4 reasons to come to this park. ***NEW INFORMATION***…read more There isn't any fee for everything I'm mentioning EXCEPT the front part of the off beach parking area ****** 1st is MY reason: I go here because it has 2 fenced in HUGH dog play areas. My girls go into the small dog play area while yes, big dogs go in the other one. Each play area has benches, water and poop bags in different areas of the park. (Some people leave balls there also otherwise, you bring your own) I walk the perimeter while the girls run after me and the other dogs. My 2 rescues "mother/daughter" duo are still puppies, full of muscle and need to run for their exercise. (for me to rest because they are a handful) 2nd: There is A children's play area. I know they have swings slides picnic benches but I'm not sure what else because I don't have a child to go there. I hear all of the children laughing, having fun so I'm sure it's pretty nice. 3rd: They also have back to back courts for... I know one is basketball, the other one may be pickleball? Not quite sure but again I see lots of people playing on the courts even if I'm not paying attention to them 4th: Which is most likely you wanted 1st is the large parking area across from the beach As you first drive into the park, there is a huge off beach parking area where You can (of course) park and walk right across to the beach. * BE AWARE, It is no longer "free" parking (just like ALL the parking areas in Volusia county) **The parking areas are free for local residents as long as you register with your car license plate and proof that you are indeed a resident here. ***I don't know what the policy is, you will have to look it up in The Volusia County rules I do know it's $20 a day parking (and all the parking areas now) BUT, I do know it is a great park with something to do for all AS for pictures, I will put them up when I go again BUT, here is a shot of my cute ladies and something strange that someone put up. Stick figures that I don't know their meaning

Dad & Son, theme of the day Baseball!!!…read more This review will be quick and to the point. For an indoor batting area it is basic, it has pitching machines with practice balls, red and partly rubber. Pricing is about the same as anywhere, but maybe a little high for this experience. We got the 10 tokens 75 balls for 24$ They have both higher and lower token counts, but this one was most worth it to us. They have helmets and bats if you don't have any or just want to stop by, helmet padding is definitely in need of replacement in almost all the helmets, just FYI. The counter person was very friendly and she explained everything with ease. The reason for the 3 star rating and not more is the fact that the pitching machines are very close, so this is more of a make contact batting cage rather than see where your ball goes as it seems to be only about 25 feet between the machine and the boxes. They do have 6 cages ranging in speeds and types: softball/fast pitch & baseball Also there were a few times that we only received 10 pitches as the machine would run out of balls and the machines still count the ghost pitches so you lose some of the cuts you should've received. There is also a huge space with 2 volleyball courts and what looks to be a gymnastics area. Placed seemed fairly clean, bathrooms were well kept, but basic. They have vending machines for drinks/snacks. Also this place looks like it's in a line of warehouse so don't be fooled by all the bay doors they are there. I also suggest parking across/away from the front of the building when we came out my car was covered in a white mist of something, so I had to get my car washed. All in all if you just want to work on contact with the ball this place works, but if you want more of an immersive experience you may want to try 406!!! If we go again I will take puctures!!!

After they stopped the membership, the continued to charge my card (and other members) and refused to take the card off file. I emailed, texted, and called. The owner was extremely rude, i even drove up to the batting cages to resolve it and it wasn't fixed. They keep charging my card on weekly basis. I'm calling my bank today to have them blocked from any future charges. Do NOT GIVE them your card.

Don't come to the Candyland Sports Complex expecting Gum Drop Mountain or a Peppermint Forest…read more Instead you will find a comprehensive recreational complex for the residents of Longwood. Candyland Park is located in one of Longwood's older residential areas. The land was part of John Neill Searcy's original homestead grant. He also donated the land for the nearby Longwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery which abuts the park and it is where he was laid to rest. Candyland Park was named as a companion park to Longwood's former Peppermint Park. Candyland Park came to be in the early 70's as a place for a second set of baseball fields and tennis courts for the growing suburb. The Skylark subdivision was platted in 1972 and it began construction in 1973, north of the Longdale neighborhood. The City of Longwood required that five percent of the land be set aside for recreation. Candyland was chosen as the name because it went went with the already named Peppermint Park. Peppermint Park was closed and dismantled when the city built a new police station in 1985. Today Candyland Park is a 17.5-acre community park with a variety of sports and recreational amenities. There is a softball field, two minor league Babe Ruth baseball fields, a full-size Babe Ruth Baseball field, t-ball field, two practice fields, one tennis court, six pickleball courts, two full basketball courts, a futsal court, modular skate park, a BMX/Skate Pump Track, two picnic pavilions, picnic tables, and grill, and a playground. There are also bleachers, and a restroom and concession stand building. Candyland Park is a hub to bring the community together for skating, playing sports, and outdoor recreation.

