Finding a doggy daycare facility after moving to a new state or location is often difficult. I wanted to ensure my dogs are safe, cared for, and comfortable, but most of all, they are happy. Before I toured the Woofy Wellness Ranch for wellness day, I made an appointment to visit the site. Once my appointment was accepted and scheduled, the staff greeted me very well at the door. They were very welcoming. Wellness day is when you bring your dog(s) for their first-day assessment and to see how they do with the other dogs on the first day. The Service: I sat with a manager to discuss their services, and the manager informed me about the facility. After 15-20 mins, I was introduced to the behavior counselors overseeing the dogs. They explained what they do and how they observe and then reported their assessment once the initial wellness assessment day was complete. To me, their team and staff worked well. While the doggies were acclimating to the environment and introduced, I had the opportunity to tour the bus and see the inside. The bus had multiple kennels, which were secured for safety. The Assessment: After the assessment, I sat down with the counselor and a manager and discussed my dogs' behavior during their evaluation. I was impressed that the facility has behavioral counselors and that they shared their observations. The counselors also introduced my dogs to different groups and informed me about packs. The counselors explained that Dogs like to hang out with packs and where they will be the most comfortable. The next step: For overnight, the dogs will need to undergo a kennel test. This test ensured that the dogs were comfortable during their overnight stays. I had to make a separate appointment for a kennel test. After these tests, I was able to schedule my dogs for overnight stays and daycare. It is located near the Richmond Airport and convenient when traveling. After one day of daycare at Woofy wellness, my dogs are asleep for hours. http://woofybus.com Hours: Monday to Friday: 6:30 am to 6:30 pm Phone: +1 (804) 525-4714 Address: 5912 Lewis Rd Sandston, VA 23150 United States

Our family LOVES the Woofy Wellness Ranch. We moved here in 2021 and have been bringing our dog since for both overnight stays and day school. I know she loves it because as soon as we arrive, she's so excited! Even though we don't come every week, all the staff knows my dog by name and takes great care of her. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They are so patient and accommodating with any care that you ask of them when your dog stays for boarding (special diet, BYO bedding, medication).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also love how they post photos online daily of all the dogs having fun.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We live nearby so we don't not use the bus service, but it seems super convenient for those who live in the city. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Finally, it's super convenient to schedule with them via text and they are always kind to answer my questions thoroughly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The staff, the groomers, and even the other customers are always friendly -- and it truly says a lot that all the pets who come here seem just as happy and well-mannered. The groomers here are contracted out, and the groomer I personally use is Mya -- and she is absolutely amazing. She is one of the only people I fully trust with my dogs. She is kind, patient, reasonably priced, flexible with scheduling, and genuinely cares about both the pets and their owners. I have two pit bulls, and anyone with this breed knows how difficult it can be to find a groomer who is both willing to take them -- let alone take both dogs on the same day. Mya not only accommodates both of my dogs together, but she also goes above and beyond to meet their individual needs. One of my dogs is not a fan of large crowds, and Mya is incredibly understanding and accommodating by scheduling us for the very first appointment of the day before anyone else arrives. That level of consideration means everything to me. What I also love is that while one of my dogs is being groomed, my other dog gets to play with Mya's little dog that she brings with her -- and they absolutely adore each other. It makes the entire experience feel calm, personal, and stress-free. One of my dogs is older, and I truly appreciate that one of the tubs has steps so he doesn't have to be lifted or jump in. That extra thoughtfulness makes a huge difference for senior pets. Another great perk is that they offer a self-wash option where you can bathe your dog yourself using their products or bring your own. It's such a convenient option to have. Overall, this grooming spot is welcoming, clean, inclusive, and filled with people who genuinely care about animals. If you're looking for a groomer who treats your pets with patience, respect, and love -- especially if you have larger breeds or dogs with special needs -- I cannot recommend Mya and this facility enough.

Aussie is pretty busy, so I believe it was about two weeks from booking to my appointment. On the day of the appointment, our groomer was running late. She texted me about 15 minutes after my appointment time to let me know that she would be running behind. My only critique of my experience with Aussie is that I wish she had told me before my appointment time that she would be about an hour late. I would have planned my day differently in that case. Anyway, once she arrived she could not have been sweeter. She was bubbly and loving with our dog and I could tell she loved her job. She told me that it would take about an hour and a half, but she was done in around an hour. Our baby was fluffy and happy when she was done. I opted for the deshedding treatment and I do see a difference! Overall, the price was high at $120, so I'm not sure if I can commit to doing that every three months. But, these days, I am willing to pay for convenience and the experience was great. I imagine the cost would be less without the deshedding treatment.

I informed them she did have some mats. The woman I spoke with said I would need to text a picture. I explained I would try but the mats were on the cat's chest, and she is a furry Maine Coon, so it would be pretty hard to get a good picture. She agreed and said "I know, but the owner makes us do this" . It's pretty hard to take pictures of a cat's chest. They aren't the most cooperative animals. She's also very furry so mats can't even be seen, only felt. We took a picture, but didn't even get any of the mats in the picture. I sent it and explained that. The response I got "Unfortunately those look pretty bad and tight. Due to her age and severity it would be best to have those removed at a vet's office". That's funny, because there are NO mats in this picture. Not to mention they have been grooming her and removing the same exact mats for close to 10 years. I guess they aren't qualified or trained well enough to do it anymore, so we'll be happy to take our business elsewhere, and spread the word to our friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers

One is ten years old and the other a little more than 1 1/2 years old--and we were very concerned about their welfare without us around to take care of them. (Yes, they're both spoiled.) We decided that leaving them at home would be better than boarding them and contacted Sarah based upon the recommendation of our groomer. We could not have been more pleased with the result. Sarah had three young people who made four visits each day for the 2+ week period. They reliably showed up on time each day and fed, walked and played with the dogs during the visits. (It did take a couple of days before the dogs adjusted to the change in their routines but they generally did adjust--although one had eating issues but that was because he is a little neurotic and had nothing to do with the care provided. In fact, the sitters went out of their way to work with that particular dog to get him to eat.) We received detailed daily reports about each visit by email, with pictures. Most importantly, we were quickly contacted with any issues or questions that arose. We would absolutely use Sarah Sits again and highly recommend them to anyone who wishes to have pets cared for in their own environments.

I visited the property and left my dog for a brief overnight stay the first time. She said that she let him sleep in their bedroom. I did not consent to this as she has other dogs and I didn't feel comfortable with him interacting with unknown dogs. The second time I left him in their care for 3 nights. My red eye flight arrived mid afternoon and went to get my dog without advance notice. This didn't give them time to hide the abuse they were putting my poor dog through. When I walked in, he looked anxious, miserable and significantly older. I noticed his tail hair was yellow--it was saturated in dry pee and on top of that he did not have any water in his crate and a bowl with scattered food. This is very concerning since I was told that the dogs are taken out into the backyard every 2 hours for potty relief. Also, my dog has a history of pancreatitis so it is crucial for him to eat his own food. I know something was given to him to entice him to eat because he had diarrhea and loose stool. Upon further notice after getting him home, he had a deep crate line on his nose that took a couple of weeks to go away. Lastly, the dogs naturally get excited anytime someone comes in so they start barking in their crates. The way that Mary yells at them to "shut up" is APPALLING and unprofessional. They try to tell you that the dogs they care for become comfortable with them shortly after the owner leaves. Almost every dog I saw looked anxious. This is no way that a person who loves dogs or animals would treat them. Please do not bring your pet here if you want them in a caring and trust-worthy environment while you're away.
