This review is for the adult classes, and for anyone like me that has anxiety about coming and needs to know exactly what to expect. I did my first class last night. I have no gymnastics experience whatsoever. I wore jogger style pants (the ones that get tight at the ankles), a tight tank top, and a polyester shirt. My outfit worked well for what we were doing because it was breathable but also tight enough to where it wasn't flying in my face when I went up side down. You can also wear shorts and any regular t shirt. Just wear something comfortable Barefeet on the floor and also a mask required at this point. Months back I bought an UnderArmour face mask that is perfect for working out in, and it was perfect for this. Also, being a water bottle! Parking is fine (at least at night), there is a parking lot in front of the gym with plenty of spaces. And if it were to fill up there is a neighborhood(on Albany Ave at Donovan Ct) that you could park in and just walk through a little walkway that leads directly to their front door. I walked in and met coach Shawn and one of the other participants. My classmate showed me where to put my belongings (there's benches that are visible from the floor of the gym). As a class we did some conditioning to warm up - that night it was push ups, planks, toe raises, some jumping. It was very doable; my classmates told me that in past classes, conditioning is more challenging (something to expect). Then we did basic stretches. After that, the coach tells the class where we are for the day (floor, bars, beam). This night we were on bars. The coach demonstrated the different stations and then we rotated between them as a class (one person on each bar doing something different). My classmates were amazing; they helped me and encouraged me. After a while on the bars it became open gym where you can practice anything. I just jumped around a lot and also practiced falling backwards into a mat. So thankful that Davis Diamonds has an adult class! If you're thinking about trying it but a little anxious, I say give it a chance! There is a range of skill levels among the adults and no judgement; just a lot of fun. ‍ read more

My then 17 year old (now 22 yo) would go to open gym on Saturdays. There was always two mats at the end of the tumble track (long trampoline). The mats were removed this one Saturday and the staff did NOT "fluff" the pit, leaving it hard as a rock. My son bounced down the trampoline and did a front flip, accidentally landing on his head. He said it "felt" like he landed on concrete. He heard his neck pop. Sure enough, he cracked his C-2 Vertebrae. I asked him if staff was supervising the tumble track/pit area, as a head entry is never safe in gymnastics and he said, "No." Fortunately he can walk, but with time, new activities are presenting as very painful challenges in his life. We are only beginning to see how this injury is affecting our young son's life. I'd highly recommend a different gym! Davis Diamonds is too unsafe for my likings. read more

Gym is huge! Its a little daunting! There is a small little parking lot so make sure to come early! Walking in you are almost overwhelmed with the smell of stinky feet, but you adjust quickly. During my daughters class there are SO many classes going at once it can be hard to feel like I'm really experiencing it all, but they also offer open gyms where your kiddos can go out on the mat and have some fun in a calmer environment. They offer summer camps too! read more

My daughter, who is now 8, started with Davis Diamonds when she was two years old. The amount of balance, strength and flexibility she has gained from her experience has been amazing. She has had many coaches over the years and all of them have been fantastic: patient, encouraging, safe and fun! In addition to the amazing coaching, the entire atmosphere of Davis Diamonds is incredibly positive and supportive. Just the other day an older teenage girl came up to my daughter and noticed she had mastered a new skill. "I see you got your mill circle, great job!" was her comment to my 8 year old!!! This is not an unusual thing at Davis Diamonds! The older kids see themselves as mentors, so rather than demeaning younger children, they lift them up in ways that are truly inspiring. In addition to the many gifts Davis Diamonds has given my daughter, they have uplifted me as well! I was sitting watching my daughter when one of the owners of Davis Diamonds came up to me and asked if I would be interested in trying an "adult gymnastics class" on Wednesday nights at 7:30pm. I, a forty something year old woman who had never done ANY gymnastics before, laughed! She went on to say that gymnastics can be for anyone and that I should give it a try. At my first class the coach, April Phan, was encouraging and made me feel like a gymnast from day 1! There are men and women in the class who, like me, are complete beginners, some are in the middle and some are high-level gymnasts and April is able to give us each enough of a challenge but not too much! I honestly don't know how she does it. If you can believe it, not only am I getting good at cartwheels and handstands, I am doing a back handspring over an octagonal mat for support and a front flip on a trampoline! If any of you adults out there want to try it, you really should! In summary, I can not sing the praises of Davis Diamonds loud enough. The owners (Jim and Hilda), April and all of the amazing coaches and gymnasts at Davis Diamonds have changed our lives in an immeasurable number of ways. My family and I are so very grateful to be a part of the Davis Diamonds family!!! read more

We had our sons on team there. At first it was friendly and great, and we felt comfortable enough to drop our boys off and come back after practice to pick them up. I did find it strange that when I did go inside the gym, I was repeatedly asked why I was there and to leave and come back during comp season. Then we needed them to fill some forms out to get homeschool vendor approval, in order to be able to afford 3 boys on team. They claimed it would be done. 2 months later the school called them to help them get it done. The gym still didn't do it and made false claims to me about the process. I went in several times to talk to them about the form, letting them know we wouldn't be able to keep our boys in gym if not done. The owner told me they "did all they could" while chewing food and laughing in my face. After 4 months, the forms did not get done. We pulled our boys from there, and we felt they did not care about our kids. read more

