I got a croissant because that's what the lady taking my order said was popular. Sausage was the only one available. The croissant looked beautiful- fluffy and had a glow. The egg was premade and heated, and the sausage was just ok. I would try bacon or ham next time. The blueberry cake I got on a whim because the lady recommended it. I really didn't know what to expect but it was cute little donut that looked delicious before I even bit into it. It was very very good! I was hoping to find an awesome donut shop in Paris, TX, but alas, that was not the case. While the prices were great and the staff was friendly, the donuts were average at best. The cake donut was very soft, bordering on underdone. The cinnamon roll was pretty tasty, basically a glazed donut loaded up with cinnamon. My wife had a glazed donut, which she said was fine. My young son devoured his frosted sprinkle donut- he was definitely the happiest of our group. I'm hoping that we just caught the shop on a bad donut day. If nothing else, the donuts are cheap and plentiful. We ate in, but there is a handy drivethru if you need a quick donut. Credit is accepted for transactions $5 and up.

Yet everybody is always telling me it's only in my head?) So this is just another example and proves my case, but why is it? The other thing I've noticed is that most if not all Good Donuts shops, including this one (and in fact a predominant number of donut shops of all appellations) are owned by Asians. This one is typical both in that regard, and in being very well maintained with excellent product quality, especially the ones with custard filling. So what up wid dat? I think it's related to the tradition of Chinese coffee/bakery shops, which you may recall I've reviewed from every Chinatown in the country. I lived in such neighborhoods in nyc, sf, LA and Philly, in fact they're my go-to for many things. So there you have yet another mystery and one not even my beautiful China girl can explain.
