We've been coming here for almost a year and our dog absolutely loves it. The people here are…read moreextremely nice and really love animals. They all know our dog by name and he's so happy to see them. So for the breakdown: Daycare Pros: well priced at $27 (with pass plan), large space, other dogs to play with our very social dog, clean, low turnover of employees, convenient drop off and pickup times Cons: takes a bit of time for your dog to get its groove, the same way childcare would be. They test the dog's temperament and the first two days at daycare he wasn't out as much. When it's very busy the dogs end up in timeout more often, but our dog still comes home very tired and well exercised and happy Boarding: Pros: flexible, accommodating, and friendly service. Cons: dogs are only out 1 hour of playtime (which let's be honest is more than the average American does anyway). However for an additional cost you can do daycare with boarding. This gets pricy though. This is also very clearly communicated unlike what the other reviewers have said.

I think this is unacceptable on the manager's part they should have the decency to call a person back whether they got the job or not!

The experience was even better than we expected. There is nothing fancy about Canine Works but it…read moreis clean and we were impressed, when we visited, with the attention that Mary promised to give all the dogs in her care--and she watches a limited number at a time. Because our dog is about 15-16 years old and is partially blind and deaf--and because we have never left him out of our care since adopting him--we specifically looked for a boarding facility that appeared to be capable of giving him the individual attention he needs. I cannot say enough about the care and attention he received from Mary. She adjusted her schedule to Snoop's sleeping habits in an effort to avoid accidents in his bed. She ordered cordless clippers in order to trim his matted coat. (He can no longer go to the groomer because he began exhibiting seizure-like activity in that environment. We'd had him closely shaved last fall, which worked well during the winter as his hair grew back but we were now likely faced with having the Vet anesthetize him in order to shave him again.) Then she actually knit a simple sweater for him to wear on chilly days after his hair had been closely trimmed. She let Snoop wander around her fenced yard for long periods of time, which is what he likes to do--at a very slow pace--but also watched him closely, either in person, or with the various cameras set up outside and inside the dog areas. She regularly sent us pictures of him so we could see how he was doing and very pleasantly took our regular phone calls to check on him. More importantly, Mary did not hesitate to call us if she had any questions or concerns about Snoop. It was very apparent that Mary really cares about animals and gives great love and attention to those for whom she is caring. Snoop was the dog (we have three) that we worried about the most before leaving on our trip and, in the end, was the one we ended up worrying about the least while we were gone--because we knew he was getting the same level of care and attention we give Snoop--and maybe getting a little more. (And, Canine Works charges a flat daily fee for boarding, with no additional charges for the extra things that Mary routinely does for the animals.) There is no question that Mary and Snoop bonded and there is also no question that if we have to go away again, we'll be leaving Snoop with Mary and Canine Works.

After my Dane had to stay two months after my knee surgery, I knew that the family would love and care for him as I would. And they did. And threw a little training in for my safety. The commitment to the visiting dogs, to the Business, and to each other would make it impossible for me to replace. That's my kennel for life! Patti G
