It took less than 5 mins to hack away at my hair - no precision at all so that I was left with a very uneven look. I will need to go to another hairdressers to get it sorted which will mean shorter hair than I had hoped but this is honestly the worst haircut I have ever had. On the other hand, the elderly ladies who frequent them seem happy enough - possibly more for the gossip than any quality hairdressing. Yes, they are friendly (though perhaps too chatty for my liking) but I would highly recommend you don't go there. There wasn't an option to give no stars.

Then she stood outside talking for ages, got in and then told me to come back later because 'i have my own clients' and someone was sick..I mean, you know you have a booking so for customer why not get someone else in?? Now what good hair is, will be a subjective point of view, but for me it is manageable and generally shiny and healthy looking as a result of a great cut. I first reviewed Angel Hairdressing about 3 months ago on my first visit. It's a local salon and after standing by it waiting for the bus for 2 years, I decided to give it a go when my budget couldn't stretch to a posh town salon do. So now, it is review No.200 and it had to be a 5 * review. Even though I my last hair cut was 3 months ago - I hadn't actually reached hair crisis point. My style had held perfectly even when growing and it was only as it really started to thicken up again (and growing very quickly) that I decided to cut it back again. It is probably the first hair cut that I've had where I've left a salon, the do has lasted a good few days before I had to wash and dry myself and it has been something I have been able to recreate myself, abet in Claire form, and not hairdresser form. Again - same fab cut. It is a small salon with one sink and 4 chairs. There are two stylists - Lisa who I think is the owner and Kerry who cuts my hair and who I think is fab. Same wet and dry cut as before - still in about 50 minutes even though my shape from last time had still held well, so again, great attention to detail to ensure my hair is perfect. Fab friendly and cheery service and great prices - still £28 for a cut and blow dry and I think it is under £15 for a wash and blow dry. It is not a tea/coffee and a biccy type place but to be honest, I never got the chance to have that any time before as when the cutting starts, that lean forward to get the cuppa could result in hair catastrophe and I'm not stupid enough to risk that. Busy weekend ahead with work and catching up with friends and I'm enjoying my glossy, well cut hair. Secondly of course would be the lovely staff. I've been served by the same hairdresser both my trips, and she remembered me the second go round, which makes for a pleasant welcome. Size-wise, It's a small joint, but more than enough room for the ladies to perform their miracles, and it feels reasonably homey inside. What seals the deal for me is the prices are totally reasonable--I've seen some places that make my eyes practically roll back in my head around town, and I've never been one to willingly shell out a week's paycheck for my hair. But Angel has fair prices to match the excellent service. My first go featured a simple cut, the second, a full coloring, and I'd give five stars to each venture. This is definitely my go-to salon! Extra perk: I was offered a cup of coffee or tea while waiting for my color to set. Don't mind if I do!

What really sets Byron apart from other salons I've tried is the attention to detail. It's clear that Ronnie the manager has incredibly high standards and it feels as though there's a real collective effort from all the staff (senior stylists to trainees) to exceed those standards. The service is second to none, the salon is impeccably clean, and while it's certainly pricier than other salons, the whole experience really makes you feel like you're getting value for money. She said 'I cant train your hands', which makes sense as I am used to moving through my hair in a certain way for ages now. I am delighted with my new style. One of the main reasons I picked this place is because they have a website with the prices outlined and some shots of previous work. They don't take card so it meant I knew how much I needed to bring with me before I left the house. They're a small salon but you're not on display for all the word to see so the place feels intimate and friendly. Ohh and also they do just the best coffee. I really do recommend them to anyone who's in Galashiels and nearby.

The decor is bright, clean and modern. The shop itself is large, and split into four different sections so even on a Saturday afternoon (their busiest time) it doesn't feel overly crowded. The staff are all very friendly and you are always greeted with a smile. My stylist always talks me through what I want done and offers advice and recommendations. I never feel rushed or forced into anything i'm not sure about. I have had various treatments done, colour, perm, up-do, re-style and i've always been happy with the result. As well as cutting and styling the hair, the stylists can offer advice of styling and caring for your hair. I've often enquired about certain products and they are always frank and un-biased in their responses. Overall Morgan's is a friendly, welcoming salon.
