I'm a speech therapist and I know when my swallow is not right. I was seen by one of the associates of my primary doctor since I was unable to get into my regular doctor for swallowing pain and swallowing difficulties, abdominal pain, and a raspy voice. I knew that it was more than likely, acid reflux. The doctor I saw prescribed me a Zpack and said it was just a sore throat. I was furious. I then went to Urgent Care in Davis and they were exceptional. I waited maybe 20 minutes tops before I was seen. The doctor there was amazing. Half the time I don't like going to Urgent Care because I feel like they just try to get you in and out. Not this doctor. She really seemed to care and referred me to a gastroenterologist. I told her what the other doctor said and she laughed and said "do not take the antibiotics since it would make my symptoms worse. She marked my referral as urgent and by the next day, I had an appointment for the following Tuesday for a procedure to get a scope done. read more

I was told there was an hour wait to be seen even though no other patients were in the office. Once I was called back, it took an additional 15 minutes for the doctor to come in. The male MD made me feel very uncomfortable with the initial assessment; he asked me personal questions unrelated to my visit and did not seem to know what he was really talking about. The entire staff was male. The office seemed unorganized and the staff rather untrained. The medical advice the MD offered (for strep throat) was to eat "my favorite foods" and to drink lemonade. Don't bother coming here. They did nothing for me. At first, I was understanding because I had vision problems and they simply did not have the equipment. I thought the provider that saw me was reasonable in writing me a referral and instructing me on what care I needed to seek. HOWEVER, once I started to follow her instructions and needed the referral provided over the phone instead of a piece of paper (handwritten, mind you), they said they could only provide a PAPER referral. It was just an 800 number they had to call and verify that they had seen me (which they did) and that I needed the referral to an ophthalmologist (which the provider assured me she could provide). In short, an absolute waste of money. They didn't help me at all. read more

Our visit at 2pm on a weekday was for my adult son's injured toe. We were seen promptly, and had X-ray results within the hour. Dr. English was kind and reassuring, and the staff was very friendly. Without insurance it wasn't cheap, but not as expensive as I had feared. (~$380 including exam, cleaning, 3 X-rays with interpretation, a protective shoe, and tetanus vaccination). I should have read the negative reviews before coming here. My experience: The P.A. (not a doctor in sight) barely interacted with me and had a young, seemingly inexperienced M.A. do most everything during my brief appointment. The P.A. sent me home (via the M.A.) with discharge instructions that conflicted with her prescription, and most importantly her prescription was for a drug that contained an ingredient I specifically indicated I was allergic to. It could have been serious. In addition, the clinic advertises hours on its voicemail message that are different (much longer) than current hours. read more

I went in for a back injury from work and the Gabe me some muscle relaxers and sent me on my way. I came back a couple days later because the pain was so bad I couldn't sleep or even get comfortable during the day. They said there was nothing they could do but give me a prescription for lidocaine patches which wasn't covered by insurance. Then sent me back to work the next week while I'm still in pain. Doctor was great :) The front reception was terrible. They were talking and discussing patients in front of people in the lobby. My children and I asked if they minded please not speaking about other patients, so they began to speak in Spanish. Which some of us in the lobby knew. Can't beat the customer service here. It is now walk-ins only, but I've never had to wait longer than 10 minutes to be seen. Each provider I've seen had been respectful, professional, listened to my health concerns and made sure I was happy with the treatment plan (whether that be a prescription, over-the-counter recommendations or alternatives traditional medicine) before sending me home. I give this place a 10/10 and would recommend them to anyone. read more

