I feel so badly for the teachers who work there sometimes. There would be fights that break out every month or so, the occasional roach, and coaches that should not be in a classroom setting as a teacher. But I've seen that it's gotten better with new admin! We love how they balance the structured environment of a school with the nurturing environment of a family and we love the diversity present in the classroom - which tends to be rare in a private school! Pastor Bell and his family especially have such a genuine conviction to raise the next generation of children to be set apart from the world and love like Jesus and that's apparent in every interaction. There are not many environments that I could feel confident leaving my children all day, but I trust my children at Maranatha.

I attended a freshman football game between Gainesville and Winder-Barrow and was really…read moredisappointed in the Gainesville coaching staff. First, the team showed up with 19 players total resulting in these poor kids being run ragged playing both ways. A few players were injured and the coaches never even made an attempt to see about the players but rather the training squad from Winder Barrow tended to those children. It was heart breaking to watch those kids get run int he ground due to having inadequate coaching and depth on the bench. They must do better.
