The reflexologist is amazing. All hands! No tools, elbows, etc. I wish I could have stayed in town long enough for another session.

Wow! So so impressed with Heidi & Pearl! This one is found…read moreinside David Lloyd Leisure Centre in Newhaven so there is plenty of parking. Went with my sister to get hair up for a wedding. We'd been let down by our hairdresser the night before the wedding and somehow found this place online - and so glad we did. We were able to book in online, which was perfect as it was after opening hours. Such a simple online process too. We got there the next day and were met by such lovely welcoming staff. We were sat down at the blow dry bar where we were offered a glass of prosecco, luckily it wasn't me driving so I could accept! The girls were great and so professional, we absolutely loved our hair and got so many compliments at the wedding. They also managed to put some eyelashes on for me even though I hadn't booked in for this. I would, without doubt, go here again. The price was also fantastic, think it was about £25 for hair up, which is amazing.

Photos below. --- I would avoid this salon completely! I'd especially would recommend against booking and paying online in advance of your appointment! I prepaid online for a Black Friday deal and attended the salon on a Friday morning with my laptop to show a photo of the colour I wanted (photo below). There was no mirror in front of me during my time at the salon so it was only at the end that I could see just how wrong things had gone. My hair was bright red at the top, then there was a layer of brown, and then much lighter ends (photo below). There was sticky hair dye that hadn't been washed all over my hair line and face and inches into the back of my hair underneath (photos below). I explained to another member of staff that I was extremely disappointed with the colour and that it was nothing like the picture. She said she could try and fix it then and there but that the senior stylist was off sick and she would prefer to wait until she could speak to her as she wasn't sure which of the methods she should use. She even suggested I go to Sally and buy my own materials to fix it or failing that wash it with washing up liquid!!!! I was extremely disappointed as I had a family event in Ireland the next day and I'd have to attend with my hair so awful. Not even the blow dry would be in place as I had to wash the non-removed dye from my hair! I was told I would arrange a refund with her manager. I attended the following Monday for my hair to be fixed. When I arrived the salon was closed and no staff were there. The first person turned up ten minutes AFTER my appointment. I spent five hours there as the person doing my hair was alone and answering calls throughout. Her attempt at fixing my hair was just packing it with highlights. It is nothing like what I asked for and I kept stressing that I wanted a natural look! My hair is now stripy and a huge patch has been missed from the highlights, typically right at the front when my hair is parted (photos below). I explained that my hair had barely been trimmed when I asked for a few inches off and she cut it for me. My hair is now different lengths on either side!!! (photos below). I was again advised that the manager would be in contact with regards to the refund as she wasn't able to process it herself. I never heard back from them and messaged them privately on Facebook. I have been advised by the salon that I am not entitled to a refund because they fixed my hair. To confirm: they didn't fix it! It isn't as bad as when I left the first time in terms of the colour but it is so far from what I asked for and the length is different. This place looks alright for up dos but not for colour and cut. The blow dry I received was so poor, you can see from the photos I took when I was outside the salon that the bounce is already fallen totally flat. They've offered me back 50% of what I paid but I don't think this is fair at all. I want my full refund. It is going to cost me a lot more than what I paid to have this fixed. Also mortifying in the run up to Christmas and my birthday to have been going places with my hair like this.

She was fantastic from the consultation ( recommending olaplex as a pretreatment which is simply the best hair conditioning I have ever had) right through to talking me through products I might like to help maintain my colour going forward) Her knowledge of the davines products that muse sell is unrivalled, she talked me through them but at no point put any pressure on to buy anything she is just passionate about them ... I purchased products because I genuinely wanted too. Muse I should mention had to be hand selected & approved by davines in order to sell their products which they do exclusively ... The whole team are very welcoming ( I was in the salon 3 times, 1 for a free consultation another to get an olaplex and then my final appointment to get my balayage done) my Appointment was at 2.15pm and whilst the salon is open until 6pm on a Wednesday I was the last client of the day for her, they do this to ensure they can give you 100per cent of their focus, she constantly checked my colour & toner progress. I left 20 mins after closing and didn't feel hurried out the door at all! The salon is very modern and everything down to the coffee was faultless. I'm so happy to have found a hair dressers in Edinburgh I can trust. I carefully read reviews on this salon before trying them for myself and I am pleased to report they are clearly genuine reviews so I felt i should leave one of my own ... See you again soon!

The owner, Scott, has continued the family business which started in 1960 as a barber shop called Staynley's Hairdresser. The place is now known as Muse Hair. New clients will be asked to fill out a questionnaire which lists your likes, dislikes and general haircare routine etc. The staff in Muse are very friendly. When my hair is shampooed, they tell you what products they are using and you can also buy them here. It was here that I was recommended the Redken Blonde Glam shampoo which I now use regularly. On my recent visit (yesterday) I also saw a notice that if you check in to Muse on Facebook, you can get 10% off any retail products you buy. I usually just go for a haircut and blowdry, but I have also had highlights done here a few times, and always leave as a happy customer.

I am eternally grateful to the staff in Murdo McCleans for fixing it for me!!! Whilst the cost of hair care is quite expensive, I think it is quite competitive compared to other salons in Edinburgh. The staff are friendly and attentive, and in my experience they have taken their time to do the job properly. You can have refills of tea/coffee/soft drinks as you require them, I find the experience of getting my hair done a very enjoyable one! The salon also offers a waxing/nail bar/eyelash extension service, so it's not just hair care that is catered for.

It was a few days before Christmas and asked if there was a spot later that day for a cut and blowdry and lucky me, there was. As the last customer of the day, I was sat down and asked if I wanted a coffee, tea or Bucks fizz (if it's like this after Christmas as well, i'll definitely be back!). My hair was washed professionally, and the hairdresser gave advice on what I should do with my hair. She noticed quite well I wasn't a superchatty person, so the chitchat was kept to a minimum. She finished my hair quickly, blowdried it and added a few curls to it. £40 poorer (ouch) and with a smile on my face, I left the shop again.

I went to the wax bar straight afterwards because I wanted to cry at my nails. They gave me an appointment for the sat morning although I think they got me in after I showed them my nails. They were a joke. I felt sorry for them also as it's not nice having to put some one else's work right. They had no problems with this and just wanted to put them right for me. Sat morning and the service, the treatment was first class here in the wax bar. The girls were lovely and I think they were all pleased including me with the end result. They are now beautiful for a exciting and beautiful day on Monday. I could not be more thrilled with my nails. And this time I have shellac on my nails instead of nail Polish and a clear top coat that just came off with nail Polish. I am so so pleased I choose the wax bar and have to say they have gained a happy customer and I most certainly will go back. I also happened to pick up a price list of all the procedures they do so will definitely be taking some of these treatments up also. Needless to say I am walking on air now with my nails. There stunning. First class service thankyou.