This is the first public program our 2yr son has tried. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. Coach Alexa is both a natural and obviously experienced with the tiny tots (seems to be my son's favorite!) Coach Sara is also highly trained and experienced which makes us very comfortable about joining a sport which we have zero experience with. As long as our kid is somersaulting out of bed so he's not late for class, we will keep bringing him as long as he likes. THANK YOU! read more

We are SO pleased with their 3 year old Jr. Flyer program! My son has taken gymnastics since he was 1 and we have been in 3 different programs over the years. We recently moved to Davis and were eager to enroll him in gymnastics. We tried the city run program but were not pleased with the facility, set up, and organization/structure of their program. So we tried Davis Diamonds and thank goodness we did! It is everything we hoped for, an incredible open facility, AC, tons of high quality fun equipment, knowledgeable staff/teachers, fun and engaging obstacle courses and activities, and I'm most pleased with the low class sizes and thoughtful structure of the class. His current teacher is Coach Vincent who is AMAZING! Friendly, clear with expectations, great with behavior management, and so sweet with the kiddos! Sadly we have to switch classes and teachers now that school is starting, but luckily I trust their quality of service and am confident the new teacher will be just as good (will update my review once classes begin!) Overall we could not be more pleased with this facility and the high quality programs they run! read more

Extremely fun place for the kids, and for birthday parties. I really wish the open gym times were for longer, however. Having a very energetic, almost 4-year old, I find that 45 minutes is hardly enough time to even get started - :-/! The 1 1/2 hour option on Saturdays is better, but still not long enough. And for the birthdays, it's the same story--1 1/2 hours long. I felt like the entire experience was rushed, from the play time to when the young employee tried to snatch away our half eaten cake, which we were still working on...anyway, an extremely fun place--my daughter loves the trampolines and the foam block pit. Just wish we didn't need to sign up for a class to feel "important" enough to spend more time there. Also, don't expect your call to be returned by the front desk. read more

I'm not quite sure why the ratings are so low? I have been taking my 2 year old daughter here for the past few months and have been thoroughly impressed! So much so, I invited a friend to switch from the City of Davis gymnastics to Davis Diamonds and she has loved it! The coaches are great and the activities are not only fun but fundamentally based in gymnastics. The only negative I have experienced was trying to get someone on the phone when I was first trying to register. They don't always have someone at the front desk, so this can be frustrating if you are short on time. But if you have a little patience, it is well worth it! read more

Same as the other reviewer- my daughter had just started classes here- first month and I neglected to sign her up for the second month ( which has to be the week before the month begins ?) so without notice she is kicked out of the class. Who runs a business like this? And be prepared for the stench of sweaty feet!! Why not ventilate the place??? read more

My daughter has been going here since first grade and has fell in love with the sport. We started her off at the City of Davis gym and then moved her here which she likes much better. The coaches all seem really nice and she always has a good time. She is able to practice all of the events and work on her strength and flexibility skills. When she was injured a couple years ago the staff were so kind about it and fit her in so she could still keep up until she was all healed. They do classes for all ages including adults. I myself have thought about doing their adult gym classes to improve my exercise abilities too. If your kid has lots of energy or a craving to try a sport I would definitely suggest that you try them out for the gym. read more

Well I wish that I could give them a five star review but unfortunately I can not. I started taking my five year old daughter here in March & It was great she loved it & was learning so much. Today May 2nd after my daughters class they called to let me know that I apparently did not pay her tuition for the month of may & she was kick out of the class. I was literally there & they didn't say anything to me. I know it's my responsibility to know when tuition is due, but a reminder would of been great. I would of paid today had I realized. When they called me 5 minuets after we left the gym they told me her spot had already been filled & we could put her on the wait list, I offered to pay it immediately & it was already to late. I'm just really sad that considering we had just started coming to this gym we had paid in advance & did not realize that May was not included. I wish they would of said something before they just kicked my daughter out of the class. A courtesy reminder for a new student does not seem to be too much to ask. Again I realize it's my responsibility in the end to know these things I just wish a heads up would of been possible before they kicked her out. read more

We switched to this gym for my son who is a competitive gymnast(and his younger brother is taking their Recreational classes). The coaches are excellent, and the ones for the boys team are former men's gymnasts. They are patient and friendly. Both of my sons have had very positive experiences. read more

I have been bringing my 7 year old and 4 year old to classes here for the past year and I love it. The facility is large, clean, and air-conditioned. The teachers are knowledgable, patient, funny people who have experience working with kids of different ages and know their gymnastics. My daughter is a big ol' scaridy-cat and they have been very patient in slowly getting her to learn new skills. My son is a handful and the coaches have been great about keeping his behavior in check with positive reinforcement. I like how the have skills check for the older kids periodically, so the kids can see their progress and become inspired to try harder. They classes always start on time and are set up with fun and different activities each time. They sell very reasonably priced snacks and drinks in the lobby, parking is easy, and there is decent space to wait for the parents. They also run camps, which are reasonably priced, over the various school holidays and breaks which my daughter loves. Overall I have been very impressed with the professionalism of the teachers and the kid-friendly learning environment Davis Diamonds maintains. read more