5 stars. These people were great. I made an appointment with Sutter Health walk-in clinic and they wanted to charge me $275 just to be seen. Instead I went across the street to Davis Urgent Care and they charged me $140 for the same service (This is with no insurance btw). No appointment needed and I left with a prescription for the antibiotics I needed. Not to mention everyone was kind and cared about my health. DO NOT GO HERE!! Went here today with my sister whom was injured abrasions and open wounds nonstop bleeding on her hands and legs. She was running and fell, small rocks entered her skin and we needed to get to the nearest ER or urgent care ASAP. We are kaiser members but found out we can go to Davis urgent care as kaiser covers them. Entered this place at 4:00pm thought we were going to get URGENT care. The lady at the front desk told us to wait a half hour minimum so we did, we decided to go back home so my sister was more comfortable there. A half hour later the lady at the front desk calls and says there's a procedure going on so wait a half hour more. We do so. Two hours go by and she calls around 6:00 pm telling us to come in now as it's our turn. We get there and the front doors are locked. There is a child and mother waiting to get help as the child is undergoing a severe allergic reaction. It's approximately 6:30 pm and we see two woman walking out the back... two of the urgent care workers, we ask for help but they said they are closed. Mind you online it says they close at 8:00 pm and it is 6:30pm! These healthcare workers do not deserve to be working in the medical field. My sister is still nonstop bleeding and there is a child with an allergic reaction and the two healthcare workers reply "we are closed" WTF. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO DISAPPOINTED, these women do not deserve to be working in the medical field they had no empathy at all they are working for the paychecks not for patient care!!! WORSE URGENT CARE EVER! USELESS! We ended up going to kaiser further away. read more

I slipped in the shower and ended up with a pretty large cut on my forehead, which is a bummer, but nothing out of the ordinary for me. Usually I dread going to urgent care because I feel like I'm always being judged for how I got hurt, but when I went there today it was actually pleasant and the staff was super kind. Christina (I hope that is how you spell it) went out if her way to make me feel comfortable. she even let me friend also come back with me while I was getting checked by the doctor. I'm currently a student at ucd and it's my first year here. I was sick originally coming here but got better. I eventually got sick again two weeks later and wanted to see if it was a sinus infection because I was coughing and sneezing greenish yellow mucus. I go there and see a PA who doesn't even listen to my lungs to see if somethings wrong. She then tells me I'll be fine and tells me to get flownase. My condition got worse and I ended up going back to see if I could get a better doctor and I got one. He ran his test but then he said it was just allergies. I specifically stated to him when it is allergy related I don't cough up yellow mucus. He gave me some bs prescription that didn't even help with the mucus and I'm currently still sick while midterms are right around the corner. The doctors are completely dumb and should definitely be fired. read more

I have been here twice this year for stress fractures in my legs. Not only are they professional, kind and caring, but they know what they are doing. They compassionately listen to your concerns, correctly diagnose and give appropriate treatment(s) if needed. They will treat you like a human, rather than a number. Will be back in the future for any urgent health issues. read more

I was able to get in to see the doctor or physician assistant, in and out within an hour. The nurse and pa were very nice however I noticed in the triage room floor and surfaces including bed were dusty and had spider webs! Floor dirty in exam room and bathrooms. Phone help very poor and in person receptionist even worse. read more

1 star because I can't give zero. Worst bedside manner of any healthcare facility I've ever been to. The front desk person was not helpful in any way. We were put in a hot room with no AC for over an hour when they said the doctor would see us in a couple of minutes. The staff was really unprofessional. Honestly, I couldn't have been better taken care of. I came in for a migraine and pain in my body (I know. I'm a big baby) and the dr , such a lovely lady. Okay. Their billing system is so shady. I got a bill in the mail, they only accept mail in payments or phone payments. The mail in payments go to Utah which is weird. So I call the number, and they're all busy so I leave a message. I get a call back from an Illinois number and she says oh we can't do phone payments for this clinic. I'm like ok then why does the bill have incorrect information on their bill? So she transfers me to I guess the davis urgent care but I wouldn't know because a lady answered who sounded half asleep and just said hello? I felt incredibly uncomfortable like I was getting scammed and I had actually ask is this davis urgent care. So she says yeah and here's your bill information and she takes my credit card information and then I asked for a receipt and they're unable to provide me with a proof of payment other than me coming into the clinic which I'm from out of town so it's not possible. The whole process of making a payment made me feel like I was giving my credit card information to a scammer. I don't know why they don't have online pay or correct contact information on their bill, but it's super sketchy! read more