Our team from the Worcester, MA area consisted of 11- and 12-year-old players whose families…read moreplanned for months to attend the Winter World Series, Miggy Wood Bat event scheduled at the Coastal Florida Sports Park (CFSP) on Dec. 27-30, 2019 (cosponsored by the Miguel Cabrera Foundation (MCF)). My family had already arrived in Florida a few days before the event, but on Dec. 24...Christmas Eve...they CANCELED the tournament...via email. As you can imagine, everyone was extremely upset and disappointed. Some families had already begun the twenty-hour drive, flown into Orlando, or were in Titusville. Other families had to cancel plans altogether. For a few, it really ruined Christmas because the tournament *was* the gift. For those of us who had arrived...we were going to have to fill in four days with other activities or hang out at the motel. We thought, "there has to be some way of salvaging this!" I went with a fellow parent and our coach to CFSP on 12/26 to see what was up. The place is pretty slick with a huge field that has stadium seating, a large practice facility with many batting cages and an immense weight room, etc., etc. The representative who met with us was very polite. He explained that the Miguel Cabrera Foundation had not followed through with plans to help bring teams to the tournament. Both places promoted the event on their websites and social media channels. But for some reason, the gist of the explanation was that the Miggy Foundation didn't hold up their end of the bargain. I found it notable that, even after the event was canceled, both places continued to display information about event registration and NEITHER the CFSP nor the MCF had posted notice of the cancellation. In fact, those graphics were up through the duration of the tournament dates. I asked about the wooden bat ("Miggy Bat"), jersey, and hat that were supposed to come with the registration fee. They were never produced! But why wouldn't those items be produced ahead of time when you're anticipating a scheduled tournament to transpire in a few days? I have to wonder, if you are putting on a baseball tournament which requires a certain number of teams to make financially viable (let's assume 8 teams of 12 players each...and I'm only calculating for one age group), wouldn't you be tracking your registration closely enough so that you can see-well in advance-that you're not hitting your numbers? You'd have to know so you could order the correct amount of bats, hats, and jerseys. Things didn't add up, it seemed like they likely knew well before the 24th that the tournament wasn't going to happen. And they knew how far away we'd come from because I'd personally spoken to their representatives via phone. Nevertheless, notice of the cancelation didn't come until the 24th. Before the end of the meeting, he said he would put together a 2-day (rather than 4-day) tournament with the teams that had shown up. Allegedly there was a Canadian team and a team from one of the Carolinas that was also available. He also offered us use of their batting cage facility for a few hours to get in some BP. That was very nice of them. And because not our whole team made the trip, after hearing of the cancelation, the representative said that he should be able to get a few extra players for us. It looked like the event might be salvaged and our players, eager to play ball, would get a chance to play on the very impressive looking CFSP fields. We left in higher spirits than we arrived. We were able to get in the BP session and our players worked hard. In the following days, delays attributed to wet field conditions (it had rained off and on) pushed the new arrangement back one day, then another. Our team offered to come do whatever was necessary to get a field ready. However, the CFSP broke off communication about 9:30 am on the third day. They just ghosted me. Was there ever a tournament? CFSP and MCF have worked together in the past, and are scheduled to work together in the future. I hope they can dramatically improve the handling of tournaments. At the end of the day, CFSP was the one doing registration intake, therefore CFSP either manages events poorly, neglects to properly plan with cosponsors, or at the very least doesn't communicate well with customers about expectations. My recommendations are...maybe you could bolster your registrations by promoting your attendees better on Social Media, or offer incentives for referrals. My advice to customers: Do your research. Ask lots of questions before you commit to the expense and planning. Verify the tournament is scheduled. Demand to speak to other teams/coaches who are coming and/or previous tournament attendees. The facility may look amazing, but that is only one aspect of a tournament experience...event management and viable competition are required. Caveat emptor...buyer beware! KC
