The ONLY reason I'm giving this place a 1 star is because I have to give stars. Staying here for the 4th of July holiday. 7/1 - 7/9. As of today 7/5. Have NOT had bed sheets changed and had to go get my own towels - no "fresh" towels. WTF. I understand if it's been possibly 2 days but 5??!!!! Do your self a favor and PASS THIS PLACE UP!!!!!!! Where do I start with this huge mess! After having a power outage we decided to stay at a hotel. I am 8 months pregnant with a four year old and I did not feel like staying at home with this Chicago heat! We called and made reservations and we were told our total was roughly $84. We finally make it to the hotel and the lobby looks clean and orderly so we are happy (that doesn't last). We go up to the desk person and she can't find our reservation, no worries right they have other rooms. When she gives us the paper work to sign the total is $115 with a "discount". That's $30 more than we were initially quoted but I am so tired and cranky I let it slide. We go up old ratty dirty elevator and get off on the 3rd floor. As soon as the elevator opens the combination smell of dirty old man, cigarettes, and massive BO wafts towards our direction. We get into our room and you can tell the cleaning crew did the bare minimum to keep this place "clean". I've stayed at better hole in the wall hotels in Mexico! The coffee pot, which I had no intention of using was full of coffee stains. And the disposable cups were all crush that two of them had holes in the bottom. Against better judgement we get up for their continental breakfast. I can't complain about the breakfast it is usual breakfast fare ie. toast, cereal, etc. But that room was hot an MUGGY! It felt gross. They had no plates and the milk was not in a cool container so needless to say I stayed away from that mess. The reason I gave it two stars instead of one is because the desk people were nice and they ended up giving us the original price of $84. Next time I will prefer to stay in my home oven than this place. read more

I was here with my family on a road trip to Chicago. I booked 4 rooms in the hotel. Let's get down to logistics of the hotel. Location: One of the main attraction on why I choose this place. It is very convenient as the highway is a minute away and it's not too far away from Chicago downtown and other touristy areas. Surrounding: there are a lot of restaurants in the area if you are driving and if not Denny's and McDonalds are just walking distance. There is also a wallmart not too far drive like 3 mins. For my Halal folks the whole neighborhood close to the hotel is known as little Palestine so there are plenty of Halal restaurant. Make sure you check out Al Bawadi Grill amazing food and great restaurant! Parking: there is plenty of parking for the resident of the hotel. Wifi: was very good and did have any issues with it. Breakfast: Very very basic! Bread, cereal, orange or apple juice and coffee or tea. Make sure you get to the breakfast earlier as it runs out and they are very slow in refilling stuff. Reception: This is where the hotel lost 2 rating stars from me. The lady checking us in wasn't friendly at all; ask her for anything answer was NO! As we checked in we were a big group as I booked 4 rooms and we had kids, you could see she was annoyed by us waiting in the lobby. In one of the room the bed just sank in to the extreme so we asked, if we could change the room, her answer to us was there are no rooms available. The remote wasn't working in one of the room and so I went to ask her if she had new batteries and she just started interrogating me. My sister needed a baby crib and again same lady so we asked here twice at different days, her answer non available and yet the same day the other reception was able to give us within few minutes of asking. It said in the rooms "complementary tooth paste available ask reception" so we forgot toothpaste and were going to buy it the next morning as it was night time. I go to the same lady at the reception asked her about the toothpaste (it's those plastic packs where there is toothpaste of one person) and she gave me one, so as my family was big I asked for a couple and she looked at me weird. She just checked us in, I don't know why she was hesitant on giving few more of the toothpaste (one person pack). This last thing just pissed me off, on the first day we extended one extra day for all four rooms. The same lady did the processing made us sign the paper, I specifically asked her do we pay now; she replied no when you check out. The extra day comes and guess what they don't clean our room we were out all day and we asked why, the staff at that time said you were suppose to check out this morning but your luggage was there so left the room as it is. They could find it in the system for that we extended. In the end all I would say exclude the problems with that one receptionist; it's a very basic hotel. Just there to crash in at pretty much leave just like hostels. read more

Our stay here was ok. You get what you pay for. Pros: Less than 25-30 minutes from Midway Airport. They are located near shops, restaurants, etc. The room was cleaned each day, we were there, there is a fitness room as well About 30 minutes away from Chicago. Cons: Persistent smell of cigarette smoke in the hallway. Not much in the way of scenery (located in an industrial area). At the time (2011), no microwaves or refrigerators in the rooms (only in the kitchen on the first floor). read more

