Wrapping up, they kept our security deposit, charged us an additional $450 dollars, and when we refused to pay, sold our debt to a debt collector. Great wat to treat two soldiers serving in Afghanistan! Way to go DC Properties. I wish 10th mountain would add you to the blacklist..to any soldier reading this thinking about living there, there are MUCH better options. Just look around. This place shouldn't even be a consideration. read more