Horrible Clinic. Save yourself the time and frustration and go to an actual hospital urgent care clinic. I was suffering from extreme exhaustion and was hardly able to stay awake in class. In fact, I even had a difficult time driving to the clinic as I was so exhausted. This was alarming as I am usually a very alert person. I went in and while the front desk staff was pretty good, the actual medical personale were completely incompetent. A woman came into my room and did not introduce herself (I was under the assumption she was a doctor, turns out she wasn't). After explaning my symptoms to her she suggested I have depression. While I do acknowledge that some of the symptoms I was suffering from are also symptoms of depression, i knew this was not the case as I regularly see a psychiatrist who is authorized to diagnose mental illness, and has never suspected I have depression. I explained this to her, and asked her if there was anything I could do to help me stay more alert (I was referring to a change in diet etc.) she immediately insinuated that I was asking for adderall and told me she couldn't give it to me. I was incredibly offended and ready to leave at this point as that was not what I was asking for and I could tell she wasn't going to be able to help me in any meaningful way. she then told me to hold on as she had some texts that might help me out with my exhaustion. I waited 20 minutes for her to come back and hand me depression pamphlets!! Absolutely infuriating. She had horrible bedside manner and communication skills. I felt like it was a complete waste of time, my copay, and my insurance money. i later went to my usual doctor, and they were able to diagnose the issue immediately. I think its incredibly harmful for Davis Urgent Care to have non-qualified staff misdiagnosing people with a mental illness. read more

Terrible service. Hours listed on both their website and phone recording are 8:00AM - 8:00PM. We arrived at 4:40PM, door was locked, and the people inside would not come out from behind the counter to let us know whether they were open, would be opening, or would be closed for the evening. Finally when the employees were leaving for the day, they told us on the way oit that their hours changed months ago, and that they could not take any patients after 4:45PM. It is clear these people care a lot more about going home for the day, than for the health and wellbeing of patients. Disgraceful read more

I am highly disappointed with the care given at this facility. The PA who saw me did not bother to take a proper history and failed to provide me with the proper antibiotics. I specifically asked him if I needed a second antibiotic and he said no. When I called back to point out the discrepancy as to why I needed the second antibiotic, the staff was rude and unhelpful. The PA even said "You've already been seen, and now you're calling for more medicine." Even the PA had bothered to ask if I worked in a hospital, then he would have known to have given the second prescription in the first place. They were acting like I was a drug addict, begging for narcotics. I just wanted the recommended treatment of my skin abscess. read more

I never write yelp reviews but this place is terrible. They have never diagnosed me properly and they have given me medications I don't need. On my last visit they gave me a mixture of a steroid shot for an allergic reaction, which my primary care doctor told me is unsafe later on, and it only made my rash come back 10x worse spreading throughout my body. Then I had a bad reaction to the shot causing massive inflamation and itching to the site they injected me and they refused to see me unless I paid the copay again. This place is a waste of time and money. Just save your money and go to your primary care doctor. This place will only make your problem worse and won't take responsibility afterwards. After fighting with the manager about getting checked up on THEIR mistake, she finally allowed me to visit the clinic without the copay. There I found out I have a very bad bacterial skin infection from being poked at that site! I do not recommend this place at all. Their needles are not safe, and they obviously do not know how to sterilize their equipment or the skin properly. This is an extreme case of malpractice. I feel like this place should be shut down. Do not plan on ever going back. read more

I honestly got this place mixed up when talking to my Insurance and looking for a place in-network. I am not as familiar with the area and health systems yet, so I assumed this was UC-Davis affiliated. My fast mistake! I came in for a terrible cough due to some new allergies developed since living here in CA. I couldn't sleep or function well during the day; it was non-stop tickling to the back of my throat that I've never previously experienced. I got to the office. Visit was probably less than 5 minutes post paperwork. I was prescribed Flonase. This did not address my issue at all. Another restless night would soon follow. I ended up going to my primary care. What a waste of time, energy, and money! The office doesn't answer you, let alone care about your complaints. So, I have voiced them here instead for your reading pleasure.