This hotel is more or less how people have described it: it is near 294, it is convenient to adjacent suburbs, it is a basic hotel. Room was clean and service was friendly. Everything about the hotel could use an update - small bathrooms, dated decor, heating/AC is a little old, etc. - but mostly things are totally serviceable. After being in NYC a few times recently, $80/night for a clean, decent hotel room seems like a dream. Free, functional wifi. read more

days inn is a great place to stay my trip was in 2012 and the hotel was run my great management and the staff was very friendly. the walls are thin enough so you can hear everything. the breakfast was on time for my ex to get up eat breakfast and head to school. im sure her and her mother will tell you a different story. plenty of space for me to pack and leave my sister really enjoys that and i mean REALLY ENJOYS that. the wifi was good i could play my computer games with no lag. sorry no pics read more

I decided to use this as the base for the couple of days in Chicago - it's cheap. I only recommend this place if you're ONLY looking for a place to sleep. If you're looking for a place with amenities, look elsewhere. read more

This place is a joke. Unfortunately, we are using this hotel for my sisters wedding on 03/08. The front desk manager and his crazy eye and totally rude. They have made this process a total mess the entire time. They promised a shuttle, then said -oops, its not in the contract. Lost the info for the block of rooms multiple times. Promised comped a room for the bride and groom, and then told us this wasn't in the contract either. I'm waiting for a call back from Wyndham, Inc regarding the matter. I'm not even going to mess with the rude, uneducated hotel staff anymore. They don't eve deserve one star attached to the review, but i couldn't post this without selecting one. Where do I start? - When we arrived in our room, the a/c wouldn't work. When I called to report it, the front desk clerk said, "sorry, we don't have any more rooms. We can put you in a room with a single bed and give you a rollaway at no extra charge?" As if I'm going to pay for one less bed? We said no, so she said she would see what else she could do. She called back 20 minutes later and offered a smoking room. - Therefore we had to stay in a smoking room. We noticeably stunk like cigarette smoke when we got home. - The front desk clerk was't very friendly. I think she was trying but I can't imagine being happy working here. - The room itself was not very clean. More than once on a counter top, desk or sink we saw sticky stuff. I accidentally put my hands in it once when it was dark. - The elevator sounded like it was going to drop at any moment. I've never heard so much metal on metal in my life. - The shower did have a Waterpik showerhead and was amazing! Stay someplace else. I payed very little for this place on priceline and even then it wasn't worth it. read more

Now a Days Inn, this motel is located just off I294 and 95th Street. We have stayed here twice, as it is close to family. The rooms are smallish and having the sink just inside the door is challenging. The bath/toilet area is VERY small and the offerings for breakfast are unimpressive. It is clean and quiet, though , so we will stay again as needed when visiting the area. read more

So the charges suddenly all reappeared today on my bank account. Awesome. Now I suddenly owe double again. How does that happen two weeks after I was charged? Now I have to try to work it all out with the Manager and I'm doubtful I'll get a credit. Disappointing. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! A friend and I booked a 3 night stay here because we were going to EDC and it was the cheapest place we could find. It was a very big mistake. The first floor smelt strongly like cat pee and the second floor smelt like pot our entire stay. The gym consisted of a bike and treadmill. The trash cans outside were overfilling, and the beds were as hard as a rock. We didn't get a chance to try their breakfast, which I am thankful for seeing how on our third night there, there was a mouse running around our room. This is my main reason why no one should waste their money on this place. When I called the front desk to inform them about the mouse in our room, they put me on hold. When she finally came back she told me that it was probably in the room because the second floor has a kitchen on it. I can't image what the actual kitchen has in it. She then asked me if we'd like to be relocated to a different room and I told her no, I'd like my money back so we could leave. They were very nice about refunding the money though. I just wouldn't recommend this hotel to any. I wouldn't want anyone to have to go through what we just did. read more

I knew we needed a place to stay. We were planning a night out with old friends, and knew a.) we wouldn't want to drive all the way back home and b.) would be in no condition to drive home. Well, in this general area, there are maybe two hotel choices: This place, and the four hour nap/take your hooker motel. Chose the Exel Inn instead. I booked a room on-line directly from their website, ($78 for one night) which was simple enough. I knew when we got there (that was our starting point, we dumped the car their and taxied elsewhere) that I was not to expect the lap of luxury. But come on now, the bed was fitted with a rubber sheet, and then covered in a plastic coating! It was the most uncomfortable thing in the world! It literally felt crunchy, as if I was sleeping on a mattress made of stale Corn Flakes. When we were checking out, the pleasant clerk asked how was our stay. Too hung over and with killer backaches, we just mumbled some incoherent reply. I guess the location is convenient to the expressway, but besides that, not much would ever get me to stay here again of my own free will. read more

Large rooms are about the only thing going for this hotel. Seemed clean enough. Beds were hard as a rock. Could hear loud pluming through our walls. Ice machine on the 1st floor was broken, and had unclear directions of how to get to the other ice machine on the 2nd floor. Smelled like a boarding kennel in one hallway, and smelled like pot and cigarettes on another hallway. Advertises that they have port-a-cribs but when I asked the front desk about it, they said they don't offer them anymore. Breakfast is OK. read more
