The aesthetic is really cool and relaxing. They have a full beverage bar, (including champagne) yes please! I saw Julia for the first time and she did an extensive consultation to make sure I got exactly what I was looking for, and boy did she deliver! I've always done balayage, but it tends to get brassy and my grays typically seep through after just one wash. I'm on 5-6 washes with the "reverse balayage" Julia gave me, and it's aging beautifully. I'm so happy with the color. Nobody else has been able to achieve what she gave me. I felt like I was really heard. Can't say enough good things. Don't hesitate to book your next appointment here!

They went about it in the best way where I have my blue, but without compromising the healthiness of my hair and I can't wait to (maybe) go even bluer next time Seriously-- GO HERE!

The salon itself is extremely welcoming. The staff is knowledgeable and will work to accommodate your busy schedule. First off, I've passed this place over a hundred times because it is behind (and underneath) the Nagi building, and undetectable from the street. It is really well-hidden, but when you finally enter, it is absolutely charming, well-appointed and extremely comfortable. Everyone there is cheerful and friendly, immediately welcoming and attentive to everyone who enters. Kathleen did my hair and consulted with me first as to what would be best; she was thoughtful and her recommendation was exactly what I needed. Her talent is obvious as she made it the entire process seem so easy and quick; I got a full head of soft, beautiful, natural-looking highlights, and I couldn't be happier! But I watched all the other stylists, (pretty much everyone had a client while I was there) and I was uniformly impressed. I can honestly say I would be comfortable with any one of them for either color or cut if Kathleen is unavailable in the future. They all take great care in their work, their clients, the cleanliness of the salon: it's all about the details. They don't need a huge sign outside as word of mouth is obviously enough to keep them busy. It's a Stamford salon with Stamford pricing, but check out their website for specials and of course Yelp! for deals as well, especially if you're hesitant to try a new place. It was absolutely worth it for me, and now I've got an upscale salon with a hometown feel that I know I can rely on!

Absolute Magic by Natalie at Philip Salon and Spa!…read more I had the BEST experience at Philip Salon and Spa, all thanks to Natalie! I came in with overly brassy hair--full of unwanted red and orange tones--and Natalie completely transformed it. Her color correction skills are unmatched. She listened so carefully to what I envisioned, asked thoughtful questions, and made me feel so comfortable and understood from the start. The end result? A gorgeous, rich, natural tone that completely got rid of the brassiness and brought my hair back to life! And the styling--wow. She gave my hair the perfect finish with soft, beautiful waves that made me feel so confident. If you're looking for someone who truly listens, cares, and delivers flawless results, Natalie is it. I couldn't be happier and will absolutely be returning! Highly recommend Natalie at Philip Salon and Spa

I had never even heard of it. I have had ample hair cut/colored/highlighted/balayage experiences at expensive infamous salons all over lower Fairfield County with very mixed, sometimes horrifying results. The salon industry itself is rife with bravado spewing stylists/colorists. It comes with the territory. So I am "gun shy" you could say. However, I've now been to Odyssey five times and I can say with confidence that they are a very solid professional & talented staff. It's a modest looking salon. But don't be fooled. This salon has weathered 20 years and can boast a long list of devoted clientele. I was very clear about what I wanted my hair too look like. I wasn't coerced to believe that my hair could be transformed unrealistically. Instead, Jerry the owner, transformed my hair with out damage, false promises, or boastfulness but with skill and patience and a chemist's knowledge. He is a master. I am often complimented on my balayage hair. It's been a pleasant experience each time (and not for an exorbitant rate).
